Nice collection.. If there could be more then I would add Disconnect, 1000 Times Goodbye, Return To Hangar, Die Dead Enough, Kick The Chair, Ashes In Your Mouth, Fatal Illusion and Good Morning Black Friday
I agree with your top two but there's a solo on the Dystopia album that I would've included. I forget which song but it had a kind of Eastern phrygian dominant vibe that alot of people (myself included) thought Kiko was playing until Kiko did a play along on his youtube channel. I think it was The Threat Is Real.
I would replace Burnt Ice with practically any other Dave solo from that album or Endgame. And probably replace Washington is Next with Lucretia. But I generally agree that thess are some of Dave's best
Huge Props for Playing My Last Words Big Respect However, No Songs from KIMB??? That has Mustaine's best works Loved to Deth Rattlehead Looking Down on the Cross Also, Bad Omen has a cool solo too
Every solo on the first record was dave except the one solo on the song kill ing is my business , the first 3 solos on rattlehead and the guitar work on these boots
Incredible ... learning Dave's solos. Allow me to suggest a solo you may NOT have heard ... Dave Produced an album for a band called Sanctuary. On that album, they did a cover of White Rabbit, by Jefferson Airplane. Dave does the solo in the start of the song ... worth a listen
Dave joined them on stage during the Charlotte N.C. date of the SFSGSW tour and blistered that solo live! It's got a really killer feel to it and it's very unique compared to what Dave normally does.
Dave nunca ha sido virtuoso en solos, pero su estilo crudo, desordenado e incluso a veces hasta sucio le dió a Megadeth ese sello que hoy lo tiene en la inmortalidad como una de las mejores bandas de Thrash
Great video, but I gotta say So Far, So Good, So What is my favorite Megadeth album. I know Dave hated the production, but there are so many great songs on it.
@@TheGawron666 The remaster is a bit of a mixed bag for me. Not much of a fan of some of the additions to songs (unnecessary horn intro in Into The Lungs of Hell) as well as pitch correction in a several spots. That being said, it does clean up the production and give songs some needed clarity. As far as which is better (OG v Remaster), meh I can take it or leave it.
The Burnt Ice solo is massively slept on. I know it's a repetitive lick but it makes quite a statement considering that's literally the last thing you hear before the album ends. PS: Only now realizing how much the beginning of the My Last Words solo sounds like Rising Force LOL
5:46 holy heck how did you get that part? I can manage to play the whole solo decently well but the first part always gets me, like is it harmonic+ bending on 17? I can't figure it out
Plus as bonus : sudden death, lucretia and mechanix solos
3 года назад+2
nice try, but you missed "1000 times goodbye" which is the second best Dave Mustaine Solo and far better than sweating bullets (i hate that one because of how easy it is)
When a MegaDave's Top 10 has 3 Peace Sells songs in the four best ones, you know the guy knows his music well. Personally I am that one single guy on this stationary flat board to have no resonance with Rust and I have tried so many times. Gar & Chris combined with Mustaine will forever remain THE MegaDave's sonic magic, to me. Yet tastes are subjective & personal, hence I understand & respect all of them. ... Some might even love Risk, who knows ? That said, as a fan & guitarist, you are one hell of a hot dude man. Bravo and thank you for this awesome upload. ❤
Mustaine is definitely more technically gifted, but Metallica so made the right choice with Hammett, there’s no real memorable phrases or melodic intonation or build up and dramatic release, very fucken fast and a lot of notes but can you imagine if Dave had stayed with Metallica, they wouldn’t have gotten anywhere near to the heights they did
Totally agree, I don't think you would have some of the heavy feel solo's like the beginning of Sanatarium and fade to black. Also, Hammett contributed a lot to Metallica's riff writing as well.
😂 Dave brought Marty and others for that, so it doesn’t matter. And actually Metallica would have made great records of Dave was still there. They stopped producing great albums after 89 😂
@@Qthetar Great? Possibly, depends what you’re into I guess, metallica are huge for reasons, and one of the biggest reasons the classic albums are so masterfully iconic is kirk’s meticulously crafted and thought out lead and solo phrasing. I’ve listened to Dave era metallica plenty, Dave’s great at what he does, but the second Kirk joined the difference in feel and dynamics was night and day, had Dave stayed I suspect metallica would have ended up very similar sounding to megadeth. Which is cool and all, but not metallica level is it.
Greatest solo in this globe . Please covering the whole solos of Youthanasia and Countdown To Extinction . That will be very cool for whole human beings.
My list: 10. Sweating Bullets 9. 1000 times goodbye 8. Hangar 18 7. Looking down the cross 6. Devil's Island 5. Good Mourning 4.Wake Up Dead 3. Five Magics 2. Holy Wars 1. My last words! I think I could swap some of the solos with eachother though
Your facial expressions are so intense that a couple times I was sure you had a nosebleed. Great job, though. Mustaine isn’t my favorite soloist but his leads are some of the most physically demanding.
I love Dave’s legato style solos mixed with Marty’s unique style they complimented eachother well similar to how in the band Death Chuck Schuldiner’s guitar solos along with the contrast of Rick Rozz guitar playing which used a lot of whammy bar action as Chuck played more intricate solos mainly using the Harmonic Minor scale. Also I loved the dynamics on one album with Chuck Schuldiner & James Murphy who both were technical players but had 2 different sounding styles so it was like getting 2 amazing solos out of each song! But I like 5 Magics solo that Dave plays, Lucretia solo, Wake Up Dead solo (this was the first solo I learned of Dave’s) my Last Words solo all great stuff from Dave!
I noticed how you took the 2 friedman solos out of the hangar 18 ending to give a mustaine only set of 3 solos... It was interesting to hear it that way... Thanks!
Props for learning these. Daves solos are so shreddy its hard to really pinpoint what he is doing sometimes but I guess thats the best way to play these. Like it leaves it very open ended for the player to really improv where they can and put their own spin on them.
Ever seen that Chinese Shaolin kid standing on a stump holding that log across his arms forever in utmost agony? That's what it looks like to play Dave Mustaine's solos. Good Lawwrd!
So we meet again! Dave is a "little" Metal God, the best move Metallica ever made was set that angry addict beast free :P Such a great guitarist and lyricist, very innovative \m/ Wake up dead is a masterpiece
Holy wars is a classic but personally I believe Dave's best solo is my last words
My last words is an amazing solo!
many of the solos in here top holy wars
My favorite of his as well. Into the lungs of hell is great as well.
The conjuring is one of Dave's sickest as well.
To me 5 magics is just as angry as holy wars but with better phrasing
Nice collection.. If there could be more then I would add Disconnect, 1000 Times Goodbye, Return To Hangar, Die Dead Enough, Kick The Chair, Ashes In Your Mouth, Fatal Illusion and Good Morning Black Friday
Finally someone mentions The World Needs a Hero, the guitar work on that album is mindblowing
3:15 holy shit that is a *massive* stretch. great work

Dave’s part in Lucretia kinda gets overshadowed by Marty’s part
@@iceblade019 For good reason. Whammy bar abuse is not as well liked as well done melodic playing of Marty
My favorite is Lucretia
yeha bra, rip it!
What happened to LUCRETIA??? Come on..
Dave’s solos on rust in peace are amazing but his solos on peace sells are untouchable
hell ya they are
black friday defo shoulda been on there
Dave's solo style is a nice example of controlled chaos
Huge Props for Playing My Last Words
Big Respect
However, No Songs from KIMB???
That has Mustaine's best works
Loved to Deth
Rattlehead
Looking Down on the Cross
Also, Bad Omen has a cool solo too
Hehehe! Thanks man! I just uploaded a video of Skull Beneath the Skin which has all the solos 🤘 check it out!
@@GuitarObliteration need a part 2.
Kimb
Goto hell
Also best riffs ... that would be incredible...
Glad this album was mentioned by someone, so much good material.
Every solo on the first record was dave except the one solo on the song kill ing is my business , the first 3 solos on rattlehead and the guitar work on these boots
And Mechanix and Chosen Ones
Seems like you nailed every solo. You found some unique solos of Dave that’s normally not talked about such as Burnt ice and Washington is next
Thank you!!!
For me washington is next is a must(aine) solo that should be on every list. The technique used is so unique.
Sweating bullets was very sloppy but apart from that e video was good
@@chassy50 the blackmail the universe one was a bit sloppy too inho, it’s played with a pick trill too instead of tapping
Dave doesn't use pick trill, he uses the alternate tapping-pull off kinda technique
Chosen ones is a very underrated song with a spectacular solo.
Great video bro
I almost put it in this list hahaha! Thanks man
Badass video man! And good choice putting Blackmail the Universe in this list!
Thanks dude!!!
I don't know why does Dave mustaine use the chromatic scale way better than Kerry king
Amazing tone combined with a shit ton of talent and some of the best guitar faces I've ever seen
Hahaha thanks a lot 🤘🤘🤘
That Devil's Island solo is so nasty I love it 😍

Thanks man! The cover got sick! I didnt know about it.
That's a good one. The vocalist later formed Nevermore. RIP Warrel

Great video, but I gotta say So Far, So Good, So What is my favorite Megadeth album. I know Dave hated the production, but there are so many great songs on it.
I really like this album as well!
Why he hated production? Doesn't he make remaster of this album?

Man that Burnt Ice solo is tough, the fact that Dave even at his 50’s or 60’s can play it and headbang at the same time is just amazing.
Dave Mustaine top solos. Metallica.
😂😂😂😂
XD
XD
Kavo?
Well it's true
Kick the chair forever underrated never forgotten :(.
yes very good solo
1:32 mustaine's signature phrase.
Yesss!
DAVE MUSTAINE IS MY GREATEST GUITAR IDOL EVER.🤘🤘🤘🤘☢️☢️☢️☢️
I need a part two with Rattlehead & Chosen Ones
You missed Lucretia by Marty and Dave back to back, which together are the most fun, unique and badass solos in all of Megadeth IMHO.
too bad many people hate Dave's solo in Lucretia, they find it unnecessary, thought it was fun to play tho
Good morning black friday...the intro solo
Good one as well, but that is Chris Poland. Dave comes in after!
@@ligamentpull1 naw Chris is doing fills in the beginning, and then face rips into a solo
Since this does not say 'best Dave Mustaine solos in Megadeth', where the hell is The Four Horsemen?
The Burnt Ice solo is massively slept on. I know it's a repetitive lick but it makes quite a statement considering that's literally the last thing you hear before the album ends.
PS: Only now realizing how much the beginning of the My Last Words solo sounds like Rising Force LOL
this deserves more views
🙌🙌🙌🙌
Of course.
My last words' first solo lick really sounds like the one on Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force
Wow Excellent buddy 😍 love from 🇵🇰🤘🎸🎶
Where is lucretia
In my humble opinion, Mustaine's solo on Lucretia is not one of his top 10 🤪
Washington is next has one of the stretchiest solos ever
Totally! Only playable with the thumb haha
5:46 holy heck how did you get that part? I can manage to play the whole solo decently well but the first part always gets me, like is it harmonic+ bending on 17? I can't figure it out
I think on the recording Dave is just really digging in with his pick and doing accidental harmonics

eyy burnt ice
Love this solo
I would add in my darkest hour solo somewhere
Amazing picks but my two favourites are Bad Omen and Dystopia
the best solo of Megadeth is Tornado of Souls
Out of all of the 10 solos you presented, Five Magics is my favorite
Nice playing and nice list. Good video my man!
Thank you!!!!

Ikr, I love all their albums, even Risk, 13 and Super Collider. Youthanasia is my absolute fav.
Wake up dead , My last words solos are my fav
My favorites Holy Wars, The Conjuring, Good Morning/Black Friday. I need to relearn the 5 Magics solo.
All great solos, but my personal favorite is his solo on The Killing Road, short but powerful and melodic, in my opinion that's the perfect solo.
Needs honourable mention for Sanctuary White Rabbit.
Burnt Ice is my favourite.
The hardest for sure haha!
this track is so underrated.... "With just one hit the pain would go away
