Even here in the US (I live in Brooklyn, close to sheepshead Bay Area where there are a ton of Russians, Ukrainians etc) many of the Russians were spouting whatever they heard from RT.
It's a shame to see the statue torn down, as despite the current crisis, it represented what many Russians and Ukrainians would consider to be better times.
