I've been on a sci-fi kick lately, so this horror season I'm jumping into alot of sci-fi horror stuff like re-watching the Alien movies and playing the dead space remake as well as finally reading the the second and third books of the Three body problem trilogy by Liu Cixin, although they're not considered horror, Ive heard that these books have some great cosmic horror stuff in them which I'm such a sucker for!

I love when sci-fi and horror meet. Alien is a perfect example of why that can be so affective.

I'm going to re-read a book I read when I was a teenager, Sins of the Flesh by Don Davis & Jay Davis. You should read Frankenstein!

I’m ashamed to say I’ve never read Frankenstein or The Haunting of Hill House. Both are at the top of my list! I will try to squeeze one in this year. Always good to hear from you!

Recently found out this channel, i quite enjoy it here, cheers! Anyways, started off the month with "Disturb Not the Dream" by Paula Trachtman ... enjoyed it although wasn't that scary as it's tragic and perverse :D Finished the "The Last House on Needless Street" by Catriona Ward and enjoyed that one much more.Taking a break for a day or two now, then i have "The Hellbound Heart" by Barker, "Rosemary's Baby", "Joyride" by Ketchum, "Intensity" by Koontz and a couple more. I rarely read horror, but lately i decided to switch it up a bit, especially for October. Adam Nevill's books are supposed to be very good, but i've yet to read one of them. "Between Two Fires" has me intrigued, and as for a recommendation for something religious maybe check out "The Monk" by Lewis. o /

I’ve started my reading with The Hound of the Baskervilles, then I’m going to read Salem’s Lot. I’ve never read it, but the movie freaked me out as a kid.

Oh you are in for a treat! Salems Lot is one of Kings best. I kinda wanna watch the new movie that just dropped but I’m afraid it’ll be bad. I loved that old Toby Hooper movie though.

I just read Hound of the Baskervilles about a month ago, it was pretty good, I was surprised. It has some really creepy moments and very atmospheric! Have fun with Salem's Lot, that's a good one too!📚

First horror book I picked up for the season is The Terror by Dan Simmons. After that I might pick up a Joe Hill or a Japanese horror book.

I’m so glad you like it. The ending is very strong. Make sure you drink some lemon water so you don’t catch scurvy

Ira Levin is a fantastic writer. Although super short and more of a novella The Stepford Wives is good as well. Rosemary's baby is one of my favorite movies of all time. Curious about Hex, let us know how you liked it. I just picked up a thriller called Red River Road. It is about a girl who goes missing after doing van life. I am obsessed with van life videos (lol) on YT, so it sounded interesting and up my alley. Also, I have The Watchers by A.M Shine, All Hallows by Christopher Golden, The Madness by Dawn Kurtagich, and Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak on my TBR. I also grabbed some Goosebumps classics just for the fun and nostalgia of it. These books were after my time. I was in my late teens and early 20's when they came out, but I still like to read them and watch the show around Halloween. I tried to get We Used To Live Here by Marcus Kliewer from my library but it has been on hold now for a month and still haven't been able to get it. There are a ton of holds on it, most likely because they are making a movie for it? Hopefully I can get ahold of it soon. I DNF'd The September House by Carissa Orlando. It just wasn't what I thought it would be and after about 50 pages I just wasn't interested. I keep hearing how good it is, so maybe I will try again at some point. Have you read it? If so, what did you think? Congrats on 400 subs. Yes, I love horror, keep the horror book vids coming!

I actually do own a copy of The September House! I’ve heard mostly positive recommendations for it but I haven’t read it yet. I feel like I’m pretty critical so who knows maybe I will be let down but I sure do love haunted houses. Unfortunately I feel like I have to read it in September, right? It sounds like you have some great books in your tbr though!

@blackbeltreads Well, i started reading it in September, so yes. 😆. I'll wait until next year to see what you think. 😀👍

I want to read Between two fires, i read Those across the river by same author and i LOVED that book! Buelman isn't talked about much and i don't get why he isn't. Im re reading Algernon Blackwood stories, The Willows, The Wendigo, and The Listener, all 3 of his short stories in one book. Also finishing up Drawing Blood by Poppy Brite. Love the video, great picks! 🖤📚

You have some great stuff there! I really do need to read more of Buelmans books seeing as how much I love Between Two Fires

Turning to the Classics this horror season to avoid anything cozy, fluffy, pumpkin spiced or otherwise cutesy. I'll start with "The Fall of the House of Usher" and will read my way through a few short stories by Shirley Jackson, Daphne du Maurier, Algernon Blackwood and others. Currently, I'm in the middle of "We Spread" by Iain Reid.Huuuh. Creepy.
Maybe, I'll add the Rotter House to my list. I'm a bit short of haunted houses that really haunt me. Thanks for your recommendations and congrats on the 400 subscibers! :)

I like your taste, I think I’ll add a classic to my Oct list. Maybe Frankenstein or some Poe like yourself.
