MC Eiht detailed a violent encounter involving his producer, DJ Unknown, and Death Row Records. Eiht reflected on how the rap scene's turbulent early days would have intensified if magnified by modern social media. He recounted an incident where DJ Unknown was assaulted by Death Row affiliates after failing to produce music on time for Suge Knight. DJ Unknown, an executive producer for Compton's Most Wanted's "Music to Driveby," had been juggling projects, leading to delays in his work for Death Row.
The conflict escalated when DJ Unknown confessed his prioritization of Compton's Most Wanted to Knight, resulting in a physical altercation and Unknown showing up at the studio with a black eye. Eiht expressed mixed emotions, noting ongoing disputes with Unknown over publishing rights, which he claimed were underhandedly taken from him when he was a naive 17-year-old artist. Despite the tensions, Eiht chose not to retaliate with violence, acknowledging maturity and legal repercussions.
When he took his glasses off we were like.....dayyymn.
Spoken like a grown Man. MC Eiht this should go viral.
adding a page to a contract after it's been signed is such a sneaky move.
Social media ruined women, life and relationships

@@JavonHolland
Some of these dudes been Zesty
I wouldn't necessarily say social media is solely response for ruining women because some women have reservations about what they post. The women that wild out on SM were already ruined. I do agree with the relationship part for sure💯
@@fyreleomh1896 C'mon be serious how many women today walk around without a phone in their face
Appreciate Eiht dropping that 3-2 and Big Mike knowledge. H-Town knew all the stories about them being with Deathrow back then.

Fck me vlad not knowing who big mike replaced in the geto boys, embarrassing 🤦🏻♂️

And question Eiht when Eiht worked with Face and on a Source mag cover with him at that time

Music to drive by was 8s best work ever. Classic album.
It is.
We come strapped is it's equal
Straight Checkin Em was even better. Eiht had string of classic albums.
So I bought "Music to Drive By" the day that it dropped and this entire time, I thought Unknown did all those sick azz beats when it was actually DJ slip, that's crazy.
Guess you didn't look in the linear notes it shows Slip basically did the first half and then Unknown for the second plus Ric Roc did a couple tracks as well but yeah that's crazy if Unknown didn't produce any of it
Don't forget Boom,Bap, and Chill.
@@Golions2084 They're not producers
is dj slip still active with eight?
@tj5579 Well, it's been like 30 years since I've had the album, but I did read the inside jacket and maybe I misread it, but it looked like Unknown did mostly all the beats and DJ slip was doing the scratching. Similar to NWA with Dre doing all the beats and Yella doing all the scratching. The only song that I knew for a fact Slip produced was "N2 deep" featuring Scarface because they talked about it in an interview , which happens to be my second favorite song off the album.

That news about unknown and the publishing hurt my feelings dam.
I always wondered why the CMW albums stopped.
I wish 8 would talk more about DJ Slip/Unknown and the creative process in the studio. My favorite 90s West Coast beat selections are heavily MC Eiht projects. That music just had an additional element to it, almost like the songs were supposed to be movies. Combined with Eihts penmanship each song was a mini movie. From Compton Cyko to Compton Bomb. Just glorious music. I wanna learn from that team who created that music. Nothing like it today.

Big Mike's 1st two albums are underatted classics
All this drama and set tripping at 1990s Death Row Records, why tf did MC Eiht say Death Row Records was a better record label than Ruthless Records, in an interview.
MC Eiht and Tha Chill was very close with the late Eazy-E and MC Ren, especially Tha Chill and MC Ren. MC Eiht, later on, even wrote for Eazy-E. On top of that MC Eiht, Tha Chill, the late Eazy-E and MC Ren was/is all Crips from Compton, California, and for the most part, Crips from Compton, in their era, all got along.
Strange how Vlad always tries to dispute what these guys say but when Vanilla Ice was saying nonsense and lying he never pulled that let me look it up bs

It's very serious to me when it comes to punctuation. My family would hit me upside my head if I didn't speak correctly. So I can't tolerate when adults sound dumb. Big Mike is a legend
While Big Mike & 3-2 were waiting for all the red tape regarding getting Dre out of his Ruthless contract they featured on Chocolate's album and did a couple of tracks with Snoop and them. They left coz Big Mike got the call to replace Willie D for Til Death Do Us Part. They left leaving behind nothing but a few features and a bag for of lingo that Snoop took.
