What about the title of the clubhouse on third street? I heard someone say sandy had it put in his name. Maybe it was his to begin with. I went to the benefit for Sandy’s kid that fell out of a window, Garcia was there, the show ended with the sun coming up on 14th street.
I knew a guy 30+ years ago who showed me a shoebox full of letters from Sandy from prison. I remember he told me Sandy lost his patch over the deed to the clubhouse.
The impression I get from these stories and books I’ve read in the pass. George was earning respect in the club for being a fair and grounded person where Sonny was using fear to demand respect.
