Good video. Just got a cts3 primarily for this exact purpose (regen monitor/proactive activation). This was helpful. Especially the miles since regen gauge-was unaware of that.
@@SuperScoopydoopylove it. No issues thus far. And yes, can force regen. This is helpful as I use the truck around town quite a bit so I can force a regen if im on the highway and know i wont be again for another bunch of miles.
I did mine and same thing, same time frame and it went down to 5%......on a 40 mile trip back home it climbed back to 50%, over next few days of city driving it actually dropped back down to 15% and steadily climbed back up over next week agree 100%, let the driver determine when he wants to burn the crap out, at a time thats more convenient.....with all the technology they have should be easily doable
Going to the dealership tomorrow because I didn't allow it to regen properly, albeit it. This is my first diesel but now it's just stuck on a check engine light saying reduce speed. 2024 Duramax 6.6 Lisa
I'm having the same issue. "Engine Power Reduced" - Can you elaborate on how you "didn't allow it to regen properly"? Want to make sure I'm not running into this issue again
My opinion only… manual regens can be dangerous if not done correctly. I think this is why GM doesn’t allow this, to much liability. I have no clue why they didnt install a gauge for it on the 2023’s or older. I think they may show it on the new 24’s but cannot be certain.
Check out forscan... only on ford trucks it can be programmed to see dpf% while driving. And you can do a forced regen whenever you want. Why doesnt GM allow this
You can indeed, however, i would not recommend a forced regen unless its absolutely needed. You will create an intense amount of heat in the engine bay and exhaust area.
@nahdag67 I was able to figure it out and it did work, but you have to engage the regen mode while parked and ignition on /engine off then start up & go. it will then start to warm up and do a regen after a few minutes. ('22 L5P)

Awesome how do you like it? Does it have a forced regen option?

Awesome!! Thanks for the reply! 🍻
@@Trik157thank you for the reply to his comment. This sounds like something I should also snag.

Mine doesn’t regen ever since I deleted it.
I had mine deleted (2nd gen L5P) and it still regens
The drop from 12 to 2 percent could be passive regeneration...not certain about that. But it's a possibility.

Nice video! My LML will stay in regen once its parked
Banks iDash allows you to do a manual regen while driving
My question is, how come GM didn’t put DPF filter % display on the dash.. or a manual regen option

did you need to drill and add a probe for the EGTs?

Mine goes to 0% after a regeneration.
I was told you can do a manual park regen

Ya that's why they say open hood but they should have more options on regen
Can you force a regen while driving?
@@matthewpelz1073 I cant on my 24 L5P, i talked to edge customer service and they said theres no plans to add that feature.
