@@CelebratingAppalachia I agree with you Tipper because the way they are saying it to me if you didn't get your nap in that means you didn't get to have a nap at all. Getting your nap out means you got interrupted 🥱 that's my two cents lol
Not gettin your "nap out" is when you don't finish your nap. Not getting your "nap in" is when you never started it. Totally agree with Tipper. Don't forget, mama is always right!
As a very young child I can remember my Grammaw saying I was being ornery cuz I didn't get my nap out. As an adult, I find myself agitated if I don't get my nap in. Far as I'm concerned, both seem to be correct in the ways of Appalachia and God Bless you for giving us the ability to debate such a topic!
Yes, Tipper, it is getting a nap out. That’s when you go to sleep and get awakened before you’re done. Katie and Matt are certainly confused. 🤣 They are referring to getting to actually take a nap at all.
I grew up in a family that used that same term. If one of use woke up grumpy we’d be told we didn’t get our nap out. Tipper I’m on your side with that turn of phrase. God Bless
I agree with you Tipper. If you didn't get your nap in,you didn't get a nap. But if you didn't get your nap out, you didn't get enough sleep. We know what we're talking about!
I'm with Tipper. She's correct. Not getting your nap 'out' is not finishing your nap. Not getting your nap 'in' is missing your nap entirely. Sorry Katie and Matt. My wife and I enjoy your channel. We are located outside Augusta, Ga.
Team, “Didn’t get my nap out,” if I’d been asleep, but awakened prematurely. I, “Didn’t get a nap in,” if my schedule didn’t allow time for a nap and I’d not laid down, at all. The difference is actually being asleep or never being asleep. Cute video!
My mama always said,”she’s acting meaner than a 2 headed snake cuz she didn’t get her nap out.” Tipper is right y’all. Hugs from the southeast coast of Florida 😎🦩🌞🦩😎
Tipper, you are right. If you didn’t get a long enough nap, we would say you didn’t get your nap out. If you didn’t get a nap at all, you would say you didn’t get your nap in. This is one that you can tell Matt and Katie you definitely one.
I'm with you Tipper! It's "I didn't get my nap out" when you get awakened too soon. It's worst than not getting a nap at all. What they are doing to you is called "gaslighting". They are trying to convince you that there is something wrong with you! Don't let them win. You are right!! I wish I could have been there to back you up!
Me too, I was sitting here saying, "Tipper is right!!" They were double teaming you Tipper, and I would have liked to have been there to help you out! Lol
Tipper you are correct. “Not getting my nap out” became a shortened version of the sentence..I did not get to finish out my nap ( a nap that was already started). Getting a nap in ( Katie was right on this one) means you wanted to do it but couldn’t find time for it. Everyone I know in southwest corner of Virginia uses these two phrases ❤
Tipper, you are right, if you lay down for a nap, and you get woke up by someone or something, you didn’t get your nap out. I was raised in Oklahoma and that’s what my momma would say, and I’m 68, I’d know. 😂
Matt, this is just a suggestion for you, the problem with the predators trying to get into the chicken run under the fence, you could always take a couple of sheets of that tin and dig a trench lengthwise and place a sheet of that tin about a foot down so the predators would have more of a difficult time trying to burrow under the fence 😊
If you say you didn't get your nap out that means you didn't finish it. If you say you didn't get it in it means you didn't get it at all. You are correct, tipper!
Matt reminds me of my daddy. Hands in pockets, jingling pocket stuff. He and my momma were real in sync partners. Madly in love, and yet their quiet lapses were still loving.
Momma is right! Getting a “ nap in” means getting to take a nap… “ getting a nap out” means did not get to finish it.. was awakened before your nap was finished so you’re still tired. Tipper was correct! ❤ 2:14
I’m with Ms. Tipper on the “nap out” phrase. I’ve heard and said that all my life. Sam didn’t get his nap out so he’s wild as a buck, for example. Just means you didn’t finish your nap cause something woke you up. Enjoyed the little family pow wow and how you can get them to jump in and help with little chores. Amazing🤣. They love you it’s obvious and so sweet.
Love the videos where you’re just sitting around talking, even the periods of silence…makes me feel like I’m right there with you. Such a sweet family! ❤
Tipper..you are RIGHT. LOL.."nap out" is the right way if you went to sleep and was awakened early. Didn't get your Nap in means you totally missed your nap time . Loved the video as usual.❤️
Both are right for me. If I dont get a nap that day, I didn't get my nap in. If something wakes me up and I can't get back to sleep then I didn't get my nap out.
Tipper is exactly RIGHT. If you don't get to take a nap- you didn't get it IN. If you get awakened before you wanted to get up- you didn't get your nap OUT.
As a former O.R. nurse, I've helped fix several broken legs when a tree "kicks out" and takes your legs out from under you. That's only if it doesn't pin your leg in between the tree and the stump. I'm so glad you are hiring someone to do that for you. Put my vote in for "nap out". If you don't get your nap in, you don't get to sleep at all, but if you don't get your nap out you don't get to finish your nap.
YOU'RE RIGHT and I'VE USED THEM BOTH. 😁"I didn't get my nap out." = I didn't get to sleep long enough. "I didn't get my nap in." = I didn't get to include a nap in my schedule.🧡Tennessee Fields
I agree with you Tipper, if you didn’t get the nap finished … you didn’t get your nap “out.” But if you were busy, did other things you didn’t get your nap “ in” as in worked into your plans! 😃
You’re right about napping…if you took a nap and woke up to soon, I’ve always said I didn’t get my nap out…don’t let them mess with you…lol..enjoyed catching up on what’s been going on with y’all..🤗🤗

My late husband was a timber broker, and one of his employees 12:m52 was what we call a “sawyer.” He was a small wiry man that would ask where you wanted the tree to come down, make notches in the trunk, and put it in the exact spot. Tipper, I always say I didn't get my nap out! If you don't get a nap in, that means you didn't get to sleep at all. You are saying that you fell asleep but didn't finish out the nap. You are 100% correct!
I say didn't get my nap out too. It means you did get a nap but it was interrupted! To me when you say I didn't get my nap in it means I didn't actually get one! So funny that everyone is different about it. Grammy from Texas
Tipper I think you’re right about not getting your “nap out”. To me, it means maybe you laid down and maybe even a got a little sleep, but something interrupted you and you didn’t get your nap out. Didn’t get your “nap in” means you were so busy with other things, there just wasn’t time to take a nap. Just a little different but I’m with you on this! It is dangerous work cutting those massive trees down. We had 27 cut down on our property and I held my breath watching the men working. I give them so much respect for knowing how to cut them down safely.

I’m like you, Tipper. I try to like hot tea. I buy it because so many types are supposed to be healthy. I make it and try to sip it. But I just can’t enjoy it like so many seem to, and end up being poring it down the sink. AND I say I didn’t get my nap out, as in, didn’t get enough rest. LOL. 😂

Tipper, here in Kentucky we agree with you. If you didn’t sleep long enough you woke up grumpy cause you didn’t get your nap out! If you didn’t get the chance to take a nap, you didn’t get your nap in! Sorry Matt and Katie.
Y’all are hilarious! Tipper, I agree with your explanation. Sometimes I would love to take a little nap but, I have to fight it. It will mess me up and I’ll not sleep at night. I’m a newbie here and I’m really looking forward to seeing y’all put your garden in this year. God bless y’all! 😀❤️
Tipper, I totally agree with you…we always said “I didn’t get my nap out” if I was asleep and woke up too soon. I finally got my peat moss and compost tilled in my little garden last week. It has been raining so much I didn’t think I would ever get a chance. Hoping for a good harvest this year.
Your not wrong Tipper! It’s nap out!! The kids didn’t get their nap out and now they are cranky.. I hope you can get your raised beds built - how exciting
Love spending time with y’all today! I love my happy nappy every day. And if I don’t get my nap out I’m not happy, Tipper! Y’all put out a lot of work today! God bless and love to the Pressley fam!! 💕🤗🙏🏻
Tipper don't feel bad my Yankee raised husband is always correcting the way I talk. I talk the way my southern parents did. And yes if I don't get my nap out I'm cranky, hubby knows what that means. Thanks for the laugh, you remind me of my people. I wish they were still here.
Tipper, we agree with you about not getting "your nap out". Tell Matt and Katie they're wrong 😂

I agree with you Tipper, I have always heard the phrase "they didn't get their nap out"... Y’all are too funny 😂. Tipper, you are not wired wrong… it’s nap out 😂
When you don't get your nap in, you don't even lay/sit down for a nap. When you don't get your nap out, you didn't sleep long enough. God bless y'all.
You’re right, Tipper. I’ve always say I didn’t get my nap out. Sorry, Katie and Matt. LOL

Hey guys, we would say "nap in" even if it wasn't complete. 😁
100% agree on the nap.Younger I would fight it... and now older...I wish I could take naps....thank you for sharing this video..Cdog..🐶🧡💚

Thanks for another good video!
So glad you enjoyed visiting with us 😀
I loved it when Matt said, "I've worried about it, all I'm going to" and I know exactly how that feels. I've said she didn't get her nap out many times! Enjoyed this time together.
My family always said nap out if they were awaken from their nap. Planning to take a nap was "get a nap in today".
You’re right Tipper. If you start your nap and get woke up then you didn’t get your nap out. That’s the way I’ve always heard it and I come from a long line of nappers. Lol

I agree if you didn’t finish sleeping as long as you wanted, “you didn’t get your nap out”. We have said it all my life.
You all sound just like my family…….having fun over trivial “stuff”.
Tipper you are right!! We always said nap out. I still get crabby when I don't get my nap out. Katie and Matt are wrong

In England we would say if someone woke up grumpy that you didn't get your sleep out. If you hadn't had time for a nap at all you would say in.
Nap in, Nap out. I just want a nap now. LOL I so enjoy how y'all sit around and share your land with us. So beautiful.
😊 thank you
Thanks for catching up with us! Take care guys. I always enjoy these yard visits!😊🇨🇦
Thank you Gary 😀
I agree with you Tipper, I've always heard "didn't get my nap out".
😀 Thank you
Tipper, here in Kentucky we agree with you. If you didn’t sleep long enough you woke up grumpy cause you didn’t get your nap out! If you didn’t get the chance to take a nap, you didn’t get your nap in! Sorry Matt and Katie.
Lot of work . but it's satisfying isn't it. Love your place.
I didn't get my nap out today either. I wish I had!Tipper totally agree!😁
Thank you Wanda 😀
That is so funny that y’all say that We still tell our kids and grandkids that today
Yea tipper and family I been watching your videos and I love your story
Thanks so much Delores 😀
Tipper, I totally agree with you…we always said “I didn’t get my nap out” if I was asleep and woke up too soon. I finally got my peat moss and compost tilled in my little garden last week. It has been raining so much I didn’t think I would ever get a chance. Hoping for a good harvest this year.
Your not wrong Tipper! It’s nap out!!
The kids didn’t get their nap out and now they are cranky..
I hope you can get your raised beds built - how exciting
😀 thank you
Love spending time with y’all today! I love my happy nappy every day. And if I don’t get my nap out I’m not happy, Tipper! Y’all put out a lot of work today! God bless and love to the Pressley fam!! 💕🤗🙏🏻
Thank you 😊
Tipper don't feel bad my Yankee raised husband is always correcting the way I talk. I talk the way my southern parents did. And yes if I don't get my nap out I'm cranky, hubby knows what that means. Thanks for the laugh, you remind me of my people. I wish they were still here.
