for 160 dollars i think a mouse should be perfect at that point. when i got my copy of this mouse I had inconsistent clicks, bad rattling inside, clicking grinding, and this flex issue you mentioned. i even had some molding deformity on the scroll wheel lol there was a bit of rubber that wasnt cut properly so it was sticking out. i was disappointed
I used the Rival 310 for years, which has the best ergo shape for large hands imo. As my current mouse was faulty it was time to find a new one and I have been trying a LOT of mice. But I ended up with the EC1-C, which is my new favorite mouse. It really has a superb shape for large hands and is a true replacement for the no longer produced 310.
I had the same initial impression with the Vaxee x Sora collab mouse I got. The "logitech" effect on the mouse buttons was definitely a surprise to me, because literally everything else on my unit is absolutely perfect. The clicks are super spam-able, all the buttons feel amazing, the wireless tech feels spot on, coating, the list goes on. But yeah picking up and moving the mouse around, it constantly makes that plastic-y rattly noise every time you put your mouse back down on your pad. That and the middle mouse wheel button being super hard to press on the left side vs. the right side of the wheel and the encoder they used feels pretty meh to me. It's kinda like a more scratchy Zowie encoder with less mechanical feedback as well as feeling super hollow. Kinda odd. Other than that though, I absolutely enjoy everything else about the mouse personally. It's basically exactly what I was looking for for so many years. Despite those small issues I have with it, it's absolutely still my main mouse. I agree with you though specifically for this shape of mouse. The pulsar option is a much better deal and it doesn't make sense really to go with the Vaxee for so much more money.
My E1 disconnects randomly from the 4k receiver that came with it. I have yet to really troubleshoot that issue, but I will say my white copy has zero issues with build quality
It’s funny that Vaxee is usually praised for their build quality. I’ve had Outset (switch grinding), XE (horrible creaking), NP-01 (dead wheel click) and finally E1 (horrible sideclicks, loose and wobbly). So, not for me.
Watching this video and reading the comments is making me lean towards not buying the E1 and save some cash by buying a DAV3 Hyperspeed or Thorn 4k instead 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Hi The Techne, I've watched quite a few of your videos and enjoy your take on mice but i have to say i respectfully disagree with your overall review of the E1. In terms of your criticisms i will say i haven't experienced any flex or creaking on my copy using it under normal use but admittedly i've not prodded it with a force gauge meter lol and in terms of long term use, although i don't have a crystal ball, it doesn't appear to present any signs that worry me. The main button/mouse clicks feel great to me, light, crisp and spammable, among the nicest, if not the nicest i've felt on the 14 or so mice i've tried the last 14 months. I agree with you and other reviewers that the side buttons are a little mushy when pressed on their most outer edges but i don't feel they are at a level to be deal breaking. Not quite sure where you're coming at with the springy/rattling sound when tapped. Sure it seems a little different sounding, possibly a smidge louder than the Pulsar Xlite V3 Mini i have to hand but in no way does the E1 sound or feel like it's about to fall apart or cheap. Can't but help wonder if that's more a personal nit-pick than a fair criticism of the mouse tbh. Also can't agree that the E1 feels like a bad version or Chinese knock of an EC, it's main buttons and coating feel better than the actual Zowie EC2-CW i tried and overall quality seems about the same. It's definitely a step up quality wise to the standard edition Pulsar Xlite V3 models i used (Not that there's anything wrong with those as they are great too for what they are). Yes, Vaxee mice are not cheap but neither are many top mice from other companies and in no way does the E1 feel cheap or unrecommendable compared to those so kinda scratching my head at you coming to that conclusion. Almost wondered if it would say "This video was sponsored by Zowie" at the end of the video... Just pulling your leg on that one! :P Keep up the good work on the vids man and hope you have a happy new year!
I agree man, it’s such a great mouse. And as a big time ergo fan and user for years it just felt so incomplete. And like I said none of it really affected gameplay or use, but it just always felt off, and just cheap compared to many other ergos out there.
@@TheTechne Ah well, i gotta respect your opinion man even if it's different than my experience with the mouse and most other reviews out there of it but at least you stay true to what you feel and it's give people a differing viewpoint to throw into the mix. All the best!
@ thanks man. I try my best to stay away from other reviews or internet talk about products before I cover them, just don’t want them to steer me a different direction. Might not be a good practice, lol. Hype sells, and helps channels grow. Maybe I’m doing this all wrong 🤦♂️
bro the e1 is by far the most insane feeling ec shape on the market right now even fortnite zoomer nation boardzy is saying that. techne is just a sad old man at this point
@@TheTechneunfortunately that’s internet for you. Don’t let the hatera get to you. People sometimes forget that these are opinions and everyone should be entiltled to one without being harassed. I had E1 for few hours, it had horrible side buttons (loose and mushy) and the mouse 1 and 2 were too light. Fortunately got a refund.
Yeah I had the same experience with many other vaxee mice, but this one ehhhh not so much. I would love to say “it’s just mine” but I got a retail copy not an early copy and it’s just bad.

When 2025 comes are you going to do a full re review of the audeze Maxwell (are they still worth it in 2025 and how your sound adjusted) video idea.
just ordered mine. hope it has no flex tho. was already unlucky with my viper v3 pro and maya x

I'll hold out and grab the Pulsar X3
just wait for ec2-dw, and the game of ec2 clone will be over.
That monitor is sweet! I love my g pro too much that watching this review feels like cheating
At first glance almost had a stroke - thought it is my Lamzu Thorn, hehehe but it is not, so W. Not so good for E1 though. 😉
