- World champion Magnus Carlsen (NOR, 2864) won his first game of the 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 against Uruguay no.1 GM Georg Meier. In the second round, he was up against Italy no.1 GM Daniele Vocaturo (2616). It was the first time they faced each other in a tournament. How did they fare? Italy's Captain was Dutch legend GM Loek van Wely.

I'm new to chess, can i ask why they have so much time and why they keep going around instead of playing??
The position is a draw-if they play something else than those drawish moves they may ruin the position and lose-this is a very typical behaviour of super-grandmasters...

If both are on black square means black wins and if both on white square, white wins

That means if it is a draw then black king will be on black square and white king will on white square 🤔
