Weller WT2021 WT2M soldering station Bug and Poor Build Quality

- This video shows the poor build quality and bugs of Weller Professional Soldering station.
For the price the quality is poor and not worth investing into this system.
UPDATE:- I noticed the main cause for this is when I quickly do switch OFF/ON of unit, I do this quite often as irons will switch OFF when left ideal and the only way to power it back ON is to switch OFF and switch ON the unit. Somehow no button on the unit will enable soldering iron when it goes in OFF state (this is one of the most annoying features of this unit).

Weller will not give any answer. They have long since slipped ... Marriage is ubiquitous. Many masters are shocked by the "quality" of this office. Low quality at a High price! This slogan must be taken by WELLER!
totally understandable, the quality is not there at all, they are blotting the German reputation, nasty.
I would write them some professional emails about their "company politics".
In the OFF standby state, you need to press the UP and DOWN buttons at the same time to restart. The new WT series, except for a larger screen, are not as good as the old WD1 series in terms of construction quality and ease of use. The new features have not improved, and the build quality is worse.

it worked but pressing both buttons at the same time is not easy. It takes couple of tries to get it each time and it always changes the temperature setting. Will stick to On/Off sequence. Weller UI is pathetic.
@@DoTheDiy Yes, that's why I said that apart from having a larger and beautiful screen, its ease of use is not as good as the old WD 1 series, and its manufacturing quality is worse. This is the fate of many companies after being acquired by a consortium. Those managers only see the profits but not the inheritance of the brand.
Weller is really not good for the price. Dont know, why people still buy.
Flipping the power like this will crash the micro. Definitely not a "bright" thing to do.
If you had the station u will know. Once it enters standby->sleep then u have to reboot to make it work again, and this happens quite often when i work for long time as station keeps going in idle state i have to do this on/off to get along with my work. The genius at Weller could not give the resume feature via using the existing button on the unit. i cannot wait 2 sec when i am working on something so i always do quick on/off. Anyways i do not care much about the station when i compare with the recent Chinese clones flooding the market which offer superior quality at very little premium price. when you do not implement power-on reset (PoR) properly this will happen. Weller SUX
