  • We praise the heck out of the IFC Films drama "Ghostlight" on the CinemAddicts Podcast. Feature hits theaters June 14, 2024 in New York and Chicago and expands June 21, 2024.
Official plot synopsis: "When melancholic construction worker Dan finds himself drifting from his wife and daughter, he discovers community and purpose in a local theater’s production of Romeo and Juliet. As the drama onstage starts to mirror his own life, he and his family are forced to confront a personal loss."

I saw Ghostlight yesterday without knowing anything about it. Astounding acting by Kupferer. Best movie of 2024 so far!

What an Amazing movie! Very touching and felt so real. It kind of reminds me of the early 2000's movie "In the bedroom". I have to watch that movie again but I remember seeing that movie and feeling like I was watching a tragedy in front of my eyes, kind of like this movie made me feel.

Ghostlight is definitely a keeper. Looking forward to seeing it again. I still haven’t seen In The Bedroom but of course have seen only praise for that film.

@@DeepestDream not the same plot at all but there are similar feelings in the two movies. In the bedroom is more intense for sure.

Guys, in the final scene of the play in the film, I could have sworn I saw, in silhouette, off stage, the son. When the lights came up, it was one the actors. But he looks different from the silhouetted male. Did any of you catch that?

Will have to rewatch - what a great catch if they actually did that. Makes sense they would.
