Recently started collecting & today I picked up my first 3 Olympic coins (canoeing, tennis & wrestling) in £100 worth of 50's! I have never seen them before so I couldn't believe it to get them in one hit. Enjoying the vids- I'm learning a lot, keep it up 👍
Thanks for this video. In 1966 I started collecting pre decimal coins, mainly pennies. I'd save up my pocket money until I had a few Bob, go down to the local bank where the Staff kindly let me into a room, (gave me a glass of squash) with a HUGE bag of pennies I couldn't even lift. I'd sift through them and the ones I wanted I'd exchange with my pocket money. School & Military interrupted me collecting for years until I returned to permanent residency to resume my Want! I started collecting 50ps as soon as they started and have amassed quite a collection, including the Olympic collection. I think I'm one short. The Offside Rule I've been fortunate with and have 5 or 6, and I'm keeping the lot of them! I basically save anything British and have some East African coins as well; (father stationed there with the British Army) some with holes in the middle; maybe so they could be worn around the neck if the owners didn't have pockets. I also have a decent collection of Silver Thrupennies & Tanners (6d). I collect as it gives me satisfaction and a sense of history, not for financial gain. It's something to leave to my loved ones! Also due to injury I cannot undertake my passions of Scuba Diving, Archery, Ten Pin Bowling and other physical sports! I betcha a few other collectors may have similar stories to tell. Another excellent valuation video. I've used all this data to make a spreadsheet to keep track of my collection value. Could you do an up-to-date one for the rest of the 50p's and all the £2's with the mintage figures too please??
Just searched through my money jar containing £1000+, mostly £2 coins, but lots of 50p's. Found fencing, gymnastics and shooting all in good condition, they've been in there a few years.
Great video LAFTA. Nice to know up to date values 😊👍. I do have a couple of sets . Wheelchair Rugby is my favourite of the set . One that tends to stay in good condition probably because of its design.
An excellent video about a lot of peoples favourite set of coins, i am fortunate enough to have 5 full sets in fact i only need triathlon and Judo for 6 complete sets and i have 15 towards a 7th set,thanks for sharing this i think i may do a sheet dedicated to Olympics including the 3 £2 and the 2016 team GB olympic coin and the Tokyo coin i think that would be cool. Great up to date info on the 29 Olympic 50p’s. I would love to find the 2009 BP version. I have a nice set in an Olympic album and one full set in my coin hunt album no 1. 😎🍀💜
The Olympic 50p’s are pretty cool, I quite often change my mind which is my favourite!! I’ll say Basketball 🏀 with the textured finish Great stuff LAFTA 👍🏻
They're pricey for a reason! Only 1 football ever for me. I do wish I ahd kept a tally of all finds ever. Bit of a project to go back and count them all now via the videos!
I have a full set in a Royal Mint album and a second set in my coin album plus I have the completers medallion. Any idea what the medallion is worth please?
I have the full set, I got it last year around 27 pounds worth money in an auction here in Hungary. I guess here they do not have a clear idea how much they worth. I have another half set, in it I got football for less then 2 pounds. Crazy.
Q which word was replaced with friendship on the Olympic rowing 50p? I know the answer, but I thought I’d test your grey cells😀 It was nice to see an increase on a few of the coins just outside of the top 5. Goalball in particular. Keep it up buddy
I don’t have any yet but they are impossible to find in my change or at the bank…. Matter of fact I’ve never received any 50p back in change… Definitely a bucket list item to get them all. I do have a Sherlock, signed Benjamin bunny and a 70th jubilee 🤩 however I do find brand new minted 2017-2022 cents just laying around in car parks constantly and the occasional 5 cents and 25 cents 😂 thanks for the updates on the values do you have the expensive non circulation Olympic in your collection lafta? I Got the Table tennis coin and the £2 London underground Roundel, those are the 2 most value coins I've recieved from customers so they do show up now and again.
