It's not just Beret Girl, none of the female characters wear the classic Disney white gloves. In Goof Troop PJ's sister Pistol and mother Peg don't wear gloves. Neither does Roxanne from the previous movie. Also in this movie Goofy's love interest Sylvia doesn't wear gloves either.

The symbolism of the coin is not talked about often enough. She highlights the coin with the light and flicks it into the audience just like her words and PJ is the only one to catch it. Everyone else liked her poem but PJ Understood it. Then later while everyone else gives her compliments for getting rid of the bullies PJ just throws the coin up again and puts it back in his pocket. He understood the value of words, knew when to speak and when to remain silent, probably because of his tyrant of a dad. She saw it all and immediately knew that this is her guy. Brilliant writing.

1:47 that silent look between Max & Bobby is animated so perfectly. You can see all the history of friendship and brotherhood and banter between them in just those few frames, how they're besties but they get annoyed with each other all the damn time because they know each other too well.
The way her mouth crackles when she says "tart and tangy" is absolutely everything, it's such a subtle detail that (thanks to the voice actor) not only adds to the feeling of the scene, it also adds to her character. There's no doubt she had practiced that multiple times to get that realness and magnetism that captured the audience. (I mean seriously, just try it, it's freaking hard) Not to mention the intonation and pacing of everything stressing her imagery to make it more palatable. Absolutely gobsmacked with how much effort it must have taken to get that take, just spectacular 👌 That is to say, I really love that scene

Unfortunately in this day and age, too many mentally-impaired and emotionally-constipated girls attempt to "flirt" by just staring at us men, do nothing and expect us to do everything, then will complain when men either don't get thing or disappear by the bunch. Fortunately, I've been lucky enough that like 3 girls have flirted with me and they have found my obliviousness cute and interesting, which translated into 3 relationships I remember fondly, each with its ups and downs. Only once did I flirt with one I liked, and thankfully were my feelings reciprocated.
What I like about this video is how PJ grows a spine and becomes much more confident after he ends up in a relationship with the beret girl. Until he met her PJ despite having Max and Bobby for friends was deep down a shy guy as he clearly acted awkwardly and notice how he is standing well apart from his friends and the Beret Girl? That suggests he has low self esteem and finds it hard to be in social interactions. However once he is hooked up with his new girlfriend he comes out of his shell and becomes more confident and has more belief in himself and it temporarily shatters when Max decides to leave the campus. Anyone can build confidence and grow a backbone when they put their mind to it.
I also feel like he was always a closet poet. At first you might think he learned poetry just to impress her, but the way he says it so smoothly I think he strikes me as someone who liked reading books and poetry. I think he never expressed this side before because he didn't want to be made fun of by his friends or Father because poetry wouldn't be considered manly. Plus as smooth as he was, that can't be learned that quickly in a day.

Some of you never watched Goof Troop and it shows, Pete's wife is something you need to see to believe, if PJ doesn't have the upbringing that he did he'd never in a million years pass the charisma check needed to get the attention of beret girl. Say what you will about Pete, but he definitely taught his boy the game.
It always bugged me that Beret girl never got a name. Even in the end credits she doesn't have one. So, in my mind her name is Patricia.
That's actually a lovely name. I'd name her with either a flower or a stone's name.

@@jaredreisinger6745 Either that or they simply broke off seeing as they were both in their teens when they started dating and they probably realized theirs was a simple childhood crush rather than a serious romance. Also there's the fact that in the third Goofy movie Max brings his new girlfriend to meet up with Goofy which suggests he and Roxanne parted ways a long while ago.

@@jaredreisinger6745 Yeah that's it although the animation is in 3D rather than handrawn like the first 2 movies so some would argue it could be seen as a standalone story that doesn't necessarily tie in with both A Goofy Movie and An Extremely Goofy Movie.

Fanfic time.
Max got a degree in graphic design. He chose it because it’s a stable job. He hopes to design album covers one day. Him and Roxanne did eventually get together, but this is his second marriage and her third. He has two kids, one with Roxanne and one from his previous marriage.
Bobby had a rough time in college. He had trouble in class in general. He came out as bisexual in his third year and dropped out shortly after. He currently owns a pizza restaurant in the city.
PJ and Beret Girl got married after two years of dating. They have three children together. They both work in the music industry. PJ is a producer and she is a songwriter.
And no doubt be a better father than his own. Seriously Pete makes Buck Cluck look like Marlin the clownfish.
I love how instead of just giving her his name, PJ communicated with her in her own language and instead told her something much deeper and more profound about himself. One, it shows intelligence. Two, it shows he cares about her interests. Three, it dives beyond shallow-tide flirting and opens a door to his inner self(I myself respect a guy who knows how to be unabashedly vulnerable).

I really feel PJ is such an underrated character that deserves so much better. He's had a tough time having to deal with his father's demands and doesn't show any emotional connection towards him, unlike Max and Goofy's relationship. I hope he finds true happiness one day.
