Trangia burner is doing a fabulous job in the vid, just like a hobo stove made of an old tin can or 3 stones would do with a trangia burner... Would love to see a twig fire in that nano instead..

Nice review and demo. We wholeheartedly agree with the Nano being an awesome little workhorse of a folding stove that will hold up for years, whether using wood or an alcohol burner. The overkill mod is pretty awesome, too. IMHO recommend getting the full kit with the x-case. Love the kettle...

For all the camping stoves I've tried?, I settled with this small stove YET it's one of the very best stoves ever designed tbh! Steve Despain of Firebox stove knows engineering and he's an actually inventor as well and struck gold when he created the Firebox series of stoves that the Common man can use and a very versatile stove as well. You can use an array of different types of fuel from wood to methylated alcohol to gas canisters. I'm just glad I got a couple of these stoves and I'm planning to get one of Steve's scout stoves....

Always have mine in the car. It is ideal for a quick brew. I have used methylated spirit (de-nature alcohol) but I now prefere bioethanol. It doesn't smell as bad as meths. Yep, this stove is the best, most versatile stove yet.

When I learned that many folks use yellow bottle Heat gasline antifreeze as fuel for their Trangia, I had to get one.
Realizing how compact the burner is, I had to get a Nano X box version even though I have a G2 5" FB.
I'm glad I did. It fits right in my canteen kitbag pouch...and got me off and running setting up my day pack.
Even though I got the X box Nano, I got the little nylon pouch that only fits the Nano itself/sticks. With it's D ring/weather resistant it's great for holding my fishing license vs "now where'd I put that thing".
I just have to remember to set up the wind screen before I crack a beer.
The skewers are quite pointy and takes a bit of practice setting it up. (-:

I bought the Titanium nano, and leather case years ago... Always stays in my pack with a trangia ...best small setup that burns so many fuels ... There is also a burner that fits the bottom to run canister fuel

I have yet to pull the trigger on anything titanium but I own at least 3 of everything he makes I’m seriously loving his stoves. I do not care about the weight so I’d rather save the money but I am curious as to how different It performs compared to his stainless steel

I love mine! Works great with both the trangia spirit burner & the trangia gas burner sold on Fireboxstove.com I like to use both! Couple tips you can put the nano fire sticks inside the nano and they fold inside the stove and you can also buy one of the smaller bic lighters that fits perfectly in the case where you originally place your fire sticks in the video 🤙

I kind of believe a modern wood fueled firebox stove, whether folding or otherwise should be structured as a rocket stove with the secondary burn area which burns the woodgas produced by the crude first burn in the firebox. Not only would that be more efficient but it would produce a steadier cleaner burn at the base of the pots and pans which should result in more consistent cooking and less soot. With what we now know about combustion, we can do better.
Also, the true test of a wood firebox is to used foraged twigs instead of furl that you bring. Of course, in practice, it's probably best to just put some sort of can burner with alcohol as the fuel simply so that you can cool it down quickly and reserve unused furl for later.

@@JBOutdoorsAndMore I will grant that a simple firebox like this one, does have the advantage of using an alcohol burner, either a can or porous stone, or solid fuel cubes which both would be more convenient than using wood, especially on short trips. It's just that for actual wood use, I think the rocket stove concept is more efficient. I can see why you favour this simple wood stove though and for most uses aside from the SHTF prepper where the need for fuel foraging is sustained, this stove would make far more sense.

Okay, I don't get it. It looks like a contraption to hold a trangia burner a few inches off the ground. I can't see any benefits, and certainly nothing in the video shows any compared to e.g. just using your trangia?

Since you asked. I do not much like it I have not had luck with those spindly legs. To tell the truth I have had a lot more luck with my home made gasifier. That didn't cost me anything. It is even better than my Silver fire rocket stove and the scout.
