You'll want an illuminate pokemon like Morelull holding a smoke ball at the level of the starter you're hunting, then spray repels so your only encounters are the starters.

Galvantula is fantastic! Compound eyes is an incredible ability. My favourite bug type is Leavanny, because it's underrated and swords dance/X-scissor/leaf blade makes for an insane combination. Volcarona is next because well... Volcarona. Gen 5 bug types >>>

Just want to say how much I love your videos! I love how much detail and effort you actually put into them. You're not just running through the game with a team and counting off exactly what happens; you include some funny dad jokes, references, talk to the viewers, and even include some losses! You don't just make the same stale recycled Pokemon "__" with Shiny Pokemon, you actually add something to it! I really love that!

Gen 7 went really hard with bug types, though. Ribombee, Vikavolt, Golisopod, and Araquanid are all sick, and that’s not even mentioning the ultra beasts

My favorite bug would have to be either Scyther or Heracross. Scyther might be my favorite design of a bug Pokemon, simple yet impressive at the same time. Heracross is an absolute monster, and how early you get access to it is nutty.
That Caleb and Ezra got me on edge if the theme wasn't SW Rebels but then it clicked

For non run instances, issues with recoil dmg hunts? Smeargle + recoil moves + imprison = eazy false swipe catching, makes finishing the pokedex's shiny side eazier
honestly a all bug type run would be doable since the hardest boss normally is weak to bugs, and the only only real obsticles would be the fire trial and the flying elite four.
My favorite is Escavalier, looks awesome and reminds me of Gaia the fierce knight from Yu Gi Oh one of my favorite shows of my childhood and card game in general
I've always been drawn to Scizor just due to design and typing but I am also a huge Volcarona fan. Love me some gen 5 pokemon.

My favorite bug also comes from gen5. Karrablast/Escavalier. Does suck being 4X weak to fire, but it does have some pretty good defense. And set up a trick room for him, and he could almost sweep. Plus, just look at those joists of his. On that note, Mega Beedril just looks awesome, and is glass cannon beauty. Even though bug type is one of my favorite typings, there actually isn't that many bug types that I like to use. But I have been wanting to do a mono bug on some game at some point.
I actually really love to do Bug type runs over the generations although I'm not careful or patient enough to nuzlocke them

I also got a sugestion, do a run with just one species! Like do a run where you only use shiny grubbin or rockruff or the starter or lycanroc or well pick your choise, y could do a full 6 shiny magikarp run heheheheheheheh!, infact thad be the best, full 6X shiny magikarp! 😂 itll be a chalenge for it is hard and a battle against boredom because 6 useless golden fish will not be kind to the clock, having to fish them all up being limited to using a randomizer to give yourself a non shiny locked magicarp as replacement
Love the series! May I ask to add the number of encounters you took before finding a shiny or the time spent, it's always the most intresting part to see how long a hunt took! My favourite shiny bug type is the venipede line, I love all of them!

I played a causal poison only run of white 2 and managed to stumble upon a full odds shiny venipede. Scolipede has an amazing shiny and gen 5 did not mess around with its bug types
I love PLL one of my favorite shows even though the last 2 seasons aren’t that good. However still recommend it since your opinion might differ slightly from mine. Good on the run I would never do a shiny only even we with increased odds since it takes so long to find and I don’t have the patience for it.

im both proud and ashamed of myself for guessing the name theme based solely on Mona XD what can i say, Mona Vanderwaal is awful and entertaining and i love her.
also as for fave bugs, i definitely feel gen 7 was the start of great things for bugs, and araquanid and golisopod are wonderful. galvantula is also a fantastic choice and joltik is adorable ^^ but my fave is probably tied between vivillon and spewpa. i had one in a failed nuzlocke that i named burrito cuz spewpa looks like it's wrapped in a blanket burrito, and ever since i've been super attached to the mons
