Awesome review Bob! You made a great point about how this camera can't be plugged into a power source while recording long videos (cancels out the feature of no limit video recording). Otherwise this looks like a great all-rounder everyday carry camera for photography and social media video. I have no digital Olympus cameras, so the concern of marginal upgrades from the OM5 Mark iii is irrelevant to me. I am looking for something more lighter and smaller than my Nikon D850 and D800E - although they are great cameras for work (editorial, events, studio etc.), using them for everyday use feels like driving a huge utility work truck to a cottage when I am on vacation 😅
To mitigate the on off switch ennoyance you can find in the options an auto sleep functions, set it on the fastest and you will save a ton of battery on top of that.
Hello, how are you? I have the Om5 system and also the Omd5 Mark ll. I have compared the dynamic range of the two cameras and the noise at high iso and in low light and I can't understand why the Omd5 Mark ll still has a better dynamic range and better response to noise... I have tested both cameras with the 12-40 f/2.8 lens. I have used the same parameters on both cameras. It's incredible how the Omd5 Mark ll far surpasses it. Am I configuring the Om5 wrong..??? Is it a sensor problem?? Thank you very much.
Waiting for the new om5 mk2. Not gonna buy new in 2024 late a line of cameras that has been repeatedly limited in favor of the om1 line. I just want a proper om5. Those cameras were the same as 4 years ago but 300e cheaper.
This cameras is a bit dated as Chris Nichols and Jordan Drake said when they did their review. - No USB-C for power and data speed - No headphone Jack - The settings cannot be changed using touchscreen - no 4K 60p - no 10 bit video 4K video recording with OM Log - no joystick This camera for vlogging and RUclips is average as you noted. You can live with the above cons but not at a price of €1299. Fuji x-s20 is selling for the same price. This camera should have a suggested price around €1000 or lower.
Id still go with OM5, coz Fuji lens selection for anything besides street primes is a joke, especially high quality zooms. Plus the worst viewfinder Ive expirienced in my life.
@@m4rcin847 THe target audience of X-S10, X-S20 is the street, vloging and holiday camera. For this you dont need telezooms for photographing birds. What lenses do you miss for Fuji? Problem with OM is that it is a dying company without any R&D resources which means on the long run within 5 years it will be a second Pentax. Releasing the same camera. So OM is a risky investment for the future.
Thanks Bob…looking forward to your updated videos with this camera! Wide lens…try the Pan 9mm!
Great review Bob. Looking forward to more with different lenses. Your right about the size of the camera, very controllable. Thank you.
Ah this was great, Bob. Thank you.

Same sensor as the OM-1?
No, like em1 3 and em1x. Past generation non stacked 20 Mp
