I took the plunge and switched to Chrome OS last year after being a lifelong Windows user. I performed pretty heavy office work on my Windows PC's, and my career depended upon them. Since making the switch to Chrome OS, I have not encountered anything that I was able to do on a Windows PC that I cannot do on a Chromebook. Yes, there were some growing pains in that if there was a certain Windows app that I was used to using and could not use on a Chromebook, I would have to search the Chrome web store and/or the Google Play Store for its Android app equivalent. However, now that I am more well-versed in Chrome OS, I rarely have any problems finding the right app for the job. My biggest struggle was finding an equivalent PDF program for Adobe Pro. However, . I have found that Xodo Docs and Officesuite Pro PDF work great as alternatives.I have a Google Pixelbook as well as an Acer Chromebook 15 and I use both of them daily. I'm never going back to Windows! Thank you for the great video.
Me also 🔥
i have happily used my chromebook for over 2 years now and it has held up fine. it has survived falling off my desk and having water spilled on it. this laptop is great as all i do really is browse chrome and mostly game on my xbox or pc.
Strongly considering making Chromebooks a standard at the office I work in. For designers and other media editors, you can have Apple machines running in a safe place and remote desktop from your Chromebook when needed! Huge fan of these little speedy things!
I am a college student who recently made the transition from Windows to Chrome OS - it was an adjustment but I am loving it so far. Thanks to a laptop scholarship provided by my University I was able to get the Google Pixelbook, of which I appreciate every aspect regarding both hardware and software.
I use an Asus Flip C302 as my primary device and I love it! the Google Play Store update is MUCH better, I can get everything done quicker now, I do light photo editing with VSCO and use social media as well. A lot of people think that they need a Windows or Mac laptop to do their work on when in reality they can get everything they need done just on a Chromebook. Very helpful video, thank you.
I just got a Pixelbook and DAMN is it incredible! My first Chromebook experience...but Android apps is what really swayed me. I'm loving it!
I would not use Chromebook but you made it look great. Awesome video, man.
Use one and you will find out.

Yep, experience is everything. That is why it is important to learn multiple different options like windows and Mac instead of just one. Knowing strengths and weaknesses of each, and how different people percieve them from different backgrounds that may not evolve tech literacy.
The truly intelligent people embrace different experiences to truly become superior.
Rich and poor
Dumb and smart
Emotional and not
Bodybuilder, fat, skinny,vegan
Understanding the people's perceptions too who fit these categories. RUclips helps with many different experiences. Also staying less emotional has helped me not trigger emotionally and your mind closes when this happens. Everyone experiences emotional trigger..... everyone. Each group just believes the other group gets triggered, but that is viewing it from their perspective alone! Lol...life is funny.
TechLineHD me too I use an I phone so I would not have iTunes and They’re not terrible it’s just I don’t have all the apps that I use
just install windows/linux on it if it has an intel chipset and has the space for it and wala
Richard Servello I use one at school and your wrong
I love Chrome OS. Been using the Asus Chromebox with Chrome OS and Linux Deepin with zero issues. I wouldn't use Linux if this older device supported Android. My next computer will be a Chromebook that supports Android. I love super fast startups. You can do a lot within Chrome, and more things are becoming possible all the time, like CAD with Onshape. Most people should use a Chrome OS device, since the majority of computer users are only using the browser anyways.
Ben Adriance you're forced to only use chrome. The apps are just scaled up phone apps.
that's the whole point of a chromebook. if you don't want to use chrome or run linux on it, than its definitely not the machine for you.
And an iPad runs scaled up phone apps. What's your point?
Ben Adriance ooo, a chromeBOX?
Ben, I think chromebooks run Linux pretty well
How do you clean your glasses? Mine are so hard to clean when they get fingerprints
Homer Simpson microfiber cloth and soapy water if you want
Clean cloth that came with them, plus either "hot mouth air (lol)" or clean spray bottle.
Is this real? Do you realy asking him about: How to clean glasses? WHAT THE FUCK????
glasses cleaner and microfiber cloth
I usually run them under the sink and use my shirt or toilet paper to clean them.
I bought a Chromebook just because I wanted a small web laptop around the house instead of using my gaming desktop. It took a little bit to get used to the speed of the Samsung Chromebook 3, but fell in love with how simple it was. I take it everywhere with me now and instead of using my phone then I usually just do a WiFi hotspot.
My favorite wallpaper of all time. Got into it when Lollipop launched with material design.
I rely on professional programs for what I call a non profit business "social media" like Lightroom CC, Photoshop, Xcode, Resolve, Blender, iMovie, Premiere Pro, etc mostly everyday which are ran on two separate PCs and one Mac. But I realized that I don't need to always use my high end PCs for things like Lightroom and Photoshop because I've been starting to use mobile applications for some light photo editing. So I decided to go buy a Chromebook for $189 in hopes of something fast enough for basic task as this was my first laptop. All I thought was "Im going to just use this for the web" But I realized now that it does more than just browse the web.
Thanks
And who said you can't have a powerful PC and a supplemental device. I do. I have a powerful desktop. An Origin Laptop. And a Pixelbook. Pixelbook is my daily portable. Laptop is my power "portable" and desktop is my sit down office PC. They all have a use.
if you like a good video editor with tons of features check out Lumafusion on the Apple App store for iOS. I use it for my videos and I use Affinity Photo and Pixelmator for making thumbnails and photo editing. Check those out too.
I miss the old Canoopsy. His face was so pudgy.
He was going thru some thangs!!! Lol
I like the idea of Chromebooks but I still say some need a DVD and/or BluRay player and more SSD storage (Yes I know portable drives exist, not the point though if you wanna make it more portable and easy to use!) as 16 to 64 gigs is not enough room if you do not have access to WiFi and LAN or Cellular is not easy to get a hold off!!!
I look forward to finding a chromebook one day with Cellular Connectivity built in again I know cellular usb devices and cellular wifi devices exist but it is about making it easy to carry and travel with, Without having to do a MAC and having 300 dongles just to use it easily and fully!
as odd as that keyboard tho but still cute

Dude, I need that shirt in my life.
I always wanted to get a chromebook
I use 2 Macbook Airs and 4 Chromebooks (one is a 2013 Google Pixel and another is a 2015 Dell Chromebook 13).
@@phillipjames453 no one asked...?
I’ve got a old Samsung 3 chrome book. It’s a bit slow on modern websites but the battery lasts ages.
Just bought my first Chromebook and I am very happy with it. I keep an elderly Windows Vista era machine around for file storage.
I really like that setup you have for it. I think Chromebooks make for a great addition to your everyday tasks. I have one and use it quite regularly. I can be sitting in the living room with it and do just about everything I need including casting on our big screen TV. Excellent video Isaac!
Thanks!!
@@canoopsy you suck
I think Chromebooks are amazing options for people who don't really need these high end Windows 10 laptops...plus the super wide variety of apps from the play store is a huge bonus it's honestly great for media consumption as well as working on word/slides and other office apps as well as some android gaming. I could definitely use one daily
I am using Chromebook and mine is really outdated but still it's good to use it's been 1 year and a half and this Chromebook is still in a good shape
I wouldn't replace a traditional pc os completely with Chrome OS. but i can see myself using it for most internet task on a laptop. I'm a Windows/Linux user, but i replaced Windows 10 with Chromium OS(Neverware Cloudready) on my wife's netbook, and I enjoy it. Fast, stable and simple. Beautiful setup for getting things done on the web.
I want old canoopsy back😥😥

Hello, can you show the same set up, but with a Google PixelBook? I am having hard time connecting my pixel book to a second monitor, also, if I close the pixelbook, the connection turns off, and the second screen goes black. is there a type of monitor that is more compatible with google pixelbook? - please help
Good humor. Not over done. Just right. Thumbs up.
Can you get an Android phone and Chrome OS to work like macOS and the iPhone? Can your sync with the Chrome OS when your phone and computer are close. Like iMessage can start on the iPhone and you can go to your Macbook and continue using iMessage for the same conversation or continue a phone call, etc.
Now that there are Chromecast-compatible TV receivers, HGoog;e hoHome and Chromecast Ultra, it's not necessary to have a dedictated monitor, and all it wold take to eleiminate a sepatate keyboard would be for Google to have an option to use a "flip" model in tablet mode as a keyboard while casting.
That surge protctor has a coomon problem: the 6 outlets are too close together. When a power adapter like the Mini's is connected, it blocks an outlet.
Will a set up like this work with a 32 Inch TV (not a PC monitor) over Screencast and Wifi? I'm thinking of trying this with the C302(that does not have an HDMI port) and a 3 TCL 32S327 32-Inch 1080p Roku Smart LED TV. Wondering about TV vs Monitor, but also how easy/automatic screen casting can be?
I find Windows desktops to be memory hogs and apps like Edge have to be closed down after a while - I feel like windows 10 need 32gb memory and a PCIE SSD HD to be worth it and that's expensive. Chromebook always seems cheap, light and fast, but are limited.
The biggest challenge in Chromebook for me today include: (1) that the video meeting options in Microsoft Teams do not work yet. (2) No easy option for developers using Eclipse or Visual Studio and I've been waiting for cloud options.
I use a Chromebook plus daily. It's easy to use as a tablet sort of machine but with a full blown web browser . If I need Photoshop or FL studio I crank out the rig, but for tweeting and RUclips I'm fine on my Plus
How did you use it on the monitor if the chrome was closed and if you want to use the alternate keyboard and mouse does the chrome book have to be in front of the monitor
How much did all the things you mentioned cost all together? (The Chromebook, Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard, Google Home, and the Surge Protector)
Android app support is what really makes me want to try this setup! I still haven't bought a Chromebook yet though the technology really fascinates me.
Get one. Make sure you get plenty of memory for those Android apps. You will not regret it.
i've never seen a video from you without an avocado in it
Transitioned away from Windows to Chromebook for my home. I use the pixelbook and it supports the Samsung curved (ultra wide) display (CF791). Gsuite is excellent but I did also get the Android apps for MS-office.
I use chrome remote desktop to connect to my office desktop if/when needed.
In conclusion, I remain highly productive with a much lighter and more secure solution for my home and work use.
I like my new chromebook. However, I can not get it to recognize my cd player. Any suggestions and recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
Would it be worth me picking up a couple cheap chromebooks for my 11 year old brother and sister they currently have a $70 tablet that runs android 4 they do light video editing (my sister anyway) and my brother plays games (what they both do is on the android store)
Is Super Mario Run only compatible with certain Chromebooks? Because I have a acer R11 and it is not on the store.
I own a Toshiba chrome book from 2016 model. However there isn't android play store support on it. I still chrome book as my daily driver and it gets most of my work done.
Without a touch screen it is not great for Android apps...do you recommend 12.2 inch ASUS C302CA.. about 650$ CDN ? Its is steep!
Oh and i love the keyboard
i love my Chromebook , i have an old Samsung one though. it has an ARM type CPU so it is really slow but i still really like it. I use a mac on a day-to-day basis but Chromebooks are really good for just trailing around the house
Wait, can't multiple monitors be set up (via Chromebook Settings) such that Desktop is expanded across both (rather than one simply mirroring the other, as shown)?
Is the apple magic keyboard compatible with all pc's/laptops with bluetooth?
Andorit combuter i don lock good the apliceson for mobile i made for tach screen haw to traslate all the apliceson for mouse and keybort ?
Can you use the Chromebook on the monitor with it closed? So it's more like a desktop?
Can you please recommend a 1080p external monitor to pair with an Acer R11? Thank you for sharing!
As updated Chromebook has support for Android Apps so can a Chromebook have the app version of Microsoft Office
Just wanna ask that if chromebook can play a game such like Mobille Legends or other huge multiple games? Could a chromebook replace an Android tablet?
What are the specs of your chromebook please, if you share a link to it as well
Are the Office apps good? Don't Google have their own apps?
still got a ways to go, such as more perfomance related stuff etc for now is basically a tablet esc thing
i've got the exact same set up but with a Chromebook stuck at the back of the HP monitor
Thank for the review. Dont you experience audio latency when you watch youtube over bluetooth audio connection.? I do on all Win, MacOS and ChromeOS.
You covering the various Android apps that can run on Chromebooks definitely make them look alot more promising nowadays.
I always wondered what it was with hipsters and minimalism...
Children of the recession....
The lesser the better
The worst part is that it still cost a considerable amount. 😂
actually i think it's kinda part of the leftist ideology. y'know functionalism and such
Less stuff to get caught in your beard, plus makes your undeveloped boy body appear larger/muscled.
How does the Magic Keyboard handle Chrome OS keyboard shortcuts?
I just got the Acer Chromebook 315 I love it!
ahh thx guys ur the best and Canoopsy you to i had struggled a lot with my chromebook ten when i saw ur vid im like oh there pretty chill and cool.Thank You All.Hope You Guys Get A lot Of Tech Luck
Hi, thanks for this review! I am interested in a certain Chromebook with a micro SD slot. Do you know if Chromebooks with micro SD slots can access and open regular files on the card (such as mp3, pdf, Word docs opened via Google Docs or MS Office Android app) while offline? Also, can I play mp3 songs from the card using Google Play Music without being online? Thanks!
How do you connect internet to the monitor, and how do you get chrome OS on the monitor as well?
My asus c201pa still doesn't have google play store.
Now sold on a Chromebook. Just don't know which one atm.
I'm a light user, media consumption, few games, word processing and spreadsheets are about it.
I generally like my chromebox setup (dual screen).
But, why he uses small keyboard and mouse ?
hello Canoopsy, i was wondering, how do i get that sleek transparent "dock", i have looked everywhere, but without success, hope you can help! thanks in advance
FWIW, my chomebook works great with the LG and BenQ ultrawide screens I have.
Edit: Having said that I might feel a little dumb considering the time since the publication of this video. Thanks for putting together this video even for us late watchers!
HOLY MOLY! THAT KEYBOARD LOOKS SICK!
Good to see someone giving a Chromebook some love.
We're really moving toward virtual desktops at my day job and the Chromebooks work great for that as well.. once the VDI is loaded up you pretty much have a full windows desktop.
Just received my Chrome Book yesterday. Final step crossing over from Apple so I dont regret anything. How did you pair the apple magic keyboard I have tried no luck.
got myself the acer cb 14. only 299 euros...the design is insanely goodlooking and it does exactly what i want it to do. browse the web, videos, music. nothing more.
I love my Chromebook. Most of what I do is on the web. However, there are some apps for amateur radio that require windows and will not work on Chromebook. So I also have a cheap HP Windows 10 laptop as a backup for Windows only apps. I like the speed of the Chromebook no antivirus issues. Very good presentation of the Chromebook in your video.
Is it possible to get full desktop websites on chromeOS or are you just stuck with mobile versions?
2 questions. can you use all chrome extensions and can you import raw photos to lightroom on from the sd card
What wireless keyboard are you using?
How do you make the taskbar transparent on a chromebook 15? Thx
Can you connect an additional monitor?
Well i love my chrome book the only is that its hard to download apps from the web
Canoopsy here, when you know a video is gonna be amazing. Glad I found your channel.
My set up uses a USB hub and I plug my wired keyboard and mouse to the device so it is cleaner and my extended screen is an older Insignia TV
Instead of pluging in a laptop to the monitor you could lf gotten a chromebook stuck not the chrome cast but a chrome book stick its the size lf a flash drive and you just plug it into a monitor and connect a keyboard and nmouse
Basically just a stick woth chrome os on it
But have you added unity yet? It makes your Chromebook way nicer, and are able to run Linux programs
What people don't realize is if they want the Google assistant on unsupported chromebooks they can just download the app from play store
What is the keyboard and mouse brand name? I'm looking to actually get one of those.
Try using DeX - works like a dream from a S8 S8plus or Note 8. I love chrome books and have the Google Pixel Chroomebook (2013) which I use everyday.
How well does the Apple Magic Keyboard work with a chromebook?
I bought a used Macbook Pro (13", late 2013) instead.
Good battery life, build quality and a full computer OS. All for 750 usd.
ii-ViCioUs-uK__ That's my computer :)
MacBooks are great. And if you want to save money you can get older models. But I'd miss a lot of features that the new MacBooks have.
Apple Apple Well, I'm not so sure I like the new features - the Touchbar? is meh.
And remember, the old models have cool features too - for example the glowing Apple logo and MagSafe =)
Less features from previous years but new current features for more money.
What specs it has?
Personally wouldn't go with a ChromeBook because I do a lot of gaming and video editing, but you made a nice video on how it could be done GREATLY! :)
Would anyone recommend using the Samsung Chromebook plus for animation and drawing
How were you able to create this video? From the Chromebook?
I'm really a fan of a 3 to $500 range of Chromebooks, and I'm very excited for 2019 and 2020, imagine a low-power generation 9 core I3 quad core or 6 core. Generation 8 i3s are capable of 3 DS emulation, and it's possible they could be doing PS3 emulation. Then once you add 5G data imagine gaming on the go with a full power of your GTX 2080.
Until it really needs better APU's especially in laptops, then Intel integrated Graphics could be marketed as Esports gaming machines.
Chrome OS phones anyone, if they could just copy razor did for their Razer phone laptop I would buy one 6 months later so I can get in-depth reviews
that keyboard looks like the surface color
This video is just an advertisement in disguise. Absolutely thing useful.
I love my Chromebook and what a great video. I want to hook up a bigger monitor and this really helps, thank you.
YES! New video TODAY! 😂
YES
Canoopsy , how do you still mirror the Chromebook screen to the monitor when the Chromebook is closed? Great vid BTW, I've been thinking of creating a Chromebook setup
It just automatically keeps displaying. :)

do you get 4k on the monitor? 30 or 60Hz?
How do you use 2 monitors with a Chrome book?
Why not use a chromebase?
Can someone please help me, can you use minecraft and discord on a chromebook with the google play store being on some chromebooks?
Yes. If you want the mobile/console version of minecraft, it is available on the Play Store. But if you actually want to use the computer version, you need to go on steam and check if it supports Chrome OS
How many monitors can your use
Hey 1987 called... They want their shirt back 😂

You did an excellent job of explaining this Chromebook and all its benefits keep up the good work
