I've had a lot of comments correcting me on Manayunk being a Philly city neighborhood, and thank you for doing it! I apologize for that misstep/mischaracterization. I know for next time I visit this rockin' city! Can I get a #ilovephilly ? Go 76ers! 😃
Growing up in Roxborough, Manayunk and Roxborough felt outside of the city, never a part of it. I was born in 1962, growing up in the area, there were still farms and wonderful old properties. It definitely felt more rural in some small pockets.
Nice video, I use to hang out in manayunk back in the 70' at a place called "sip n steaks" ran by rocky barba, back in the 60' and 70' manayunk was mafia infested. I use to play craps and poker with rocky and other shady characters.
I used to work at Sip and steak and new Rocky and Vi very well in the 70s I used to live on Saint David Street right off of Green Lane I now live in Florida I've been here for about 45 years and love it
@@Lillandonget_bandz rocky was a good person, the last time I talked to him was 1977 I said goodbye and moved to Arizona and never went back to manayunk. Don't know what manayunk is like today?
She could be right about it being a suburb. You can have a suburban neighborhood within a city. Lots of cities consider neighborhoods within city limits as suburbs. It's on the edge of the city almost. And Manayunk is the only post office acceptable neighborhood in Philly where you can write it as Manayunk, PA because the entire neighborhood is 19127 and is the only neighborhood in Philly that exclusively occupies a single zip code.
What areas consist of the Philly suburbs? I've been looking for videos highlighting the suburbs but can't find too many. Where should I look if I were to move there??
Hi Justin! That is a great question because Philadelphia is very expansive. I'm not a native, but I've been to 3-4 areas over the past year. I would probably center the search based on where you have a job because Philly rush hour traffic can be ridiculous. After that, it really depends on what you value because Philly has so much to offer. Run some online searches, and I'm sure you'll find some potential options. I do hope my video helped on Manayunk; feel free to go to my article on Manayunk on my website as well for additional info on this area. Best of luck in your move!
Americanya Mel Definitely. Since my post I've been able to get a better picture of Philly. I'm from Pittsburgh and have been to Philly on work assignments for my previous job. I'm probably going to see about moving to Philadelphia in the next 3-5 years, hopefully!? Your vlog is awesome, please keep posting content on Philly because there's not a lot out there. Take care, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
I will see about moving up one of my planned Philly videos sooner. Had to take a pause due to some things going on in my personal life. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you, and best of luck on your real estate test!.
If you want to be in the burbs, Montgomery County has reasonably priced homes within a 45 minute commute by train to Center City. If you want something more luxurious and beautiful, then you have to move further out. Delaware county has many beautiful areas by far the most wooded and aesthetically beautiful in many parts. Chester and Bucks counties are the furthest from Downtown Philly, but many pockets throughout these counties are extremely beautiful but also extremely expensive! Good luck or your move and on your test! Took it 30 years ago, and it was a beast then. I heard it's much more difficult now!

Some people will never be happy. You’ll get pushback from people calling Mannyunk “the city”

Manayunk is in the city
Manyunk is part of the city. It is not a suburb. It's the beginning of the area known as NW Philly
I grew up there!! I went to school at St Mary's. Roxborough Manayunk rules

Sip and Steaks! Wow. What a unique place in such a high end neighborhood. (I know it wasn’t before Main st revitalization, but it didn’t change.)
Manayunk is not a suburb, it’s inside the northwest section of the city
Manayunk is a cool spot, lot of great bars nearby and you're only a short uber ride to Center City.

How excited are you for a day in Manayunk?
Great video!

Oh, I'm taking my real estate license test soon so I'd prefer somewhere close to town. A 30 minute commute is not to bad.

This is NW Philadelphia. I don’t know who said it wasn’t.
Great hood.the polish poconos..
It is NOT outside of Philadelphia! It is a neighborhood within the city of Philadelphia.
The music and audio makes this nearly unwatchable
Manayunk is northwest Philadelphia lol. It’s not outside Philadelphia
