Elvis Ammo - did a video on adding a 2nd coil to the lee 4-20. That should heat it up. I run my Saeco pot with a pid and it is set to 880 degrees to get great perfect pours. I am using lyman 2 cavity steel molds. With the heat that high after a few pours the sprew plate opens easy and I get nice shinny bullets. Did you get my email requsting the zinc load date sheet? Make sure I get on the list to get one of those steel incerts for the 4-20. I will be happy to buy it when it is finished.
@@livincincy4498 It is suposed to be good to go with Zinc. I have been casting Zinc now for about 3 years. I have sent many Zinc bullets to others. I use the Saeco pot with totally no issues. The replacement pot insert is made out of heavey steel. Should work great. I am sure I will be testing one.
Speaking of Elvis, whatever happened to him? Retire from RUclips? Would much appreciate hearing if you know he's doing his stuff on a new site. He, FLT, and FC45LC are my favorite informative guys on casting (not ranked, all are great first rate guys!)
It looks good, I think I saw that in the shop over the summer - when will it be available? Did you PID the zinc alloy? I think the zinc WWs have aluminum in it which would make the melt point alot higher. If you have pure zinc I would think adding in some copper to it might improve a zinc bullet alloy to make it less brittle....maybe throw in about 50 cents worth in zinc pennies??? Too much copper in the zinc would go brass - (66% copper and 34% zinc) - but I think 3-10% copper in the zinc would be worth at least trying
Great idea! I have yet to experiment with zinc at all, but it's good to know there will be options. Hope you feel better soon. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hope you're feeling better, Taco! Been waiting for news on this one. Being able to drop one of these into a 4-20 for zinc would be a huge improvement over the current propane-fueled cast iron setup. Even sticking with a dipper, which I have to admit, I enjoy for some reason.
Too bad I’m getting out of everything 2A, with my upcoming marriage and move overseas. 😢 But I’m happy to see Al looking out for his customers! Thanks for the update, buddy!
AWESOME! Just came from your Rumble channel. I try not to use RUclips much anymore. I’m excited for this product! Finally able to test zinc
🤔🤔👍👍

Nice. Thanks!

Elvis discovered that Zinc ate his pot when he contacted Lee. Metals reacted. So this pot is hopefully metallurgically compatible with Zinc.

Good idea. I’d be on board for one for my 4-20 ! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Andy has been asking in the live chats when this would get done, I’m wondering about drip freeze . 🤷♀️
Great idea .
Thanks for the testing. No more scrounging for saco pots. get well.

Taco hope you are feeling better. Have a Blessed 2024!
Thanks! And happy New Year to you!
I keep looking at NOEs website and haven't found a Lee Upgrade kit yet.
Have you heard anything else from them over the last few months?
I talked with Al earlier this week and he is still working on it--had a machine go down and got behind in some of their work. Now he is catching up.
This is a great idea. Is this going to be something that’s compatible with the bottom pour mechanism? Good stuff, Taco 👍🏻🌮
Yeah, he hopes to have the holes drilled so you can use the bottom pour feature
