Robbie there's no failure in the garden, it's a lesson learned. Your plants are looking great.
I know you leave the cilantro flowers for the birds and the bees but the flowers are edible too just a little more lemony flavored than the leaves 😋
I learned last week that purslane is full of omega 3 and very good for your heart. Finally saw another hummingbird. Didn't see any for a while after we had several nights in the low 30s. Also saw my new neighbor put out 2 hummer feeders - YEA! Our nights are still in the 40s and, as normal, lots of rain and humidity. Everyone's weather is crazy this year! We can only do the best that we can and learn from it.
You are one busy woman. I love that your fortune in your own yard. Beautiful beautiful beautiful
Thank you So Much
Thanks Robbie. I always love your tours. I live in Australia and after a very cool summer we are now going into a very cold winter. Look up Adapt 2030 channel David Dubyne explains why you are going to have a cool wet summer due to the volcanos he does a lot of research. I love that you feed the hummingbirds they look so cute. We are wildlife carers and when the weather is bad I think you need to support the wildlife We have destroyed so much of their habitats We have a noisy miner bird and a blue faced honeyeater that we raised and released last summer that come to our door every morning for a feed of honeyeater mix. They also come inside the house and fly around eating the spiders then leave.
The way Kitty ran over to get back in the video when you showed the cabbage had me giggling 😂 Nice garden update!
Deck garden is beautiful Robbie 🥰🥰
Thank you 😊 ❤️
Its been raining for days here in Harrisburg PA. I have a lovely front porch where im growing oregano, parsley, chives, sage, basil and 2 tomato plants. Its a small and mighty container garden. Thanks for teaching me how to have a successful working garden.
I make all my own dirt from food scraps and branches!🎉
How Wonderful ❤😊🎉 Thank you
My tomatoes are getting flowers. Yay!
I was just outside in the hot Utah sun getting one of my containers ( like the ones you guys use )
ready for planting in.
Wow it’s a lot of work but praying it will be all worth it when I harvest several veggies later in the year.
I am relaxing watching your garden from zone 5 cold and rain.
💪💪 Have a great day Robbie!!
Thank you and You Too 😊
Hi Robbie you have al8t if lettuce! Everything looks wonderful. Maybe take the big tomato out and plant it and let the little guys grow. Just a suggestion. Thanks for your tour. Looks great
I would re~ pot that bigger tomato plant and let the new ones grow in there by themselves so they can grow big and strong
Thank you for your garden inspiration!!!!
Anytime 😊 Thank You ❤️
I went to a yard sale and found some old spoons and forks to garden with. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.
You’re so welcome 😊 great find!
Rainy, gloomy and still cold here in Michigan. No sun for days. Going down to 34° in the night, ugh! Suppose to snow Wednesday or Thursday. I'm behind in all my outside chores that I need to get done besides planting my deck garden. I have never been able to grow lettuce, lol.
Not much different in PA, just as cold. They need to cut way back on the spraying! No more sun covering!!!!
Howdy, Robbie and cute cold Kitty!👋 Robbie, you probably couldn't pry her off her heating pad once she got back inside. 😄
I love how you always keep it real...you show us the good, bad and oh no!💕
I've planted ten tomato plants ( big and cherry) and I have ready pepper plants in my mini greenhouse waiting for the weather to really warm up to get them out. I see that the zucchini that you've planted in the small container seems happy 😊 this is very good cause I will be able to grow my zucchinis in small containers and save some space!
Your deck has everything you need to be able and go and pick and cook something!!! It's awesome ❣️ 🌟 Thank you Robbie for the great deck garden tour 🌻 you are doing a great job 👏❣️
Keep the tomato plant it survived the winter ❤ save the seeds and keep growing it, you wull have abundance of them and a cold hardy breed. I say keep the strong ones and find another place for the other new plants to test them and see how they do.
I always keep and love the things that survive me 😂 considering there are few and far between, reward them for their success and endurance ❤
But it is your garden
Let the cherry tomatoes grow. My favs.
What kind of lettuce should I plant now? And how to prevent it from being bitter? How do you take care of your lettuce? Your garden is amazing!

You will need to try different types to see what grows best in your garden/ area, and never allow lettuce to dry out, otherwise, it will bolt or go bitter
Youve given me such great ideas. Thank you
Thank you for the great tour Robbie ❣️🌟
Oh Maria, thank you so much for the Super Thanks 😊 It is my pleasure always to do the Garden Tour, so happy you enjoy it. Again thank You❤️💕❤️💕
You must like lettuce . . . A lot!
Thanks great video ❤
Hi Robbie 👋
I do love your videos. They give me so much hope. Thank you.
Great garden! Love all your lettuce!
Once you find what lettuce grows good, you can grow tons. Thank you so much.
Yes its cold here in the northeast too. I started peppers and tomatoes seeds in red cups and they are ready to be transplanted but cannot because of cold night temps. It's easy to bring inside because they're not in pots.
The weather should be ready for them soon...
I was just wondering if the earthworms would find their way in my pots or should I buy some. Thanks for saving me more money!
You have more room than I do.
Maybe, but too many seedlings started 😮
I am blessed to be able to get a greenstalk. 30 full plants in a tiny space. They take a lot to fill, but I am still doing her style of greens and browns then soil. They take more water, but there is a Dollar tree version.
The one thing that really gets rid of your black fly otherwise known as aphids it's just put banana peelings around it seems to kill them and then they fall off within a couple days
I will try that, thanks 😊
EXCUSE ME there is such a thing a second breakfast. She could be part Hobbit. LOL
Robbie, i was able to root mushroom herb in water. Took a few weeks but finally got roots
I finally found the dish pans at Walmart! I’m excited to add them to my collection of totes 🦋
Hi. Could you tell me what brand you bought?
@@PlantNative I believe they are Steralite. They are 18 QT. I bought black because it is cheaper. Found in the kitchen isle by the dish draining racks.
19:55 There's more than 50 hummers in that single frame!
Tell the hummingbirds Indiana is still cold and rainy!!
Will do 😊❤
Thanks for the info on lettuce
I have alot of seeds started in a lettuce bowl, like they do in nurseries.. not sure if there are too many, but will thin. Thanks!
I am in Southern Utah in the high desert. It's about 5500 feet in altitude and we had a cold and wet winter, which we really needed. I can't count on no more frosts until early June. I usually get male hummingbirds about May 1, but this year I got some in the middle of April. I don't know why I got them so early this year, but maybe they know something I don't about what the weather is going to be like.
I'm getting hummingburds again. I think they found them again.
I did a two bucket system with straight yellow squash and it’s still small after 2’months the rest are already giving me squash 😬🤦🏻♀️👩🌾 something is wrong with the two buckets I have 😬😔 thanks Robbie have a great day! 😊🙏🏻♥️
Hey Robbie, what is the type of lettuce that you grow everywhere? It's so luscious and green I'd love to get my hands on some.
Gonna have to plant romaine lettuce. You’re lettuce looks delicious and beautiful! My regular lettuce are not even growing much.😢
Regular iceberg lettuce or even some of the butter lettuce don’t grow good for me. You need to find out what will grow good in your climate and area and situation
I always have a good harvest of Bibb lettuce. Looks the same as Robbie's.
That netting is a good idea. Where did you get it?
Robbie what type is your beautiful lettuce 🥬?
I have 2 kjahri melon seedlings (one on each end) planted directly in an 18 gallon tote with a pitcher in the center. Do you think with the pitcher system in there the tote can support both plants, or do I need to dig one up and layer it in a pot instead?
Where did you get the square containers up against your house ? The double decker ones ( black)
? Question 🙋♀️ How many inches of soil do you put on the top for planting things in your containers?
Robbie I need help! I have walking onions in a pot but Bermuda grass is taking over the pot ,can I dump them out now and replant or should I wait to save them. They are starting to walk.
Hi Robbie, Will you keep growing your zucchini in the Walmart washing tub from Walmart? Is it sterilite, Rubbermaid or mainstays? Maybe I’ll try that. I just looked and the Rubbermaid is quite pricey.
Just how cold is it there in Southern California? Here in Central Ohio it’s 41-degrees, what I call jacket weather.
I need Sungold seeds. I can't find those anywhere.
What types of lettuce do you have ?
Is it safe to use plastic containers?
What is your watering system? Do you hand water, or do you have irrigation systems?
My dogs love broccoli too, and most veggies.
What breed of chickens do you have?
I have volunteer tomatoes in the house, they desperately need to go out, but it is way too cold!!!!!
Same issue here on some of the tomato plants. The plants that are coming up naturally from fallen seeds are doing fine. The ones that I’m growing in the house are not used to our weather and those are growing slow right now.
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy I get the best tomatoes from volunteers out in the garden. These were in my potting soil in the house, they came months ago! And they grow and grow😁
What kind of lettuce do you grow?
I’d like to know too.
Romain lettuce

Bibb lettuce looks just like that.
Have you ever had a squash have flowers but no fruit?
My husband takes his finger and pollinate them himself bc we have no bees. We already have fruit growing on them. The only one he doesn't pollinate himself is tomato plants bc you just barely shake those to pollinate. He takes 2 or 3 fingers and vibrates the stem and it will fall into the female and fruit. Hope that helps. FATHER GOD BLESS YOU in JESUS NAME 🙏 🙌 ❤
I try every year, but I can never get greens to grow! Even when they start looking like they will make it - either I get these little white bugs flying around or they just shrivel up.
Spray with a little dish soap in water.
Robi GM ??? My lettuce is In ground, can I transplant to a pot? Had to spray neem oil treatment yesterday covered with afids and I don't want them with my tomatoes babies and collars. From San Bernardino foothills.....
I have moved many off the ground ( young plants) always worth a try 😊
I have a question. Can a male flower be saved and dried to fertilize when only females are available? You just need the flower pollen.
The pollen will start to degrade after a few days, but you may be able to keep it in the fridge for about a week.
Bobbie what area are you in? I’m in Temecula CA. Zone 10?
I believe she said 9 b.
What type of lettuce is that you are growing? (At the beginning of the video.)
Looks like Bibb lettuce.
Robbie, what kind of romaine do you grow??
Years ago all they called it was romaine on eBay and I bought it once and it continues to seed from those plants I grew 😊
I bought Parris Island Cos Romaine…I hope it will work well in my containers…I started with your container type gardening and this year it has double my success. At first my husband thought I was crazy because he does traditional gardening. He has been very supportive this year and is now even starting on his own watering my garden. 🪴Thank you🪴💚
Hi dear. 😢 not 1 of my tumeric, ginger, took. I paid good money for them. Also my purple kale hasn't done anything either. Not happy. Help...??❤
I am in Australia so might be different I had the same problem but last summer, we are going into winter now, I put the ginger and turmeric into their own individual pots and placed the pots on a table under our big mulberry tree. And they have grown really well I am not an expert but I don’t think they like direct sun plus the pits were watered everyday but had lots of holes in the bottom. Hope that helps
What? What was the failure?
My onions
Make sure you don’t have to much weight on your balcony.
We do, thanks 😊
I thought your dog died. Is this a old video?
