Thank you so much! Yes it was so tragic and her loss was not expected until the very end. She always had the sweetest kids and just the sweetest disposition ❤️ she will be greatly missed.

Did u save the kids?? U can do an emergency crash csection. I have a feeling u didn't. Sorry for your loss
One thing to help is u think they have this or are off u can always take their breeding with one of throes pin prick diabetes home kit. And treat accordingly 1 .2.3. Nope use the sheep information for the goat

No we did not because her kids were not viable (also the necropsy team verified this) and that would have been unethical given the state she was in and it not save her kids anyway. We learned through our friend who is a lamancha breeder that there is a BHB monitor kit we can get that shows the BG and keytones all in one. They sell it at PBS animal website therefore we are getting that for the future. This was actually not that simple, as stated in the video due to the condition of her teeth which was secondary to something else and it just created a cycle. A cycle that just couldn't be broken no matter what we did, which was also in the preliminary report we got from the necropsy team.

@@hillvalleyfarm her kids would have been viable. We do this in lambs and goats with the moms all the time and successfully deliver them said them with no issues. That's why I said that
And ethical really?? Mom gave all she had to bring the babys as far as she could. Animals get put down all the time.
C sections are preformed all the time. Baby's survive.
So what's not ethnical about combining the 2 and having something to be proud of afterwards?? I don't see it please exsplain

@@devenlamar3900 No, they wouldn't. Not in Nigerian Dwarf goats. I specifically asked and made sure and necropsy lab verified. Lungs are the last thing to develop and they said even with Dex it would not have been possible. I don't personally know anyone who has ever had kids viable that far away from due date. I am saying it would not have been ethical because I didn't feel like putting her thru that before putting her down. This was my son's goat. This was a horrific experience so I appreciate no further comments as we did what we did and felt it was all we could do. We learned and in livestock if there is tragedy (such as this) at least we learn and can help the next one. She died a peaceful death and was loved. That is all anyone needs to know.
