Part 7 of a Series on the inner workings of CATIA V5 - from the very basics to complex part modelling. The series focuses on the actual way CATIA functions and is designed to give you the knowledge to produce your own parts, not specific ones.
The Motto in this Series is "Go away and Have a play" as it is the best way to learn CATIA, with this series, you will be armed with the know-how to develop your own experience with the program.

Awesome Tutorial. I do have a problem with the stringer though.
The distance between the stringer and front spar at the root section and tip section are equal.
the distance at the tip should be lesser i.e. If I am to use a number of stringers, they should all contain at both ends.

Hi there, thanks a lot your video helped me with some questions I had about wingtips and even a problem I've been having about linked parts that you so kindly explained in the video (using the replace option).
I was wondering, in the very tip of the wing, you put a very tiny aerofoil, but did it finished flat? could a dome be created? I haven't quite get around this...

Hi, thanks for great videos. Can you upload a video of how to do fairings? For instance with wing against main body. I have had a hard time creating it and I haven't found so much instructions about it.
Hi there. Yes I'm trying to get to my next series (lots going on at the moment so I haven't found time.
Fairings are particularly difficult so ill see if I can put on up in the near future. I've recently done a full model of an aircraft so maybe I will put a mini series on how to do this!

i have 1 newbie question, there is a hole (airfoil shape hole) on the tip of the winglet, how to make it as a solid?

Hi there.
two ways you can do it:
1. use the fill option in the solid workbench - this will produce a completely solid part which might not be ideal but it should close off planar(flat) open edges.
2. use the fill in the 2D surfacing using a passing point. This might be tricky getting right profile but then you can join everything up and use the thickness operation in the solid workbench. watch this space more coming soon!
how to add some airfoil in the propeller??
is that just flat plat prop??

This is just a flat prop yes, to add an aerofoil, You should be able to use this surface as a reference for making it into an aerofoil but if i'm honest i haven't had to do that before so i am unfamiliar with the exact technique.
When I try to import an aerofoil into CATIA from Excel, it shows an error stating that "object does not support this property or method". Is there any solution to it?
It happens if you have catia product desing window opened. You need to have a part design window.

where is the wing tip tutorial, i need it. i just want the normal one without winglet
like the ones in p47 thunderbolt
