Hickok45 videos are filmed on my own private shooting range and property by trained professionals for educational and entertainment purposes only, with emphasis on firearms safety and responsible gun ownership. We are NOT in the business of selling firearms or performing modifications on them. Do not attempt to copy at home anything you see in our videos. Firearms can be extremely dangerous if not used safely.
I picked up my 41 over the summer after watching your videos with it 7 inch barrel and I’ve already won 3 matches with it. Easily my favorite 22lr
This is a great channel hands down.
Honesty, and Integrity are what I look for..
showing the malfunction of one of your favored firearms, without editing it out, is a testament to your honesty and integrity.
Thank you for that.
Thanks. We never edit ANYTHING out unless it's John having a coughing fit or something that just requires us to stop for a minute. Happens very rarely and we make sure it's clear why we had to stop. It would never be due to a gun problem; that's just part of the review that we want people to see.
Cant believe it's been 5 years since Hickock gave me firearm Fever.. thenmost wholesome firearm channel there is. No gimmicks just a man, his son, and some weaponry.
Thanks. I have a natural aversion to "gimmicks" and such. Nothing is real anymore in this crazy new world of clickbait, envy-filled haters, trolls, freedom haters, etc. :-)
Wow I’m so glad that you came back on this beautiful, classic pistol... New and classic, the gun still shines
Inherited mine from beloved cousin amongst 300 other guns. Love the way it handles and shoots. He also had a High Standard Victor. Both are incredibly accurate. I'll never sell it.
I got an early 70’s model 41 off of a friend a few years ago. It has the 5” barrel and a scoped long barrel. Original box and mint condition. It’s one of my favorites.
I've had my model 41 since 1965 or '66. Awesome pistol.
Me too!
The finest .22 handgun ever built. ❤️
model 41 is very particular about the cartridge you put in. that's why i only use cci ammo for this gun
A glock sleeps at night with a Hickok under its pillow.
Beautiful gun, thanks for sharing Mr hickok!
Hope you have a great day, keep being awesome!
Love the Model 41! Your opening statement is on par with my own situation with my 41. I also purchased mine around 1989 and haven't shot it near enough. I immediately plan to remedy that. Thanks for another great video.
Damn, that thing is in beautiful shape!
"Shooting a handgun is hard". Appears to me Sir, you are a natural born handgun shooter. I enjoy shooting my 1970 vintage model 41.
I just rewatched some of your videos a week ago and after that I bought a brand new Glock 17
Your Videos are so helpful
One of the best Channels on RUclips 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Same for me, exept I bought a Glock 19 gen3. I have others but never had a Glock. I haven't shot it yet but by just the feel I think I'm going to be a Glock fanboy. Seasons Greetings, 2A!
If you get a chance to hold one of the newer walthers, I held a CCP, and it felt incredible. But a Glock 22 was my first handgun, a police trade-in from a college officer a few towns away. No regrets at all.
@@notsure1686 +1. My PPQ M1 is absolutely form fitting to my hand. Also has the controls I want as a lefty. My CZ PCR is hands down, no pun, most ergonomic to me.
@@77Infidel Thanks, CZ's are supposed to be top notch, but my brother swears by his walthers, he's got a ppq and i think the pps; M2 on both I'm sure... I'll try and find a CZ and hold it to see how it feels too. What sucks is the only ranges that rent to test out pistols is like 2 or 3 hours away from me. If I ever manage to go to one, I'll be sure to try out a CZ for you. No promises on remembering to try the PCR, but still.
Thank you Hickok with the Virginia shoutout as a residence. I became a gun owner thanks to you, making me feel comfortable with guns. Now I have the bug.
I had a model 41 for a while, the sights were as good as anyone could possibly ask for, you couldn't make a bad shot with it even if you tried. The negative with that particular pistol was that it was picky about ammunition, no bulk pack ammo with it for sure. It would malfunction. I love the older S&W revolvers and traded for a stunning model 17. The only automatic 22 cal I have now is a Ruger Mark 2 Government Target model, very nice sights and trigger. Best of all it's not finicky about ammo.
We were given one of these a year ago, and I had no idea what to expect. I couldn’t believe how smooth and accurate it is.
I shoot a S&W 41 with 5 inch barrel in 25m bullseye at the local range. I’ve found that if you oil the cartridges, put some oil on a rag and add a handful of .22 cartridges, then rub them all around, you rarely get a failure to extract. Without oil mine has way too many failure to extracts or alibi shots. The pistol is a great once I learned this trick from the range master. I purchased mine used, mid 80s production, but looks like new.
I love the old Model 41. I had one many years ago. Wish I'd kept it. Good to see it here. Thanks Hickok 45 for featuring it. I had the one with the 12 round magazine.
This channel is very epic.. a lot of people just click off the video but I don’t, when you talk in videos it’s just so addicting to listen!
Another great video, although one is never enough, I end up binge watching many more and continually find ones I haven’t seen. Keep up the great work Hickok45 👍🏼😉
I have a model 41 with the 7” barrel. My favorite .22 pistol of all time. Thanks for the video.
I love the looks of the Model 41. When I was in the market for a .22 pistol I just felt the price was out of my sight. I just checked and $1100 is the current price. I wish I’d found one like Hickok45 back in the 80s. I love shooting .22 in my way cheaper Beretta Neos. Then my friend introduced me to the Marlin Model 60 and I loved .22 even more, if possible.
I love watching Hickok45 make the gun sing. Beautiful gun and beautiful shooter.
Appreciate y’all from Texas
Now is winter , so in Texas it must be 150 degrees

I have one of these tack drivers I bought 20 years ago for $700, one of my favorite, low cost ammo, incredibly accurate and last of the hand made guns from S&W
hickok45 put them all in the red! I am happy just hitting the target, need to get to the range more.
hickok45, hope you and family had a wonderful Christmas. Moving into a new decade. Keep on keeping on! Life is good...
I had several 22 pistols and revolvers in the past 8 years. Last year I got rid of all of them except my SW 617 10 shot revolver. And last year I got a new SW Mod 41 (long barrel). With these two 22 handguns, there really is nowhere else to go (unless you want olympic style pistols). Enjoy these 2 22 handguns immensely. No point in fooling around with lesser models. However, I had a Ruger mark III which I sold because of the disassembly hassel. The Mark IV hunter or target or competition models would likely be really good too.
I have a 1972 model w/ 2 /5” spare barrels and a 71/2” barrel with compensator and shell indercator.
I can’t ever shoot up to it’s potential. I LOVE IT.
Hickok45, you are the man! Great video!
That's a chill ass bee, he didnt even flinch when you drew down on him. He knew you were bluffing.
Back in the 1980s, the Model 41 and various High Standard variations ruled the local target pistol clubs in the rimfire category. Still love the Model 41.
Hickok45 looking sharp!! Thanks for another great video!!!
The bee was probably a Remington Yellow Jacket that was expressing his dislike of your Federal ammo. 8>p
Good one.
dvs1145 😆
dvs1145 might have been a cci stinger
Picked up one in Lavergne TN just the other day. A beautiful shooting work of art.
Great stuff 45, looking forward to 2020, Happy New Year !
Merry Christmas, Hickock.
Great 👍 blueing and grips absolutely classic, keep up the great work🇺🇸
That's a sweet pistol. Always wanted one. And good camera work from Jon - I saw the BYOB on the bucket and thought, that's just wrong on a bucket of cartridges - 'Til he zoomed in and I could read the small print. Lol
Beautiful gun and Virginia all us America loving gun loving folks stand with y’all I hope there not dumb enough realize we have had wars over Tyranny thanks for the video hickok45
22Plinkster step aside! The Ole HickOk45 Train is coming through!!
Yeah mister Hickok45, I seen you hit them cans but they didn't move. It makes me think back about 40 years ago I took my son who was a little Feller about 5 years old and we went duck hunting. Well we've been out there a couple hours and here come a duck in and I throwed the old shotgun up boom boom boom! I looked over at my little boy and told him son it's amazing! Some people live all their life may be a hundred years old and never see a miracle. And I just can't believe it you're seeing a miracle and you ain't but 5. And he said Daddy, what was the miracle? I laughed and I said well son did you not see that dead duck fly off?
I couldn't resist that mr. Hickok, it's an old joke but they may be a lot of young folks out there that never heard it. Happy shooting I love that Model 41 you got. Kind of buddy of mine bought 1 and I throwed a fit for it and he says well I can get you one that is almost just like it And that son of a gun about it and brought it down here and showed it to me and then wouldn't let me have it. said he decided he was going to keep both of them! I wouldn't even speak to him for over 15 years well at least five days maybe. Haha happy shooting sir!
And I guess my last paragraph would be that I'm exactly like you are on the 22. The 1911 Style 22 or maybe not 1911 but similar what I call box pistols is not for me anyhow. I like the Ruger Mark series and the 41, and also the victory or buckmark Maybe. But a friend of mine brought one and I shot it and I could hit with it a little and he could hit with it a little but when I let him have my little K22 masterpiece you could roll the Rocks right on down the road.
Great video . All of the guns Hickok has are in super great condition !
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both. Be well, and God bless.
Bee well to you too 🐝
Bought my first one in 1984, like an idiot I sold it. So I had to get another one, best target.22 pistol I’ve ever had including a Woodsman Match Target!
I use to work for that shop but now it’s called specialty arms 2 the owner and staff are amazing people and I wish I’d never left y’all should check the place out if your ever in Lavernge tn
@travis collins .... I live in M’boro and have been there (bought there) many times. Not lately though. Will go back by soon and check them out again. Thanks.
Back in the '70's and '80's, it was about the only good gun shop around with that kind of inventory. The market has changed a great deal, and now the Nashville area is lucky to have so many large gun shops. I still get down to Specialty Arms from time to time and see them at gun shows frequently. I've known John, the owner for many decades. I'm not sure how old he is, but I know that he was a pretty old guy when I was still in 6th grade. :-)
@hickok45 ... I remember several years ago I bought a S&W 357 Scandium Pocket Revolver from him! Still have it and its a very nice pistol, but you don’t want to shoot 357’s in it unless you have to!!! Haha... bought several firearms there in the past. Lately, I’ve enjoyed “looking” at the Outpost Armory, they always have a great inventory.
I believe the S&W Models 422 and 622 mags will fit. I owned an older A model 41, sold it and was fortunate to find another one a couple years later. Great pistols !!
Nice little shooter. I love plinking with my S&W 622.
Awesome!! I stand with Virginia!!!
I have a 41 when I competed in Bullseye. Still have it and it is one tack driver. I have a target with 5 shots at 75 feet that you can cover with a dime. Mine is topped with a red dot sight and has custom, fitted to my hand, grips. I believe the other S&W you're referring to is the 2206 TGT. I have one of those also.
I love my 22's to be 22's! That looks like a really fun one. I just bought 3 more of them just to have "gong wars" with my grand children. I love it! On a different note, I read about a cat calling you out for not supporting his page. I thought he might be a source of info but NAH, I clicked off pretty quick when I read that junk. I've been stayin up pretty hard on Virginia. To be honest it scares me. There is a line drawn on American soil again. This time, I don't think it's gonna stop at a couple days!
dang he's rocking that hat to the side like an OG... sick style Hickock! I run my hats like that too
Well, as much as I always try my very best to look "cool," it's totally accidental. :-) For some weird reason, I can't really feel it that my hat is crooked. It actually feels straight when it's crooked. I usually ask John before we start a video if my hat is straight. :-)
How sweet. A new video about a .22 right before me & dad are going out to shoot our .22
That's a nice pistol! I enjoy my 1995 Ruger, 22/45. There's a company called McFadden that makes a speed loader for it that works great.
You can really go through the ammo using it!
Awesome video! I own a Model 46 and a few Model 41s...Beautiful pistols!
Ballistol was developed to clean out firearms when ammo was corrosive. Washes to salts out. Great stuff, read up on it and you’ll definitely use it!
i have one and i love it, not the 30th anniversary, but still an amazing firearm
Hello over here from Cumberland County Tennessee! Big fan
Beautiful pistol. I found one on GB for sale from an Arizona pawn shop. Living in California I thought it would be impossible to import it but as it turns out we subjects of Ca. can import this pistol under the '"Ca. Olympic exemption". Finding an FFL who understood the exemption and was willing to do it was the hardest part of the transfer. But in the end it was doable. Even if you're in Ca.
I got 16 of those in my Armory, old USMC shooting team guns
TheAmericanGuy that’s really cool do they still have a shooting team and use them or are they kinda just sitting in there now.
I don't guess you'd want to get shed of one of them would you?
They're gorgeous pistols.. and I want one
Beautiful handgun Hickok
I bought one, took it to the range and the only ammo that worked consistently was high velocity ammo. I took it home after the first range trip and cleaned it. The trigger guard wouldn’t close, so I sent it back and had it fixed.
Just casually pocket carrying a G43x lol. Big pocket gun for a big man.
We love ya papa Hickok!
Looks like you're getting ready for the G44 with that big bucket of .22LR.
Bob Ross of guns.
Awesome! I bought a used model 41 in 1996, still shots great!
bought my Ruger 10/22 in 1976. Still works great!
I have always enjoyed shooting 22's they are,as you said, good firearms for target practice, if you can't hit the target, it is most likely do to you!
That's a really cool looking firearm
My left hand is loving those ambi grips!? Sweet!!
Bought a Model 41 two-barrel set (4 and 7 inch) awhile back. Great target shooter!
Nothing better for plinking with my boys than a nice .22 LR. Cheap, no recoil, fun shooting for even the completely inexperienced new shooter, or the long time shooter who suffers from Arthritis. Grab a few bricks of .22 LR and take your children to the range, and enjoy.
Happy to see your post Sir
!!!!!!!!! I think that was a LIMP WRIST !!!! JUST KIDDING lol !!! THANK U !!!!
Anything with wood handles blued steel made my smith an wesson is a classic
Atta boy Hickok...you didn’t dryfire it...a rim fire no no😁
I think the other .22 your talking about is the 22A with the same magazine. I could be wrong. Love your videos Hickok45!
I believe this one was the first handgun i shot back then. Thanks for sharing.
Best 22 lr
I have the version that followed this firearm, and looks to use the same magazines, the S&W 22A. The very definition of a tack driver, and just incredibly reliable if kept clean.
LOL @ the guy who gets free guns asking himself if he even wants a Glock 44. It doesn't matter if it's the Glock we didn't know we needed. We still want it.
@ 4:48 hickok is just like a kid that found his old toy back 😂👍
Happy Anniversary!
Still in love with the 1911.
Hickok45 may take out a javelin and throw it on the table 🤣🤣
Looks like a James Bond pistol...need a tuxedo to wield that pistol!
UP NEXT GLOCK 44
Yesterday I watched Hickock45 shooting a fully auto M60.
"Let's smoke a lil pot to get going." Never gets old 😂😂
16:25 "a great gun for *de* fence" nice one there lad
Beautiful firearm ❤️
Watching from Campbell county Virginia. Thanks for mentioning the fight. I'll be there January 20th
Good job. It's hard to imagine any gun owners in Virginia not showing up unless they just absolutely cannot work it out.
@@hickok45 everyone I know watches your channel. It's just a short hop over. You should join us. The event will be historic.
We love you guys !
Learned to shoot with a S&W model 41 twenty five years ago
It's my favorite!
Great video
I know I always liked hearing it, so, you are looking great sir! Your "super secret" "magic" diet and hard work show.
I’d love to see you do more 22lr reviews. Especially rifles. Maybe a comparison of CZ 457, Tikka T1x, Anschutz, Lithgow, etc.... 22lr is such a blast for competition as well as just for fun plinking.
Love your work 😀
