Nice truck. I have a 2002 2.7 and my fuel filter is mounted to the engine block under the intake manifold. I wish mine was this easy to get to.

That is a repair I would do if you ever take the intake off.

      It's a 2004 Tacoma. It's extremely low miles.

What year is that. Mine is 2007. Same?

Mine is a 04, the next gen starts in 05. It might be a little different but should be similar to how to remove and install on a 07. Make sure you check for leaks after you change the filter.

Why does that Tacoma look like it's going to Barret Jackson auction.😅

😁 it is the cleanest 20 year old vehicle I have ever seen that wasn't a restoration.

Do you have a video on fuel pressure regulator replacement on a 2005 V6 Tocoma?

    • @BadWrenchAuto

Not yet. Some regulators are attached to the fuel pump. If it is separate, I will be changing mine in a few months when I get it out of storage.

@@BadWrenchAuto Thanks. I am trying to solve a check engine light problem. The Toyota place could not find anything wrong. The codes are for lean bank left and right.

@R&D Andrews definitely low fuel pressure. There is a test port on the fuel rail, I think it's on the passenger side of the engine. Get a fuel pressure tester and make sure you are getting fuel pressure. I will look into regulators today and message you here.

@R&D Andrews it looks like there is a fuel pressure regulator. The regulator will be on top of the engine. Looks like it might be bolted to the inside manifold. Mine is a 04 and 05 is a redesign, so I would start looking there for the regulator. Make sure before you unhook any lines that you bleed out the fuel pressure. The pressure regulator could fix it, but if the fuel pressure is still low after that, then the fuel pump is starting to go out. And I have found that you have to put a new filter in after you change the pump because the pump will throw pieces of the pump onto the filter blocking the flow of the new pump.
