They go backwards on Y220 like that because of the way the industry they switch is set up. There's only on way in and one way out of the branch line that houses the industry and the there's no passing sidings on that line coupled with the switch being on the engine end not the caboose end. Plus with the siding being a dead end, it makes the most sense to just back in so they can set cars out and the engine still be at the front. Hope this helps
