How did it hapin
The hotel was riddled with asbestos and they couldn't afford to deal with it then all of a sudden it bursts into flames, the mind boggles.

Surprising how often these buildings that are a problem for developers 'accidentally' catch fire.

Stayed there around 15yrs ago" from Worcester on a Holiday, such a sad shame as i was told that its been empty for 10yrs,!! Also was told that the Moorlands Hotel at the side of Hacketts is also Boarded up and no more,!! Sorry to see this guys, hope you will get it all rebuilt,.

Annoyingly, my battery was flat on my phone so I'd filmed most of this on GoPro. Didn't notice that Bluetooth was on until I noticed the battery was draining quickly, grr

we heard a fire engin as we got the train staion . we were staying at the Cliffs last night and we had a fire alarm go off in the cliffs about 8am this morning

Great coverage, my dear. It was flipping cold when I got there despite the fire 🔥 .
It could of been an insurance job as no-one was buying the hotel so the owner bunged someone 50 quid to set the place a light thank god no one was hurt well what ever happened nk know no will ever know I just hope the no homeless people were in the building the main thing is that if noone was hurt fire
It doesn’t seem that anyone has been hurt - we don’t know why it’s been on fire
