Finally a scope with all the features and functionality I’ve been wanting in a normal scope footprint. No boxy design or big clunky stuff hanging off of it. I’ll be waiting for your review from the field.
As a new Army Lieutenant in 1982, I was trained on a M60A3 main battle tank. We had onboard lasers, sensors, and computers that provided all the ballistic data for our 105mm main gun. Put the crosshairs on the target, press a button to fire the laser and all inputs were fed to the computer that automatically reset the “lay” of the gun. All that equipment probably weighed about 500 lbs. Amazing to now see all that technology fit into a rifle scope.
Woo Hoo I can finally make those 100 yard shots I've been missing for 35 years here in Oklahoma timber. Great info and video. My favorite scope has been a Burris Fullfield 2, 3x9x40 for the last 25 years.
Been using Burris for years. A couple of Full Fields and a Signature back in the day. I had another for a while, maybe Black Diamond or something like that. Great glass for the money. Have Veracity’s on my 7mag and 30-06 now, both with the bullet drop reticle. Love them. The only reason I don’t have the Eliminator is because you can’t legally use electronic aided optics in several western states.
I use the sig sauer Sierra bdx Similar set up, zero at 100 yds. Use the handheld range finder, and it sends the information to the scope and alters the aim point. People say it takes out the skill a little? Enjoy the Burris Scope Regards from the UK
My buddy put one on his AR 300WM. It's pretty sick. We didn't get to stretch it out, but I think the bells and whistles really come into play when you hunt open country, and suddenly have to shoot up or down at an angle and the shot is pretty long; well within the caliber's ability, but too hard to judge how high to hold in a simple duplex reticle. Some scopes have all kinds of Christmas tree dots in them, and that can help, if you practice enough, but that's hard to do for some of us. I have to drive an hour just to shoot at a 100 yard range; close to four hours for open land with challenging angles. That's a lot of gas at nearly $5/gal. As pricey as this scope is, it makes financial sense when you factor in all the time and money, and the anguish of the one that got away.
Its good to see that Burris has kept improving the Eliminator, though I do wish they had kept the integral mounts as they moved forward. Its gonna be fun watching the next videos involving this scope and also seeing you use it on safari too!!! Good luck on your hunt,
WTW, we are all living vicariously through your adventures. That is some cool beans right there. I hear that an African guided big game hunt is more affordable than some here in the States. Good luck on your hunt. Can't wait to see the videos.
Man that is next level. Only one question. If you pull up factory ammo what if you're gun is not a 24 inch barrel but a 22 for example. the bullet is not gonna fly as fast starting from the muzzle so wouldnt that skew all the numbers on bullet drop? (Unless they added barrel length to the calculations)
Thank you thank you thank you ! I have seen this scope before and it is my favorite for allot of reasons. This not only is very convenient for just relaxing on the hunt but what a training tool ! This scope can teach you about the character of any rifle you own. Buy this use it and some things are going to transfer to your feel memory. I love this scope so much got to have it !!!!
Nothing like a quality scope. Where I hunt in the brushy mountains a scope ain't needed but appreciated when needed. I like to be able to look under my scope.
I think they are really cool and people have found them reliable. I'd use on something that couldn't kill me though. Just me. Emergency situations require simple things.
A bit more complicated than that. They don't tell you what rifle and specs they used to measure MV. Almost guaranteed your rifle won't be the same. Barrel length, semiauto or bolt action? They USUALLY use a 20" barrel and if you have a 16" then you have to guesstimate the reduction in published MV to get close to your rifle's MV. If they measure with a bolt action rifle, your semiauto will be slightly slower even with the same barrel length, but by how much?
@@BooDamnHooactually most ammo manufacturers use 24 inch barrels for testing most hunting rifles are 4 to 8 inches shorter which ends up being 100 to 300 fps slower than the factory specs .

@MikeFerguson-yq2jh you tell it your zero range, 100-150-200 whatever. You do that just like a normal optic. Then you select ballistic data that's pre loaded for your rounds, or you can fine tune it yourself with chronograph. All can be fine tuned afterwords
Cool as heck. I bought the hi tech Vortex binoculars which does the same thing, but way more efficient when it's being done in the scope! Good luck in Africa
I like Burris they are one of the few scope manufactures that has a lifetime warrant🙌 Hunters need to check their state because a lot of states won’t allow the options like this Burris has to hunt with so save your self a ticket and check before buying one! They are great for target shooting and I have had many of them on my rifle collection over the years but when I buy new I only buy Leupold scopes period! Over 60+ years of hunting reloading and collecting rifles and Leupold are not the cheapest but they are the best you will ever need and US made except some of the real cheap ones.
I think you alluded to the scope calculating flat ground distance to target calling it cant calculation, is that right? Also, I get the wind countering feature but assume that feature is subject to shooter’s appraisal of wind? And does the scope calculate for any counters beside a 10 mph crosswind?
Looking forward to your review on this. Curious about the weight and balance effects on your rig, and if the reticle seems busy, or intuitive. I do love me some gadgets!😂
Burris is my second choice behind Leupold . Back in the 80s, when I purchased rifles and scopes. The Burris scopes were on the ugly side compared to Leupold but found the Burris optics a tad better. Things are probably different now.
I've seen some of your video's on Sendero's. I've got an old Sendero in 300 RUM w/the HS Precision stock. Really accurate. This scope would be GREAT for that rifle. Too bad I can't afford it lol. BUT... Thx for posting. Good Luck on your Africa hunt. I went on a plains gamer in 03 and will never regret it. Saved for 3 years but it was worth it.
All the capabilities of that scope are amazing. People don't have to spend time on the range working on marksmanship or time in the woods working on woodsmanship. Maybe it's just me but it seems like you would be missing out on half the fun of your hunting experience...
Actually they would need to spend just as much time at the range as any other setup. Unless you can put every shot in the vital zone at any given distance you should not shoot at game from that far. That takes practice and knowing your equipment. At the end of the day you are still only as accurate as you can shoot. This only helps with one important variable, the holdover.
Glad I found your channel recently.. so many "gun" channels out there, that the guys are CLUELESS.. I like your no nonsense approach.. take it (new gun) out of the box, adjust scope, shoot groups.. (not this video, but...) no BS break in procedure, no running 20 different loads (who can afford that these days?) .. Anyway, I've had very mixed results with Burris for the last decade or so, curious how this holds up over time ;)
Burris is coming up in quality. Looks like they have copied sig Sauer bdx system and added there own touch. Extremely nice change for Burris and thanks for the video as a bdx proud owner I will be researching this product further.
I believe one can also manually zero in the scope and I think that is done by shooting at , like , 50 yards , then 75 yds , and then at 100 yds , if I recall correctly , and then the scope will calculate the other distances after zeroing . I think the scope can range find reflective targets out to something like 1200 yards and range find non-reflective target out to like 700+ yards . Although , for pinpoint accuracy , i hope they put more dots on the screen or if they can get rid of the dots altogether and make that reticle movable anywhere on the scopes . I've been stuck with this scope and the cheaper version (I think it was designed for crossbows and PCC guns ) in my shopping cart at Amazon for a couple of years now , I'm getting thirsty and hungry , amazon won't let me eat in their store .
