- How to make a Secret Base in the Grand Underground of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Pokemon Shining Pearl for the Nintendo Switch!
Once you get to Eterna City speak with the NPC inside the Underground Man's House to get the Explorer Kit, use this to go underground then come back up and speak with him again, this time he will tell you to find treasures hidden in the walls of the Grand Underground.
Do this then once you have succesfully dug up any treasure come back to him one last time to get the Drilling Drill which will allow you to create your Secret Base anywhere you want in the Grand Underground by presing "A".

I miss how back in the day you were able to decorate your base with a bed, fridge, plush dolls of Pokemon, flower pots etc. Now it's just statues or stickers...but I honestly find that boring. I also miss the Mulch lady, mulch was a soil to use before planting berries so you can have even more berries.
There is a spray duck that could replace the mulch
I AGREE WITH THIS 100 PERCENT. MY FAVORITE WAS LAYING OUT A PIANO TILE MELODY, SO YOU COULD ENTER AND WALK OVER IT AND IT WOULD MAKE A NICE SOUND. IT WAS LIKE ANIMAL CROSSING INSIDE POKEMON. IM REALLY UPSET THAT INSTEAD OF INCREASING ALL THE STUFF YOU COULD USE TO DECORATE YOUR SECRET BASE IN GAME, THEY BASICALLY MADE SECRET BASES USELESS EXCEPT FOR DIGGING 😞 IM VERY DISAPPOINTED, THAT WAS A HUGE REASON WHY I LOVED THESE GAMES
I finally just got a copy, was so excited about doing the bases again. Spent 20 hours playing but noticed I didn't see any furniture. Went to the underground, made a base and come to find out you can only place statues. Like wtf, I haven't been able to play a main line pokemon game since og diamond and emerald cuz they all look boring af.
Dude they really messed up not letting us decorate our base. Tragic
Can't believe they removed all the great features of the Gen 4 Grand Underground. Capture the flag, furniture, traps, all gone. "Faithful remake" btw

@@cosmicXtropics I hope so, but I'm not too hopeful tbh. They seem to have taken a different approach to the Grand Underground, and it looks like that's what they're set on. It's quite sad that we can play and interact with other players online via the Grand Underground, but can't do anything with them except battle and trade
@@afarensis9720 yeah grand underground is why I bought the game but also why I hate it. I don't have many online friends anyway so I don't even know if I could use all the features even if they were included.
Pokemon day is on the way though so I'm really hoping they have some form of additional content for bdsp. If not it might go as some of the worst remakes to date...
They really don’t tell you anything about the underground. It would have been nice if Roark’s grandpa gave you an instruction book or just replace the mystery gift icon with a go up option.

@@pokuhmoo9415 I didn't either as a kid, but now I've been replaying the games and the Underground Man never once mentioned being related to Roark or Byron, just that he "was the first man to go underground and dig some tunnels."
@@richardkirkland6805 there's an NPC in Sunnyshore who tells you that Roark, Byron and the Underground Man are all related (son, dad and grandpa)

I feel so old that I actually had to literally LOOK THIS UP to figure out how to make a secret base and what all the little Digletts popping up all over the place meant. 😩 Took me back to the days in the 2000s where we had cheat codes, guide books and Action Replay for stuff. Now, it’s RUclips videos lmao.
…It’s definitely NOT 2007 anymore and I’m definitely NOT still in middle school playing the OG Pokémon Pearl. 😂 That said, this game isn’t perfect but I’m enjoying the nostalgia trip lol.

They missed a perfect opportunity to make it like 3rd Gen secret bases but with these added statues. Shame.
Once you pick a spot is it permanent because I made one and I thought I could make more and it would auto magically destroy old ones but once I used the digger drill it didn’t let me make more
Hey man! I don’t know if you got your answer yet, but you are allowed to move your base! You just need to find one of the hikers that sells stuff and he might offer up some digger drills for a couple orbs and what not :)
I am just as lost because i thought the same thing.. it's kinda weird that it isnt like that isnt it
I made a base right under my house, and it is gone from that spot.
But when i was digging online, my base popt up all over the map.
But now i cant find it at the spot i placed it.
I bought a diggers drill, but i did not use it yet.
I hope its not lost, all my cristmas gift stateus were in it.

Yes, your statues will appear where you placed them in the new base.
Can you build multiple bases? Or demolish yours?
If you played the original Diamond and Pearl, you can only make one base; if you make a second one the first one will be demolished

Quick question has anyone encountered a blue sparkle in others people and your own base after going online? Can't found any information online about it.
I have, it's in my own base and not knowing what it is for is killing me
When a other person starts digging you will see the blue sparkle right next to him, you can then dig together
@@Alho-xs5ox This sparkle is literally INSIDE my base and is not against a wall or anything, I am unable to interact with it at all

I liked old diamonds secret bases. There was furniture back then. And I'm not a fan of the mini map showing where every dig spot is, Almost completely makes the radar useless

You have to have a save file of either Pokemon Sword or Shield and talk to an NPC in Floaroma Town

I opened a secret base but when i try to enter the game gets stuck on the loading screen and never loads in. Has anyone else had this problem? I cant use the secret base at all

I just realized you only have one shot at the base, once you place it, you can’t build another. I know that because I was trying it out for the first time and then I couldn’t change my vase at all
