      @@ClemsonFootballLive How could anyone criticize Mike Reed? I mean yeah he did miss on Fred Davis but that was the biggest miss in my opinion. Sheridan Jones should've probably been better than he was but they can't all be superstars like AJ Terrell, Trayvon Mullen, Andrew Booth, and Nate Wiggins. The job he did with Nate Wiggins honestly probably impressed me most out of all of them. You look at where Nate Wiggins started to where he ended up. I still remember Nate Wiggins not knowing how to track the ball and giving up a long pass play to South Carolina State and then getting torched over and over again against Wake Forest.

Not only that, but we absolutely have fans that are still drunk with the 2018 win, and they go into attack mode when anyone tells the truth about the current state of the offense. Like Dabo says and just said during the Spring Game, if the ball hits you in the hands, you catch it. Period. It has always seemed strange to me that our head coach played wide receiver and now they seem to be one of the least developed position group. Nothing against Grisham, but he needs to go.

    As an outsider looking in, I feel like Clemson fails too much on 2nd and long and 3rd downs in general. I could be very wrong about that, but it seems like the offense isn’t centered around the talents of the players there. I think more read options and pre snap movement would really help confuse the defense more.

    It is one of the simplest things anyone who has ever played understands .Offense requires more timing and working together Defense is about being an athlete and physical anticipation and reaction Defense is always usually until mid year ahead of offense for teams that have good defenses. GA & Alabama teams their defenses set up the offense with short fields etc. Have you not been watching football with any real.world analysis. You win with Defense go look at how many times the Defense gave DeShawn & Trevor short fields or added touchdowns .

    • @ClemsonFootballLive
      @ClemsonFootballLive  Месяц назад

      I see your point, but I think we agree more than we disagree. For example Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian, and Lincoln Riley are notorious for killer offenses while their defense struggles. Why? Coaching. Clemson’s offense has struggled for multiple seasons. It goes back to poor coaching at the position level.

  • @porschepal7932
    @porschepal7932 Месяц назад +1

    Hear me out here, I think our offensive line is ruining our quarterbacks. When they consistently don't have time to throw, I think they lock in on one receiver assuming they won't have the time to process their reads. And they also start to lose the touch on their passes and I think the pass blocking has a lot to do with it. I think Matt Luke can have a big impact on the quarterbacks if he can find a way to give them consistent time to throw and process the field and the defense post-snap.

    • @ClemsonFootballLive
      @ClemsonFootballLive  Месяц назад +1

      That’s a very valid point. I believe it was Jim Harbaugh who said that the oline is basically the deciding factor of success or failure. This could be the reason Swinney gave Grisham another chance. I definitely agree with you

    • @porschepal7932
      @porschepal7932 Месяц назад

      @@ClemsonFootballLive Maybe so. I definitely think Dabo should start thinking about guys that would fit the program but are also top tier receivers coaches. Grisham might not be as bad as we're all thinking though. It's hard for receivers to trust their quarterback when the quarterback is inconsistent. If the offensive line can get a lot better, we will find out for sure what the actual issues are.

    Having zero experience in the offensive coaching room has definitely been detrimental to Clemson. Now we have Riley and Luke in there, but they have a lot of work to do. These guys have had zero coaching from experienced high level power 5 coaches. My guess is it will take at least another year or so to retrain add/or recruit players that fit our scheme.
