Others posting here were right; on the PT Cruiser I show a traditional transmission relay thru 2006, then it looks like starting in 2007 it's integrated into the TIPM. I suspect if you did get the ok to install new TIPM, that several hundered dollars were wasted, and then a $6 relay fixed it? Even your diagram clearly shows that the relay is in the PDC, NOT the TPIM. 2007 diagram clearly shows TIPM, and only two wires in, for the control and load side power feeds.
I have a 2012 Dodge Avenger SXT Plus 3.6 VVT Engine Six Speed Auto. Fuse box looks the same. And it has a TIPM . I got stranded at night. Wouldn't shift from Low or 2nd gear. Towed home. Tightened Fuse box Torx Screws. Appeared loose. Tapped box. Made sure all harness connections were tight. Wiggled around trans input harness etc. Drove for 1 day everywhere and shifted fine again. Next day got to store near home . Restarted to head back.. stuck in Low or 2 again . Reverse is fine each time mentioned above. Raining now but believe it same issue.. What's your thoughts? Thank you in advance
Follow Up.... The Tipm & code 0882 were my problem. Went to LKQ Pull a Part , Savannah, Ga. and got a Tipm from same years of car , 2011-14 Dodge Avenger. $22 Bucks out the door. Replaced mine and reconnected battery jump posts, Switched key on and watched Check Engine light flash on/off for 15-20 seconds. When it stops flashing switch off then start car . Like new again. Shifts and drives perfect now. Thanks Brother!
P0883 Transmission controller receiving wrong voltage from TIPM. TIPM is brain of the car located inside the fuses box close to 12v battery. TRANSMISSION CONTROLLER large box located between wheel shell and bumper from driver side and has 4 plugs. Look under bumper and you will see it. Car worked perfect 2011 Dodge Caravan until I washed under hood. Drops of water sucked through the wires into TIPM. (White and Red sockets). Immediately after washing transmission start work very rough, relays in the fuse box started clicking, lights blinked, indicators says front door is open, fan radiator malfunction, brakes malfunction and etc. I saw Christmas lights in the car, very strange things and bunch of additional check engine trouble codes on OBD ii. How to fix : STOP and disconnect 12v battery wires as soon as possible. Disconnect TIPM BOX but DO NOT disassemble TIPM and fuses. Check wire sockets for drops of water. Probably you will not see water. Water can be inside TIPM. Use strong vacuum to suck water from all sockets / connectors, over fuses, over relays AND from wires plugs. Warm hot like 80°C / 200°F whole TIPM plastic box with hair dryer or heater. Vacuum it again untl it becomes cold. Repeat steps about 5 times total 1-2 hours. USE VACUUM do not blow inside! Vacuum will remove all little drops of water. Connect TIPM Connect battery wires Turn on switch to second click when lights on for 12 seconds (no run engine) Turn off switch Now turn on engine If transmission shifting very soft to D position you are win!!! Check engine trouble codes should disappear after TIPM will test them. 😁 If TIPM and wires vacuuming didn't help than repeat steps with transmission controller. Let the car dry under hood probably 2 weeks or more (depends from weather). It doesnt want to dry itself inside connectors or TIPM . Disconnect battery and open all connectors. DO NOT USE transmission when it works rough. Conclusion: yes everyone like clean car but do not wash under hood. 2ND REASON OF P0883 Bad alternator. You want to check voltage by Oscilloscope on low headlight bulb wire. If voltage jumping or you can see headlight is little blinking in night you alternator should be changed. Wrong voltage from alternator doing all electric parts work incorrectly and transmission will work incorrectly and rough.
I have a 2017 dodge caravan 58k miles. Same engine code, and not shifting when I’m driving. I immediately turned around and went home. Could this be the same problem? I haven’t washed under my hood, but I’ve only had it for 1 month. And the car battery died on me a week ago, I jump started it and it’s been fine, except now

I have a 2006 pt cruiser turbo, with the same problem, if I replace the tipm with one from the junk yard does it have to be from a turbo of the same year or a non turbo will do. Will it matter the year of the vehicle turbo or not Or as long as it’s a 2006 or after. Thanks you very much.

Want an easy fix, instead of replacing that entire TIPM/board, go buy a simple relay and bypass the bad wires. Want more info, watch the "Limp Home" Chrysler video part 2. Your welcome
@@darrenhaywood7924 I don’t have the car anymore, but this guy showed how the relay worked. Anyway, you can give it a try. If I recall, the wires to the TIPM can become brittle. Make sure you check and verify you don’t have a short somewhere. Good luck
Chrysler should have to pay to fix every P T Cruiser . This was a poorly designed system and we owners are stuck with costly repairs . This is not fair and there should be an immediate recall on every Cruiser made . I tried for years and Chrysler would not do a thing for me even under warranty . But I learned a $19,000.00 lesson never to buy Chrysler products again . And every body else shouldn't either .

Looking at your video of the tipm, it looks like plug in relays under the cover. You say the relays are not replaceable. Am I missing something?

Ok, question. I just left the ship w my 2006 convertible. Only code p0882. They said I need a new PCM...is this correct? Or do I also need a TIPM?
Jennie Harrington that’s hard to tell without looking at the vehicle
Where I go? So what was the problem & solution? Please confirm. Thx.

In the end I explain that it needs a new TIPM
