Great Information. I would love to hear more about how the API worked with the clients data and how you went about implementing that. Half a million pages? Could someone clear this up for me some? I have never heard of this before and read daily SEO tips and information. Thank You!
Bryan Foster yea same. I’m interested too. Anybody have any insight as to what he means? I think this will be a nice selling point when I’m pitching Webflow to clients. I can’t use Wordpress anymore. I just can’t. LOL
Also curious too. Bigger clients have SEO optimized through publishing thousands and sometimes millions of pages with keywords crafted around their target audiences search. What’s the process look like to integrating those half a million or so existing pages within a new webflow cms / hosting?
What would you do if that client ask "Hey Ran, we need you to create this X feature for our site, and we need to be able to edit the content of that", but it is not possible to do with the Webflow CMS? (And I mean, few months later after building the site with the Webflow CMS). You would have to tell them that it's not possible cause they're stuck with the Webflow CMS, and that CMS is limited to some specific features, and what they're asking isn't part of that features list, right? That's why I prefer using other simple to use CMS solutions like Couch CMS for example. Way more powerful than Webflow CMS, and can be hosted on any servers. Plus, you have access to the source code. Which is something crucial to me. I can't imagine a SEO firm, or a programmer asking me to add a specific line of code at a very specific place on the site, or adding PHP snippets to the site, and me telling them "Sorry, I don't have access to the source code". That sounds very unprofessional in my opinion. Just my 2 cents! Keep up the great work Ran, love your vids.
@CupOf SleepyTimeTea : You can inject code in the Header section or right before the end of the body section. Also there's an "embed code" element. But I mean, I cannot add PHP code anywhere for example. If it would be possible to select wether you want a HTML file based site or PHP, that would be awesome. @Vedran : I agree, that's what you would have to do, but like Ran said, you're already charging few thousand dollars more for the CMS integration. Let's say you charge an extra $2000 for the Webflow CMS integration. Then, few months later, your client asks for a new feature on the site that isn't insanely complicated, code wise, but that cannot be done since Webflow CMS doesn't allow you to do it yet. I think it sucks to tell your client "Sorry, can't do it". He will reply back for sure something like "What? I have paid $2000 for that Webflow CMS and it cannot even do this simple function?". And there goes the bad relationship with your client. I know it's your responsability to tell your client that if you use the Webflow CMS, it has limited features. But still, I don't like offering something to my client that cannot evolve over time. But for regular content modifications, Webflow CMS looks really great. Just don't like to be stuck in that eco-system.
I'm talking about for example, a small SEO web app that some agency install on some sites to be able to see data in the backend using a specific platform. Or any PHP scripts that can be found on Codecanyon or other marketplaces. I don't like being stuff on Webflow servers without being able to add whatever I want to the site. I understand the Webflow CMS has some specific functions, and more will be added over time, but the fact that I cannot access the source code, and add PHP scripts for example, stops be from hosting my sites with you guys, sadly.
With Webflow you do have an ability to add custom code, and I did add custom featured to their CMS manually when clients asked for it (using a developer)
Hey Flux, I like your content. How reasonable do you think it is for someone with no knowledge of coding to learn Webflow and freelance mid-range clients? I'm moving into graphic design have been interested in web design but dont know if I want to take up coding things or not. Webflow seems like a solid solution, maybe?
It's amazing to watch this old video of you Ran! Wow. 👏🏼
thanks! 😅

I so agree with what you are saying. It will only get better in 2018 as webflow will be adding a whole ton of features.

If templating is needed, Mustache.js coupled with json is a great alternative.

How is Webflow CMS for content editors?
my biggest concern as well im really sold on webflow but if it crashes and shut down in few years my ass will be in a lot of trouble.
1. Not very likely based on visible indicators 2. you can always export all your work as code
How much do you charge for your client hosting monthly?
webflow is great but hosting issues kinda contemplating
