I like this laid-back style of episode. The presenter's voice, sence of humour and the visual setting make the episode very enjoyable to listen to. I got enough excitement in my life, so i watch RUclips to relax.
Not sure why people use that one these days as the farther out you go in the outer solar system, the faster the winds are by a large margin, and Jupiter is at a poultry speed compared to fastest at Neptune, around 2400Km/h, this isn't the gusts either, just the general wind speed at the equator iirc.
Hexagons aren't when you get a curse lifted? Science is so hard! Lol I actually have no idea what a bestagon is, but I guarantee I will look it up and learn!
This was absolutely fascinating! I know it probably won't happen until I'm not around to see it or take part, but I'd give up anything to go to another planet or one of the moons of another planet. Even if I knew there was absolutely zero way they could bring me back, I'd still go. No question. To be the very first guy who ventures out onto Mars to get things started for more human colonists to follow would literally be a dream come true for me. I'm fine knowing I won't be back to Earth, and I would consider it a very high honor to be that guy.
I watch most SciShow "shows" and just realized this is the 'normal' SciShow, with a new set, and you're new (I think). Nice :) .. You've got a good pace, tone of voice, inflection, and mannerisms. loved this episode also. The hexagon on Saturn is bonkers (I remember when they first started talking about it back in the early 90s). Looking forward to all the new interesting goodness that is SciShow :) ..
*Fun fact for you that you probably havent known about.. The electromagnetic properties of different planets effects the shape and properties of the ice formed by the water.*
The following is not aimed soley at you. I have noticed that many people get this wrong. I thought that students, especially non native English speakers, reading this might get confused So. 'Effect' is a noun. The effect of the rain on the plants was good. 'Affect' is a verb. To affect something or someone you change it. So the electromagnetic properties .......affect the shape..... okay, what happened to Neptune's Great Dark Spot? It was in the science books I read as a kid in the 90s, but nobody talks about it anymore. Did it just kinda lose momentum and fade away?
Too relaxing for me 😅 And seeing all the comments, this is clearly a great format for lots of folks. I guess not everyone has my ADHD. Variety is the spice of life. I'm sleepy
8:20 "For comparison, the *entire* United States used a little under *500 gigawatts* in 2023" Folks, folks, folks, you of all people should know the difference between a unit of power, e.g. gigawatts, and a unit of *energy* , e.g. gigawatt- *hours* . Unless you meant that the US's average power consumption over the period of calendar year 2023 was 500 gigawatts (which sounds a wee bit high), you presumably meant to say the total consumption was 500 gigawatt-hours.
I was going to make a comment about the pins like "ha ha saturn barely knows what metals are" but then I found out hydrogen becomes metallic near its core. Wild.
I'm surprised the diamond rain on Uranus and Neptune didn't come up! Which are hypothesized that it could rain diamonds as large as a million carats (200kg/440.9lbs)!!

You forgot to warn the guests about Jupiter's winds fast enough to shred you like a cheese grater.
For real?damn,no good pictures from this planet😰
it wouldn't be the wind what does that, it'd be the crystals of the various ices swirling in those winds that'd puree you.
You only do that if the party is entertaining enough to avoid awkward silences.

I love that the draw in for this video is that it'll help you be social at a lame party. So kind of you to assume I go to parties 😂
Being social is the lame part here.
nah she hit me with the darude sandstorm 💀
great facts tho, will be sure to use them at the next party.
Totally trolled everyone who has that set up.
