- Here’s a lesson about finding your tremolo motion. This was a key for me to breaking through having good technique but not being able to press on into playing faster. It was an answer for me and hopefully helps a few folks here as well.
Part one shows how to hold a pick. There’s a George Benson at the dinner table story and a description of multiple ways to hold the pick “the right way”.
Next we go through isolating the most economical movement your wrist can make. It will be fast, controlled and clean and can even feel effortless. We walk through how to isolate the motion and begin finding it on your strings.
Lovely, lucid explanations - thanks for this, Josh!
Thank you! Much appreciated
Beautiful guitar
Hello, Congratulations on the video, I learned to play like this, however I play metal, and the difficulty of fast licks is greater than using the pick in the conventional sense, but great metal guitarists use it like this, which would be backward picking, I even thought to switch to the conventional, but I would practically have to relearn how to play the guitar
I do think you’re an engineer the way you explain this. Thanks and great video to shame you don’t have more views, but you did get my view.
Ha! Thank you. I probably should have been an engineer. But I guess I am just a guitar teacher and musician. Thanks, I appreciate the kind words and glad it helped a bit. I know I should post here more often. I share a lot on Facebook, if you’re there, look me up:
