Hello. I have The Decca albums box set only. For me it has the classic albums except the first, which is a great album and one of their best. Caravan is one of the essential and representative Canterbury bands. A huge family tree. Great musicians all over. "In the land of grey and pink" album has been in my mind and heart since the first time when I heard it, has that infinite trascendental inspired playing, one for the ages. And the magic already shows always when you play it. Even better than a masterpiece. Almost obligatory purchase for UK rock and prog rock fans. 70s music lover's heaven. Thanks for showing.
Hi Ricardo, thank you for watching. I could not agree more. In the Land of Grey and Pink has a sound unique to itself. A true PROG classic that everyone should own. Phil :)
Very cool episode Phil. I've really only very recently discovered Caravan, you've inspired me to properly get into them 😄 btw almost 3k subscribers? Excellent!! K
Like Caravan a lot. I was introduced to them via The Best prog album in the world ever CD set. Been hooked since. The aforementioned compilation introduced a load of artists and I've bought loads of stuff because of it. Cheers Phil great video.
Hi Stephen, thank you for watching. That was an interesting and unexpected compilation at the time. It is amazing how the term PROG is now so cool! Phil
@@NowSpinningMagazine Thank you Phil.....I hope you meant Roger and not Michael! I think both bands will bring you strong viewership....will look forward to it as usual.
Hi Phil, I have all of these sets shown, and also the Mega-box shown earlier. Seen Caravan live a couple of times, in London and in Sweden as well. As you say, a very BRITISH band.
Fortunately I had the chance to buy the "mega boxset" from Madfish (I've also bought the Gentle Giant one), but I do know not everyone can afford it. I's beautiful, by the way. I have some older japanese Caravan SHM-Platinum editions :) Keep on the good work.
Alas, the first album was not included. Maybe, for some legal reason towards the record company (it reads "The Decca Deram Years"). But a wonderful edition, though.
hi phil , nice boxes i love canterbury bands, do you know the book write by :AYMERIC LEROY , i"m proud a french man , title of the book "l'école de canterbury"edition "le mot et le reste", 730 pages on ALL the bands , A BIBLE for "canterbury tales"!!!💚💙🐱
I have In The Land Of Grey and Pink with extras, Girls That Grow Plump In The Night with extras and the two disc Anthology from the early noughties. I am quite happy with that as I prefer the more heavy side of the band. I wonder if Kenny Everett was inspired by Caravan to come up with the character Cupid Stunt.
I was going to get the 50 years box set as I was hoping it would be like the Nazareth set which was also from BMG but the Heep set was very disappointing for me. If you are new to Uriah Heep and you see it for £100 then perhaps it is ok but for long term fans I would avoid it. A huge amount on unreleased material was prepared and then rejected at the last moment. None of the albums included had extra tracks. Some albums were doubled up onto one CD with horrible merged artwork. Then there were the band selected CDs which doubled up on tracks already included. I feel this was a lost opportunity for a band of Uriah Heeps status.
@@NowSpinningMagazine same here Phil being a huge Heep fan the later box sets are questionable.A Time Of Revelation came out in 1996 and Chapter and Verse came out in 2000s some time.I've been into Heep since '71 one of my favorites of all time

I have these three box sets. The World Is Yours is my favorite. But all three are exellent
One of the first songs that we played on acoustic (around the campfire) was Land Of.....This is a brilliant review.
Thank you 🙏
a vintage Brit like yourself, superbly covering these vintage Brit bands, I hope you won't forget HUMBLE PIE and THE STREETWALKERS!!
Hi Dafalex, thank you for watching. I have a video planned for the recent Michael Chapman box set and I will add Humble Pie to my list ! Phil :)

Hi Olle, thank you for watching. They are a band I have appreciated as I have got older. Phil

I have the Deram/Decca box set. I wish that similar sets were released from Camel and the Moody Blues.
Totally agree, I have the 4CD Camel set. I can imagine Madfish creating a career defining box set for Camel. Phil
@@NowSpinningMagazine I heard that Decca/Deram were supposed to do other box sets similar to the Caravan one
Hi Phil, the Caravan set by Madfish is down to £174.99 (£100 off) on Burning Shed right now.
I am tempted I have to say!
@@NowSpinningMagazine mine being delivered tomorrow, very much looking forward to it. It is a lot of money but £100 off is an impressive discount.

Phil do you have any of the Uriah Heep box sets that would be a cool video
