If I Could Do It All Over Again.... is my 2nd favourite Caravan album after The Land of grey and Pink! It's REALLY good. Was just listening to it yesterday go figure. Nice catch!
I got to see Caravan when the Unauthorized Breakfast Item came out at the Keswick in Glenside, PA just north of Philly. Annie Haslam introduced them. Nektar played after them. Good concert, though I wish I would have seen them back in the day.

Caravan are great! The first self-titled album and The Land of Grey and Pink are my favourite albums by them.

Ah you did buy the box set you little tinker. I would have loved to own it but if I spent that much, on the set! The Missus would have gone barmy. Thanks for reviewing the set, it was a pleasure watching.
It's a great box set, very well stocked with goodies. By the way, the expensive signed box was one with a signed print of the book cover, the signed photo is in all the boxes. One other thing, Canterbury is IN Kent not near it!. Would love to see the Wishbone Ash box unboxing...

Great packagi g that is, I love Caravan.
Love this set. As far as Madfish goes, they really do a great job. I've also got their Gentle Giant and Steve Hillage sets. I liked the fact that the live stuff on the Caravan box (except for maybe one show) all sound really good. There are a few of the live CDs on the Gentle Giant box that sound pretty much like bad bootlegs. Still a great set though...
I don't have this set which looks great in comparison to the VdGG one. I like the way the original art is reproduced for each album, and live shows. The VdGG box has really nasty storage for the discs which will damage them, and there is no original art with the CDs. Top marks for whoever put the Caravan one together.
Great prog those old Caravan albums from the Seventies. I have my own RUclips channel Harold's Prog Rock Show with new shows about all albums by Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes and Emerson Lake & Palmer. Enjoy.

@@houstonburkhead5188 Steve Howe and Robert Fripp are the two pillars of PROG GUITAR (sorry Hackett!) so check out a variety of KING CRIMSON (they are very...uh....schizophrenic! so they've had like 15 versions of the band with numerous lead singers.... one tune they sound like the Moody Blues....and the next like horror music!

THE WEIRDEST PROG GUITARIST, is my guy FRED FRITH (not fripp!) who is part comedian, part mad scientist! (He'll put his guitar on a table and use dustbrooms and other props on his guitars. He was in HENRY COW, a very obtuse / abstract UK 1970s prog act.)

@@jonbongjovi1869 hey thank you so much for these suggestions. King Crimson and Genesis are two huge bands in prog that I actually have not checked out yet. So yea they are definitely next. Obviously in the land of prog I still have alot to learn. But i am enjoying the journey.

Yes, there's a big Learning Curve to playing outdoors (ex: you will get some complaints depending on location), but holy crap it's the most rewarding thing! (imagine if musicians all practiced outdoors instead of inside their bedrooms!)

METALLICA's audience is millions of times SMALLER than mine, because they ONLY play to the converted / the choir, while I do the precise opposite: i only play to strangers who don't know me! Every human with eyes and ears has to listen to my artsy instrumental music if only for a minute, walking by! Every race, class level, age, etc, MUST listen to my artsy, mysterious music....and to my shock almost all tell me they LOVE it! I did not expect Plastic Mall Girls to like me or my music, but they scream "I love you!" every day every month! Trumpsters LOVE ME and my music, and everyone who HATES Trumpsters LOVE ME and my music! (plus the public is STARVED for culture and STARVED for Something New, which is what I do.)
(I even did Tronic Uke for 2 hours last nite, in 20 degree weather cuz I just wear layers! I make strangers DANCE down the sidewalk! That's the best thing ever!)
Even crazier, most ppl will never buy a Metallica CD or see them live....while an endless stream of strangers (!) give me $20 tips (lotsa $5, $10 bills, and rather frequently I'll get a $50 or $100 from ONE stranger!! MOST give me OVER $1!) (Like $3.)........so it's like they're buying TWO CDs of me.... but i never had to make or sell any CDs, get it?
And the ONLY REASON MUSICIANS TOUR.....is they HAVE TO. (Touring is super-wasteful [especially stoopid big murica] and you don't even have time to sight see or make out with a girl!)
If Metallica played the SAME CITY every night for 3 years, they'd RUN OUT OF PAYING CUSTOMERS in 2 - 4 DAYS...while I can play ONE city....for 100 years and NEVER RUN OUT OF PAYING CUSTOMERS. (!!!!)
YOUR FAVE bands made 3 CENTS for every DOLLAR they earned! Touring is insanely UN-PROFITABLE. (HA: after Floyd fired Rick Wright, he was salaried for THE WALL tour, and he was the only member of the band to MAKE ANY PROFIT, ha ha! THAT is how stoooopid touring is!)
I'm sure i've given you this PEP TALK SPIEL, but you would make TEN TIMES the tips I do, cuz you're a very attractive gal (ha: i get a lot of tips by dudes out on dates trying to impress their gal!) - - - you'd get tips just sitting there with your bass NOT PLAYING! (I got a $20 tip once, while just doing my nails gold glitter and hadn't even plugged Tronic Uke in yet!)
PLUS, you're the kind of gal ALL DUDES fall for.... yet you're NOT the kind of Pretty Monster that other gals all resent and hate! Ergo you'll get even better tips than an ORDINARY pretty gal musician!
And if your BF Yoan (?) is a musician, you two could practice outdoors all the time! TOO MUCH FUN.
AND I CONTROL if I tour at all or not! (I am the rare human who enjoys touring bc I'm super-gregarious and curious.)
YOU AND YOAN SHOULD GET A passenger van, take out the back 2 rows of seats and turn it into an xmas-light band room on wheels!
Me and my pal Taze (girl shredder really into 1990s Japanese prog metal like some of X-Japan) would take fantastic ROAD TRIPS and sleep in my disco explosion van! We'd go up and down the New England SEACOAST (so many cute towns and cities and tourists!) any time we want (or we can change our plans any time, while all DUMB BANDS have to buy Tour Insurance in case they have to cancel shows or tours)! (DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMMMMMB!)
We'd sneak into public swimming pools at night (!) and smoke grass under the moon and stars on warm summer nights! IT WAS HEAVEN! (Except Taze has debilitating mood swings, sigh. And she has move far away now, sigh.)
