I don't think we'll see different TYPES of people even if we see new faces. Ruto is a product of two generations of Kenyan politics starting his career under Moi in 1992 (Youth for Kanu 92 aka YK 92). He came of political age in a system that caters to political tribal king/queen pins who bring their clients votes to support those who've rewarded them with Cabinet or parastatal positions. He knows no other kind of politics since that type of politics has always worked. He has not had to learn anything new. But the Gen Z segment of our society are putting that political calculus on its head. There is no tribal leader, community leader, religious leader who can turn around and say “we" are content. It's democracy as it should be practiced and not as it has been.
Dialogue isthe way
Raila MUST stop this hypocrisy and fooling Kenyans. People have died demonstrating during the ongoing crisis, people died during his maandamano too. Does people have to die for him to have a handshake? He and his party ODM have been criticizing their own MPs who joined Ruto earlier. That's nonesense. It's the high time Raila leaves us in peace and go home!
