    Hey Trogly, thanks for the review. After seeing it, I went ahead and bought it as my first Gibson. I wanted to share a couple of odd differences and see if you would comment. First, my 3-way switch color is white, not black. Seems kind of odd, but easy enough to swap if I choose to. A bigger deal though, is the sticker inside of the cavity. Mine reads "Style: Figured" and "Gibson: Supreme". Have you heard of Gibson changing their naming convention in the middle of a production run? Lastly, I checked mine for any remaining painter's tape at the end of the neck, but no luck ;)

    Trogly, I love your videos. I just can't seem to wrap my head around Gibsons QC. At that price point that guitar should be flawless. I mean tooling marks on the fret nibs, buffing compound on the fret binding. Splintered wood in the pick up cavities. Saw dust inside the body. Masking tape at the end of the neck. They need to do a better job with their QC. Keep up your great educational videos.

    I'm a fan of ES 335s, and this one is an ES 335 with a bonus with all those killer tones. having so many options makes it where it could take the place of three guitars. for people that don't want to have a bunch of guitars in their collection. a one guitar does it all kind of thing so versatile, if you get my meaning? and color and it's arrangement is great. in other words what's not to like about this guitar? besides the price being a tiny bit on the high side. it just means a person would have too save up a few more $. which is not such a bad thing.

  • @STORMBREAKER_250

    Using Burstbuckers is actually pretty smart. The Burstbuckers don't actually split all the way. When you use the push/pull, you get like 10% of the other coil, so it alleviates a lot of the feedback issues.

    • @kentfranklin736
      @kentfranklin736 5 месяцев назад +1

      If that were the case then the DC resistance reading would've been different when he had the push-pull in the up position. Instead they put resistors on the push-pull pots to 'tap' some of the signal. You can see them when Trogs has a look inside the F holes

    I don't care how often I've already said this in comments below uploads like this one. I feel inclined to repeat myself. Gibson really needs to study the coil-tapping systems in guitars built by other manufacturers to improve upon their own semblance of it. If I purchased this guitar model, I would swap out the coil-splitting feature for phase cancellation.

      Agree. I bought a used Yamaha SA2200 for 1000 dollars. It has maple body, mahagony neck and ebony fretboard, and all wood work is just perfect. A previous owner changed to Grover tuners, and I changed to a switch-craft pickup switch. Now the guitar was so good so I installed a set of Wolfetone Marshallheads splitable alnico V pickups. With all that I came up to 1400 dollars, but sound, playability and looks is just great. Ok, a surfgreen es Supreme would be nice, but it’s 3000 dollars more.

    Probably a dumb question here. Ok so ES stands for Electric Spanish does that mean the LP in LP-6 is Les Paul?

      Yes, it does. They have a Les Paul signature (like you see on the Les Paul guitars' headstocks) too. A bit below the cone.
