Unfortunately grunge music sidelined her . It’s horrible … Mariah Carey came out in 1990 too , I think she was trying to show the world she was just as good or better . This is 7 minutes of real highs and then bring low . You gotta have one heck of a voice to sing this ! And she did … Jesus Bless her !
What a week that was in Brazil in January of 1991. Despite the presence of Guns N Roses and INXS, it was Deborah that stole the show, if you ask me. Of the few live performances floating around of "Miracle" this is the best; even better than the one recorded a few months later in Japan. Deborah is in great voice when she does it on The Joan Rivers Show too, but it's the edited version and not the extended version that she did during the OSA tour.
*_keep in mind, the temperature that day in Rio was 104 degrees Fahrenheit, or 40 degrees Celsius (Centigrade) !!! DEBBIE GIBSON WAS ZAPPIN' IT TO 200,000 FANS UNDER THESE CONDITIONS !!!_*
Verdade, Ela atraiu a atenção de 120 mil pessoas no velho Maracanã há vinte nove anos atrás hipnotizando com sua bela e doce voz marcante e incrível ,viva debbie Gibson, está incrível artista e diva loira
This is AMAZING!!! Thank you sooo much for sharing! Not only I've never seen this before and but I didn't know she did this on this stage. Would you PLEASE post more if you have from this show.
@waynebrasier...I think the lyrics say: "...a split-second stop of my heart." Meaning, her heart stopped in a split-second/even faster than a second. I could be wrong, but that's what I always thought she sang.
One line in the song has always mystified me. Perhaps someone can explain "The second stop of my heart." Is this a reference to the concept of the Rodgers-Hart song "My Heart Stood Still"? It must have been a pleasure for Debbie's singers to be performing songs with unexpected musical figures and rich lyrics.
Why this record failed I will never know. It was and is absolutely stunning. The whole "Anything Is Possible" misfire I will never understand except for the terrible and depressing album cover.
I'm a massive Deb fan but I think it's really self indulgent that she did a 7 minute version of this song at Rock In Rio, this was the song that finished off her career in the USA and is a song I've never taken to in spite of owning every single album she's done bar the two Memory Lane Ones (Btw if anyone knows how I can get my hand on them PLEASE tell me!!). Anyways as for this song - it didn't even make the Hot 100 at all. She could easily have done an edited version of this and something more up tempo like It Must Have Been My Boy or One Stop Ahead.
The most underrated and unappreciated song of Debbie
She was so beautiful in this concert.
It's 2022 for me and I still love her. Her songs are magical. 😍😍😍

If you are Deborah, I love you. Your performance was great. But I was afraid you were going to pass out during this song.
+George Luzzatto i am not Deborah Debbie Gibson, as She is a Goddess, and i am just a man, a mere mortal...
+theSTAR70 Well, at least we have our passion for her in common.

Ela cantou bem está música de sua autoria, uma balada romantica de motivacao religiosa espiritual
She looks great with short hair!
BARRRRFFFF women look like boys when they cut their hair short.
Wow, we can totally see what a traumatic experience being front row at this show was for you.

The line is "A split second stop, of my heart"
0:07 Alan Childs, the former drummer of David Bowie!

Cade Buchanan True artists do what they really want to do sometimes no matter whatever other people say nor disagree.
@@guitar11diary Just like Stevie Wonder and his album Songs in the Key of Life.
...this so-called mircale comes with unwanted reality....
