I’m not an Arsenal fan but how lovely to get to watch this 👏👏👏. You can’t not love Beth and Viv, and kudos to Arsenal for letting us all follow their journey 👏👏
This heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. To come back from that type of devastating injury talks about the strength of their soul. Thanks for sharing their journey. Looking forward to more episodes.
I was 12 when I did my ACL. I loved playing football with all of me, but I never got my confidence back after that. Obviously football isn’t my career but this documentary means a lot. ❤❤❤
I was 14 when I did my first ACL. Had stopped playing footbal a couple years before. Took me 2 years but I went back to footy. Found my life through it again. Tore my 2nd ACL last season, but nothing will take that love and passion I found for it away. I'm not gonna live in fear, what happens happens but if I can have fun then it's worth everything
Hearing Beth and Viv describe what they went through reminded me of when I ruptured the ACL in my left knee back in March 2006. Crazy thing is that it was during the warmup before a game. I planted my left foot while passing the ball with my right foot, with my body leaning slightly to my left when my left foot slid left as well and I heard a "pop". The knee isn't meant to bend to the left, but mine did.
i honestly cannot image how hard it must be for them, 2 of the most amazing footballers, to miss THE WORLDCUP which is every footballers dream stage. looking at them go through every little process for the comeback makes me genuinely emotional and paintful but also very very proud ♥ now that theyre back on the pitch, i hope they can shine brighter than ever🌟🌟!!
Beth mead you are a really great inspiration to all girls who want to play. I loved all your goals in the euros and I wish I was in your time line so I would be allowed to play. I am the age of your precious mum and I thank your mum and dad for gifting us England fans to enjoy your immense talent. I wish you and viv all the love on your your footie career. Keep the goals coming Beth your my fave player xx
Amazing insight into what goes behind the scenes and also how two extremely close partners deal with horrific injury. I was out with arthritis for three months this year and the pain is real. I'm glad that women finally have shoes being designed for them. Long overdue. Great stuff.
Wasn’t a supporter of Arsenal when Beth got her injury, but looking at her slamming her fist down at 5:23 into the pitch in so much pain… that was truly heartwrenching to see
@@thejason347 no, but I do remember feeling gutted for them at the time. I didn't become a fan until after I lived in LON and when Alessia signed to Arsenal
I had the same injury from playing football and watching this has really made me emotional. It's so strange too as watching this has subconsciously made my knee hurt😂
Seen this on the website twice already and Have sobbed both times ❤. When's the second Episode coming out because it currently Almost 12:00 am for me!? 10:17
So annoying. I was at Beth's game. She had been battered all game and like she said, shouldn't have gone for the ball. It was hard to see but great to know she has support. This is a great series for the fans!

its cos theres no research into acls in women players cos theres no funding. theyre only starting research now on how female build and hormones affect acls
whos, Viv? she had a hamstring graft from the other leg to create a new ACL - Beth used the patella idk why there was a different approach, Leah also seemingly used the hamstring from the other leg (don't know about Laura) would be interested to know why there was a different surgery for them
Are women footballers getting more acl injuries now because they are playing more and at a more intense level as they are getting alot better than they were a few years ago but not using the right facilities or something different that the men pro footballers do?
I think Viv said her minutes doubled from one season to another without any significant change 'behind the scenes' male footballers from a young age prepare the body to expect a high level of football, female footballers do not experience the same treatment - there is a distinct difference at academy level between the sexes in the way they are raised. the male body is used to training at a high level from a very young age but because the women's game has progressed at a fast pace the training hasn't kept up with the demands of the sport

So that moment made you a fan? Being a fan means being in pain a great deal of the time, but it's not often one becomes a fan because of pain.

doesn’t even matter if you’re an arsenal supporter or not, if you’re a supporter of the sport you feel for every single player going through this❤️🩹

The knee problems has to do with the pitch. The players don’t play on natural surfaces anymore.
ACL injuries happen on natural and artificial turf.
Your claim has been ruled out as a cause.
