@@rosean374 it’s been over 20 years I’m didn’t move on from Bruce lee. Asian men are not next fetish thing as you say, Asian (Korean) men are here to stay 😉
I think this only applies to East Asians and East Asian passing/light skin Southeast Asians, not brown Southeast Asians or South Asians. The discrimination and colourism between Asian communities is another layer in this beauty standard discussion.
The sex appeal goes beyond their good looks, as the one person said. There are "Koreaboos" who are superficially attracted to kpop idols, but most ARMYs are attracted to BTS in particular for also their swag, dancing and other musical talents, intelligence (esp the members who write and produce), and esp their emotional intelligence, which Bang PD (and their parents, I presume) instilled in all of them
When I was a little girl, my dad used to take me and my sister to the theater to watch martial arts movies. She and I used to fall in love with the handsome Samurai. All three of us were taking karate so we were big fans of Bruce Lee as well. Although BTS didn't open my eyes to "Asian men", they did open my eyes to the beautiful country, culture and language of South Korea. I can't wait to visit there. 💜
I started with Kung Fu movies because of Bruce Lee about 10 yr ago. Then some KDramas . I can't get enough. I love the Historical the best. I discovered BTS around the Blood Sweat and Tears. I fell in love. I went back and watched anything I could find. I am a 61 year old white women. The culture is so interesting. My favorite TV is VIKI . Asians are on the map now. I don't think they can go anywhere but a steady incline of up. The actors are so good. The young KPOP idols male and female work do hard. They have earned their bragging rights. Big fan of all.
Me too! 64 white female, but Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is what caught my eye first. Then Daniel Dae Kim in Lost. Then dramas, then 2016 BTS. Anyway, similar trajectory. Haha! Now we are in the rabbit hole. 💜
BTS has definitely changed the Western perception of beauty and masculinity. Their global presence has brought it front and center. You often hear even western male celebrities and RUclipsrs mention their handsomeness. And when global media has made inappropriate, racist comments, ARMY is always quick to call them on it. I love that not just BTS, but Asian men in general fill up the TC Candler 100 Most Handsome Men in the World list every year. The world needs to stop being so close-minded and recognize that every culture, every race has beauty. And above all love people because they're people. 💜
@@KpopGrandma the way BTS never really put themselves out to break these visual stereotypes in the first place (because sadly, they too faced some nasty comments and criticism because of internalized beauty standards among East Asian or Asian in general), and now they're being hailed as one of the hammers hitting the wall just really speaks volumes about how eventually, just them communicating beautiful messages, being themselves, comfortable, and just vulnerable enough, are already enough to captivate us. We see them for how they've made us feel and learn so it only makes sense people will protect them as much as they can!
On another note, Butter is actually the song where I feel BTS members have now fully accepted that they have the charms as adults together as a group as they step up to a bigger stage (as if there is one) and have received outpouring love from many fans whom they've helped, which we'd gladly focus on all the time. Although the English releases may not have a deeper message, this is a phase of growth that we need to appreciate because they've grown a lot since the School era, so they are in a different state.
Oh my goodness!!! This video has humbled me and brings me to tears. I am humilited and bereft for the harm I (we) have caused. As a Caucasian 66 year old grandma and US citizen ... please accept my deep and profound compassion and apology for the abuse and castration that you and billions of other Asian men have received. Please accept my apology for the hypersexual projection we have impressed on Asian women. I have no conscious excuse for either. I have had my own personal awaking through watching Chinese drama (gorgeous actor Yang Yang) (because of Yang Yang's inspiration and since the Pandamic started... I have been studying Manderin Chinese and hope to spend some time in China) and then I moved on to the prolific KDrama (too many gorgeous actors to name here). I now watch nothing else. I was also introduced to the extraordinary and gorgeous vocalist and musician Dimash from Kazakhstan. This collection of Asian artists opened the doors for my delightful immersion into BTS 7. I am profoundly grateful. (As soon as the Pandamic is lifted and travel is eased... I now have full intension to come to Korea and enjoy its people, food and sights. Thanks to Asian Theory my personal awakening has deepened and has been expanded. I now must confess that Asian men are the most beautiful men on the planet. And... That includes you... Handsome! Thank you, Asian Theory! Thank you, BTS 7! Thank you, ARMY!!!
@@butwhoasked1821 My apologies, I didn't know what troll is. I had to look it up. Now I do. Sigh. My sincere apologies if I have caused any harm or distrubance to others. I was sincerely apologizing for my own lack of experience and insight. I was expressing my appreciation to Asian Theory for teaching me and giving me his enlightened perspective. I am still grateful to ARMY! I am still grateful to BTS 7! I am still grateful to Asian Theory!
They stayed true to who they are since the beginning while evolving over the years and becoming a better version of themselves over the years. I think that really resonated with so many people. Plus they give us works of art.
This is personally true for me. The thing is, in Europe there is even less Asian representation than in the US. The number of different cultures are generally more present, and Europeans adapt more easily to other languages, cultures so they accept new things quite easily on a daily basis, more than Americans who are quite closed-minded (in general). But by contrast, Asian communities are a very small minority in Europe, few Asians live in Europe, of which they have little representation. So in Europe, it is not frowned upon to be interested in different Asian cultures, the only problem remains how Asians are perceived as individuals because they are poorly represented and come from a minority. So, from a very young age, I used to see people talking about Asian cultures, especially Japanese, which resonate a lot in my country, whether it is people who want to learn languages, who watch series, read books, love food, love the values and traditions of these countries, I was exposed very young, and yet I have always been more interested in the Anglo-Saxon culture, the European ones, it is only when I got interested in BTS and that I became a fan that my interest in their culture and other Asians grew, since then I am interested in languages, countries and their history, arts, series and movies, food, customs and standards, and it's exciting. So honestly, even though I was pretty exposed, I really opened up to that part of the world after BTS, they changed the standards of men as well. For me, too, I feel like I have been looking for 'my type' of man for years and have finally found it. They show that Asian men are very attractive, they are becoming THAT representation that so many Western countries miss, no matter whether or not they were exposed to the culture. It also shows that men who are sensitive, open, tactile are attractive, they change from male toxicity. They impose the standards that already exist in part in Asia to the rest of the world. Frankly, I am proud.
@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024 Yes, only in UK, but I don't live in England, and after having visited a lot of European countries. I can say, that apart from Indians in England, Asian communities are very rare, I believe they do not even make 10% of the population of my country. We have a lot of communities from various countries in Europe, especially from Eastern Europe, there are a lot of communities from Africa and the Middle East but we don't have communities from Asia, or even America in general (except from the US and Canada), here you will not find Mexican or Brazilian communities for example.
I got into BTS this year. I watched Crash Landing on you as my first k drama show which was followed by Descendants of the Sun. I was totally into K dramas when I found BTS. Before knowing these actors & musicians my perception about male handsomeness was a conventional one. However, these boys changed my thoughts on beauty. I find actors like Hyunbin, Sung Jung ki & all BTS members extremely hot and attractive. And I am so happy more & more people everyday are getting into korean entertainment and having their perceptions changed. Racism is deep rooted in the society sadly however we need to start somewhere right? And BTS is surely paving the way for the same. Mark my words few years down the line the world would understand how revolutionizing these boys are not just in the field of music but in uprooting the conventional notions of racism, prejudice & beauty.
I would also say thats why BTS is looked down on and even seen as a threat by most cis het men. We constantly hear “they looks like girls! They are gay! (As if gay is an insult) and that they dont have facial hair or beards, why are they wearing makeup and all that stuff. Very rooted in toxic masculinity and homophobia. So im glad theres a small shift in thoughts atleast among a few ppl abt how masculinity need not be defined as the non emotionless rough and raggard and oppressive. BTS rise in the global industry not only is a phenomenon in the music history but also very significant in cultural and in the way we percieve what masculinity has been stereotypically for decades. Im also glad that BTS when asked abt this never claimed to take the spotlight as “removing toxic masculinity” they said such labels are unnecessary and IF theres a positive change they are bringing, theyre happy about it
I have always found Asian people, both male and female, so very beautiful/attractive. However, I completely agree with you about how Asians have been portrayed in the US media/entertainment industry. Also, yes, I am BTS army for so many reasons....but they have definitely brought ASIAN-SEXY BACK! Now everyone gets it! There is no denying that kind of appeal. I love them so hard.
@@sandranguyen5091 For me, anyway, growing up as an Asian American female, my understanding of Asian men = my dad/uncles/older cousins being very patriarchal, + Asian American guys my age reminding me of people I'm related to, + Asian mothers-in-law making life difficult for the Asian/ Asian American women I knew who'd married Asian /Asian American men. It wasn't until much later that this idea of patriarchy and all that shifted for me, and BTS was definitely a big part of that. (I still push back against older Asian men trying to tell me what to do, though- some habits I can't shake)
@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024 I do agree, it is embarrassing. However, what I saw on media plus the Asian and Asian Americans I interacted with really shaped my mindset when I was younger.
I'm a 27 year old black girl that grew up listening to kpop in the 90s (because of my older brother) and watching asian dramas and of course martial arts movies.i never understood the idea that asian men "weren't attractive"....it was always so weird that people didn't like asians cause My first celebrity crush was paolo montalban (the prince from the brandy cinderella movie). I was crazy about many asians movie stars from the 70's,80s & 90s like the obvious.bruce lee and jet li (I still remember hearing about the outrage that people had with jet li and aaliyah playing love interests in "romeo must die" it was so bad that they ended up the kids they were supposed to have at the end of the movie) smh
Permission to rant? 🙂 I've always thought Asian guys were cute. Although I didn't care for the movie Crazy Rich Asians - those old ladies were so mean! - I absolutely adored how Henry Golding and his friends were offered up as eye candy all through it. I was thinking, "About time." Also, I used to watch Glee, and it annoyed me how on a show where everyone dated everyone else, Mike - easily the best dancer of the guys - was a neutered eunoch. He was there to dance, period. He didn't get paired off until the final season, and then it was with the Asian girl, Tina. How very 1950s of them. And he had only one dramatic storyline on a single episode in six years; guess what it was? He wanted to be a dancer, but his parents wanted him to go to medical school. 🤨 Now that's innovative, outside-the-box thinking, isn't it?
I have been ARMY since 2016. I am a 44yr old mother and wife in the USA. It has been an honor to stan them and witness their rise. They are good looking, Intelligent, and extremely talented young men. They are a great example for the youth today, all over the world. I am so excited to see the day that they get their Grammy and are recognized for all of the good that they do for this world. It would be a very sad time without BTS. 🤗💜🇺🇲
Great done! Greetings from Tricity in Poland! BTS changed world in the way a lot od Asians (with Koreans) even can not imagine... :-) i love them so much!
My first night in Krakow, I was wandering the old square and three Polish men wanted to assault me. I said "sorry, I don't understand" and (uncomfortably) smiled and backed away, and they eventually left. Hours later, at a club, a Polish man also wanted to physically harm me. After having such a nice time in Prague before, I wondered why I left and couldn't wait to leave Poland. The next day, I spent the day at Auschwitz, then the next day, got on a train back to Prague. I was supposed to spend more time in Poland. Maybe things are better in Poland, now. Oh, and I don't tell you this looking for an apology. Just that I had a terrible experience in Poland, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I always loved asian countries and asian culture. I studied chinese from a gorgeous chinese women. I got to know so much about China and it's culture. I remember my friends were teasing me for learning chinese. And they were like oh so you want to marry chinese men.. and I didn't see any problem with that.. Then I met an indian guy and not gonna lie I had lots of stereotypes about India and people there but he broke my stereotypes. We started dating and still we going strong. Then I discovered BTS during DNA era and I fell in love with them. They have a big impact on me and the world. BTS really changed the world.
What kind of Chinese did you study Mandarin or traditional chinese? I'm Chinese and I always get stereotyped and i'm 11 and I already delt with racism. People think that we eat cats and dogs but I don't, people think i'm smart and yes I am. I got 15%, 30% and 40% of the students who passed Caribou contest when I was 8 years old, I got 1st place in my school this year for Caribou contest and 5th in my city. I think I should at least be in grade 8 because school has always been easy. i'm trilingual, I can speak Mandarin, english and French and not much Cantonese. Last year in my online class there were 2 schools in 1 class and one of the students was Chinese and he's not bad. Me and my twin sister are like the only Chinese girls and there are like 4 other filipino kids who are friends. I started to like BTS 2 months ago and I love Chinese dramas, I only watch the fantasy ones.
@@sevenlee3332 I'm sorry that you needed to deal with racism. I studied Mandarin. My teacher said that people in China do eat cats and dogs, but that it is changing. I can see you are very smart girl and I wish you to achieve huge things in your life.
They appeal to a wide demographic. Old, young, male, female, and LGBTQ. They break down cultural and racial barriers because they are true to themselves. They care about their global impact and the diversity of Army. They support worthy causes. We can see their hard work, their sincerity, the way the care for each other, respect each other, their crew and their Army. They all completed school while putting 100% into their performances. Each one pulled their own weight so the team would succeed. It is also refreshing to listen to music with meaning, music that makes you think, music that's fairly clean, upbeat and puts you in a good mood. Being able to view them on Vlive and Soop and see who they really are, their ups, downs and goofy moments are golden to Army. Each member is unique in their personality and looks, but all are incredibly attractive. They constantly express their gratitude to Army and we will forever support them. They are true entertainers. They deserve all the awards, accolades, attention and every penny they've earned 👏 🙌 👌 👍 😀 ❤
They still haven’t really broken racial barriers except with a few because of their anti-black past, that’s at least with black folks. I don’t know about the other races besides black and white.
@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024 Was it them or their handlers? These guys were so young when they started I can't help but think they were influenced by them. Their style is rooted in hip hop, pop, rap and R&B. I even see some African influences in their routines. They seem to have a healthy respect for black culture. They support BLM because they also know what its like to be discriminated against for the way they look and their culture. I've seen videos of them interacting and hanging out with blacks. As long as they're learning and growing on their anti racist journey I'll support them.
@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024 they have borken the racial barriers for many races actually. A large part of their fanbase consists of people of colour from various countries and ethnicities.
Previously when I think of sexy, western standards always come into mind. But now, when asked what is sexy, I’ll always think of BTS and Jimin in particular 😍
I can relate to your message. Racism is something taught. Nobody is born a racist. You are the product of your environment. Only you can make the decision on how you want to live your life. I thank you for this nice video & know this: your informative message was spoken with clear, concise grammar that made sense. I also think you're very handsome. Stay positive & safe😷👍👍
I thought Chow Yun-Fat in Croching Tigar Hidden dragon, was a beautiful man and the Korean dramas I've watched have some really beautiful, talented actors.
Just with east asians. Color still plays a role and BTS are really attractive guys with features that are generally accepted worldwide as hot or attractive. I think the better view is sewing how BTS smashed gender norms but still looked attractive. Wearing make up, accessories and flamboyant outfits that people associate with women or gays. There are still people who think this way, but at least, it is now in the mainstream that wearing skirts and makeup can still appear manly and desireable. I mean Jin wore a caterpillar-ish LV padded coat and still looked sexy without even trying. The ad doesnt sit well tho. I liked the discussion then the placement of the app felt like sexualizing our race? And just coz bts is hot, you can get someone that looks like them (like saying asians look similar). As if I like Chaning Tatum so i'll look for caucasian men now. But the setting of income level sounds really asian to me, lol. But sponsors do get the cash in so who am i to judge right?
I think this sexy asian thing only applies to east asians ,other asians are forgotten and ignored because of how big east asian is . Here in my country i notice a lot of people mostly boys are dressing like east asians do and well i sometimes thought they are from the east . Even girls tho the make up is also influenced . Not complaining tho i love how natural the makeup is 😊.
I've always like Asian ppl be guys or girls... They have a mysterious ways that you never seen In America... Their Arts their culture fascinated me from day one... 🌿🌹🌿
I think I want equal representation for the incredibly hot & handsome Kim Namjoon, Jung Hoseok, & Min Yoongi! Talk about insensitive!! But otherwise WBK!! WE BEEN KNEW. BTS has changed the Asian men stereotypes completely. Many Asian men still don’t want to give up their “white boy bro card” and openly suupport them tho.

It's ridiculous how westerners have historically feminized Asian men, and now (due to envy imo) they are trying to further feminize Asian men by critiquing make up and colored hair COMPLETELY skipping over white and black western pop and rock entertainers have accentuated their feminine sides and have worn make up too. 80s electro funk, synth pop, Glam Rock to name a few have glamorized androgyny and make up. It's wild how since Asian male entertainers are getting some shine some westerners are in their fee fees. Oh well.
Nah asians were always my type, even before I knew what kpop is. Akira Kurosawa films really opened my perspective that asian men can indeed be masculine and hot, Toshiro Mifune and Donnie Yen❤
Even asian actors have talked about the impact of bts, and aah how could we forget oli london, jimin impacted his life too much. (But like why is there some men trigger by the video, if you don’t like them don’t watch it.💀)
I realized that my love for East Asian guys was lessened by my thoughts of the fact I was taller than average (5’7” and muscular build with a natural d-cup…US football star [College full ride] and his pic of ladies…large “breakfast” lol) But the best moment of my life was an experience in the US Army….we were on a subway visit to a theme park in South Korea. We had the Korean nationals, who spoke English, attached to our unit. So, here I am, a solid muscular beast as a female…and we went came to a stop…I suddenly felt: one the another hand on my rear end, to politely move me aside so a older man could exit the train. The Korean soldier who was with us was MORTIFIED…(to a point I felt bad, like I was in the way of the elder…) he nervously said to my fellow soldiers “he wanted to feel that before he died”…that all laughed (me too) then a woman, translated that in Korean to those who didn’t know English….and the whole front of the train all laughed, to include ME! As a American, how respectful and courteous that experience was back then! 🤗 Weird, but random, as someone who has been attractive since the age of 15, and never felt so protected and yet HONORED as a woman…love the standards the Korean men had for access to their life/culture…they taught me what it means to PROTECT your life/love/beauty of your culture….
Oh, man, those cringey clips are just AWFUL! So F’d up people thought that shit was funny. (Reminds me of the commercials on Indian TV that turn Sikh men into ridiculous characateurs-so gross🤮) As for me, I grew up on Hong Kong action films-and hot is hot in ANY nationality! (BTS are on a whole other level of otherworldly perfection, so that’s a new kind of fun torture for us😭🤣💜)
I grew up in the eighties and the only Asian actors I saw was on Magnum PI, Kung Fu movies, Star Trek, and David Carradine's TV show. I think it was Kung Fu. Anyways, yes, BTS has changed the perception of Asian men. Like the one lady stated, I, too am made fun of because I listen to BTS, TXT and ENHYPEN. My whole family doesn't understand it. I discovered BTS during the Boy With Luv promotion. It's sad that it's taken this long for people to come around. I feel that there still is a long way to go; particularly with award shows. K-pop is here to stay. I, personally, don't think there should be a label in front of pop. Because great music is great music no matter where it comes from.✌️💜🕊️💜🕊️💜🕊️💜🕊️💜🕊️💜🕊️💜🕊️
I agree about some of this but you used "stereotypes" from older films that are white-washed stereotypes from the 1960's and 1980's. I do agree that BTS & KPop/Asian pop in general has made an impact and that Idols are seen in a more sexy light now.
It's not just BTS but BTS is one of the biggest parts to this equation. Yes! BTS has made ASIANS HOT! The visibility of BTS has shown that BTS is leading the way not only in music but in fashion, Asian food & culture. Their Asian faces are representing major world brands that used to be only reserved for white celebrities or black Athletes. Only a few years ago BTS was on SNL. Several Asians said they cried because they had not seen many ASIANS be headliners or be represented on such a huge tv show. In 2016 there was an internet poll that asked you to rank who you think the sexiest race is? Asians came in LAST. Over the last few years there was a sound on TikTok that asked; What race wouldn't you date? The over whelming response was; Asians. Over the last year though, I have heard the question asked on Tik Tok again: What race wouldn't your date and the answer has changed. That means people are moving off the negative stereotypes about Asians. The other thing I have notice is more Asian representation. Asians are now being cast as leads in movies. For example: Shang-Chi. The legend of the 10 Rings. Squid Games etc. BTS still has to fight. Their ARMY still have to support them to the fullest because, there many who would like to see BTS fail. Also; They probably still won't win a Grammy because Grammy is way behind the curve. I think many Grammy voters still see them as a novelty act, that will go away if they ignore them.

BTS MUsic is very differnt from every other KPOP group as a matter of fact, They have broken the 7 Year Curse. By now every other Groups Disbands after 7 years BTS is at there PEAK AND HAS BROKEN THE 7 YEAR CURSE
It's weird but I get it. BTW I'd say Kpop in general and K-culture. Not just BTS. See my ideal type used to be white women. White girls. I used to not be attracted to Asian girls. But once I started getting into Kpop, I started seeing the beauty of the men and women of my own race. Asian men and Asian women are GORGEOUS. We have nothing to envy rather we should be envied OF that's the mentality. My type used to be Alexandra Daddario, Chloe Moretz, Olivia Holt etc but now it's Lisa, Ningning, Winter etc 😂 and its not only a specifically thing I've really started to appreciate Asian features more that I once wanted to change in the past. (I grew up in a very Westernised area)
In european countries, the korean wave came around 2011 2012, many teenagers discovered kpop groups. Im southeast asian living in France, Im not a kpop fan but I agree that this is good for the representation of asians culture, korean culture specially. East asians countries always exported very well their culture everywhere.

Sorry, now I see... it is a Japanese (?) boy band. Personally, I think any guy that ever wears feminine style eye makeup is going to come across maybe confidently, but unmasculine. I really do think pure hearted confidence and assertiveness is attractive to women, but not in a feminine way.... These guys (forgive me) to me look gay. It is politically correct to say that it is okay for guys to wear heavy eye makeup, but when you look confidently flaming... you are just really inviting women to be friends with you. They will say you are fun and emotional, but most will not be attracted to you. With this boy band (and let's face it... that is what this band is!), I think the girls and women love them for other reasons than their makeup and they love them DESPITE the makeup. I don't think the makeup is something that most of them like at all. Also, I think that a group like this is one that almost any straight guy would never go see live, unless he had a girl with them that was into BTS... (I almost typed BLT.... LOL) I am not saying the guys in BTS are gay or that I hate gays. I don't. I am just saying that I think the gay look they have is not some sort of secret new turn-on for women. :) Anyone agree? Doug McComb, producer of the RUclips channel Horror Kung Fu Theatre. 👍
Whitness and racism first appeared historically in the 1400's in Europe to flimsily "justify" slavery and other horrors against humanity. It remains as a vestigial cancer to keep us opressed and divided. This goes back way longer than the 60's

I started with Bruce Lee too in my childhood 😂🔥
@@KpopGrandma the way BTS never really put themselves out to break these visual stereotypes in the first place (because sadly, they too faced some nasty comments and criticism because of internalized beauty standards among East Asian or Asian in general),
and now they're being hailed as one of the hammers hitting the wall just really speaks volumes about how eventually, just them communicating beautiful messages, being themselves, comfortable, and just vulnerable enough, are already enough to captivate us.
I became proud to be asian because of bts

They stayed true to who they are since the beginning while evolving over the years and becoming a better version of themselves over the years. I think that really resonated with so many people. Plus they give us works of art.
Yes. BTS definitely changed the general view of Asian males to looking super hot now. 🥵
Yes, BTS has changed the way people perceive Asians!💜💜💜💜
I thought an Indian minority lived in the UK?
Wow BTS really changed literally everything lol
Im also glad that BTS when asked abt this never claimed to take the spotlight as “removing toxic masculinity” they said such labels are unnecessary and IF theres a positive change they are bringing, theyre happy about it
Cist! HaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! You mean Normal!!!!!
Most cis hetero men? Many I'm sure, but I think there's a lot more love for BTS than hate
BTS PAVED THE WAY FOR ASIAN MEN AROUND THE WORLD. thank you guys 😭
East Asian *
I have always found Asian people, both male and female, so very beautiful/attractive. However, I completely agree with you about how Asians have been portrayed in the US media/entertainment industry. Also, yes, I am BTS army for so many reasons....but they have definitely brought ASIAN-SEXY BACK! Now everyone gets it! There is no denying that kind of appeal. I love them so hard.
Accepting society is what we need, a long way to pave though.
Jung Ji-Hoon aka Rain is hot AF on Ninja Assassin. I watched multiple times the part where he’s training alone in his apartment with them chains.😛
Agree Rain is super sexy.
I totally agree. Before learning about BTS, as an Asian American, I did not find Asian men attractive, but now I do. :)
100% same. And then I think about all those wasted years when I was blind to the beauty in my own culture.
?????
Embarrassing. 💀
Asians are too diverse to be grouped under this term.
When most people say Asian, they mean Japanese Chinese, or Korean.
Yeah they mean the people with black hair dark brown eyes and yellow/white skin.
And not the south Asians/Indians or arabs
@@youreboichips3872 Dont think it matter, they hate arab and indian the same way they hate east asian.
I was thinking, "About time."
Also, I used to watch Glee, and it annoyed me how on a show where everyone dated everyone else, Mike - easily the best dancer of the guys - was a neutered eunoch.
While it's great that BTS changed perceptions, this only really applies to East, and some SE, Asians - I think it's important to clarify that

I love BTS for more then five years now! But I know and met so many beautiful handsome great looking Asian man before BTS. So you know what I mean.

It's ridiculous how westerners have historically feminized Asian men, and now (due to envy imo) they are trying to further feminize Asian men by critiquing make up and colored hair COMPLETELY skipping over white and black western pop and rock entertainers have accentuated their feminine sides and have worn make up too.
80s electro funk, synth pop, Glam Rock to name a few have glamorized androgyny and make up. It's wild how since Asian male entertainers are getting some shine some westerners are in their fee fees. Oh well.

Weird, but random, as someone who has been attractive since the age of 15, and never felt so protected and yet HONORED as a woman…love the standards the Korean men had for access to their life/culture…they taught me what it means to PROTECT your life/love/beauty of your culture….

@@horrorkungfutheatre0 You’re very very very very wrong. As a straight woman I wholeheartedly disagree.
all true !!
is this whole thing an ad? dude, not cool.
Youre right, my family doesn’t deserve to be fed
@@RiceSquadThat's a massive overreaction, are you ok?
@@NucaARMY are you?
Can you talk about Kaitou Joker?
Who is he?
Eme hive has a paywall to message fyi
They did for me
I feel sorry for the "Before" guy (What should I call him?)
"Hundreds of hundreds of years of civil rights"... Do you realize that Civil Rights are a concept which is barely 60 years old?
Yeah before 60 years ago, nobody had rights
Whitness and racism first appeared historically in the 1400's in Europe to flimsily "justify" slavery and other horrors against humanity. It remains as a vestigial cancer to keep us opressed and divided. This goes back way longer than the 60's
Listen.. speaking as a western female myself, if ur hot, ur hot, no matter ur race. I'm not saying stereotypes don't exist bc they certainly do, but u can't tell me Bruce Lee was considered as a puny asian lol. Every race has those nerdy types along with the hot ones, bts is just caught in the spotlight and has the resources (makeup, hair dressers, clothing etc) to stand out🤷♀️
this is where the legend twomad grinded his social credits by dressing up in traditional clothes
I am a Melanin American and I always thought Asian men were sexy. I am a huge K-drama fan since 2014. I was introduced to BTS in 2019. They have been instrumental in showing what Korean culture is about. My recent ex-fiance is Korean. I would definitely date another Asian man. I may not get to in this lifetime but I sure hope I do in the next!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Same, I'm a 27 year old black girl that grew up listening to kpop in the 90s (because of my older brother) and watching asian dramas and of course martial arts movies. My first celebrity crush was paolo montalban (the prince from the brandy cinderella movie).
@@flovonnejohnson707 Oh WOW!!! It's good to know ow I'm not alone!!!💜
Wow Melanin American sounds so majestic 🥰🥰
@@karenkayyen3361 I'm one of those people who refuse to be boxed with a label. Since the people are categorized by race, being born here in the USA, being born American is not enough. What label do I find acceptable? Being a female might be the only one but should it matter? I am a Homo Sapien who loves her Melinated composition!💜💜💜
There is not next time lol. You just go straight to heaven after u die. By then, all races are considered brothers and sisters, you wont feel any attractive, because gender do not exist in heaven.
