    "...Much easier to remove material than it is to put it back on" - so true. The phrase I was taught is "Better to be looking _at_ it, than looking _for_ it." Nice bit of work - you've earned a sub. :-)

      Thanks buddy appreciate the Sub, and yes I much prefer to creep up on my measurements :)

    Really eager to see this finished and in the car! I have been wanting to do something like this for quite some time but never pulled the trigger on the project.

      Thanks Man, appreciate the kind comments. Like your self I have been looking our for a project that would suite this and now I have one in the shop I couldn't resist making a video of it. Let me know if you need any more detail 👍

    Excellent video, really enjoyed it. Can you try and think to leave the doggy outside when you're welding just on case it effects his eyes. I will be busy looking through your other videos, cheers, Dave.

      Aww thanks David, also thanks for the concern for Buddy. He is normally not allowed in the Worksop when welding but it was -3 out side and him being a rescue I let him in 😆 hope you enjoy the rest of our channel 👍

    excellent video,will be doing this to my fiancees track car very soon..im presuming the joint infront of the gear lever would also have another under the car to allow the correct angle into the rod change,,

      Ya thats exactly it two U-Joints one in front of the gear leaver box and one as you say on the input to the gear box

    Hi Paul, what are the characteristics of bronze that made you choose it for the bushing? Is it hard wearing, or easy to machine, or does it hold oil (like phosphor bronze)? Or.... cheers, Will

    • @HREIRL
      @HREIRL  3 года назад

      Hi Will, its a combination, it has a very free running slick feel, it machines really nice and has a very slow wear rate. you could
      an oil lite bushing as well but a little grease and a good finish and this gear change housing will last for years 👍👍

    Fantastic engineering, my race 850 circa 1960 didn't have a remote change, no mini did back then. Times change and move on!

    Can I please buy a pair of bronze bushings like the ones you made in this video?

    • @HREIRL
      @HREIRL  2 года назад

      We can make you a set Rado but we would need your gear selector housing to make them as they are custom fitted to the housing
