Rochester's Christmas Dickensian Parade

Every year, the Medway town of Rochester holds a parade honouring the works of the celebrated author, Charles Dickens. Locals and visitors to the town dress up in Victorian clothing and characters from the novels of Dickens including Fagin, the Ghost of Jacob Marley, Miss Havisham, Oliver Twist and more.
Throughout the day, singing, live music, and street performances take place and locally produced food is cooked outside restaurants for passersby. The smell of mulled wine fills the air down the High Street and wafts around the Christmas Market on the grounds of the Castle.
