A seasoned framer knows 14 1/2” when he sees it. Some of y’all think he’s putting on but he ain’t. 14 1/2” is the inside dimension on lumber ran on 16” centers. I know dang well I wouldn’t bet against him.

I"ve only been fishing for crappie for a relatively short time; five years or so. I'm 65 now, so I have a lot of catching up to do. Richard, you are a big part of the reason why I'm beginning to get consistent results from a day on the water. I've learned how to rig my setups and how to go after the fish and how to adjust when the fish are "not biting." I went out yesterday for a couple of hours and brought home enough crappie for a good fry. Not bad for December in Iowa!

That was very informative and fun to watch. I'm a catfish guy and have been having trouble catching my perch lately, I think I'm going to try your technique and see if catfish like the crappie.

Gave me hope for this weekend! The water in Strom Thurmond Lake is WAY DOWN.
Wish we had a food base to grow crappie like that. Not many grow to that size. We like our plastics but i have found gulp minnows and a 1/64 oz jig under a float brought in slow work best.
