To add: Since these are vintage, you have to follow the tips and tricks since it's not as straightforward as buying new watches. When buying vintage, make sure to zoom in on the pictures to check for damages, stains, rust. Also, read the listing details, make sure it's listed as running because a lot of the dirt-cheap stuff on ebay is actually sold for spares/repair.
About a year late to the comment section, but I've just bought a vintage Credor. I was dumbfounded when I found out you can find them for around 200$! Will be reviewing it soon on my channel! Thanks for the sharing this. More people need to know about this before these become impossible to find! Already quite difficult as it is😅
Three years later (and a little increase of those prices), that video still pretty accurate and might help me to get a Seiko Credor or Dolce. Thank you and well done 😉
Another great video covering a niche largely ignored by the bigger watch channels. I agree that Credor bargains are to be had - 30-34mm slim men's quartz dress watches just aren't in fashion which is a boon for people like me who like them. Examples from other brands that I reckon represent great value are quartz Omega Genève and De Ville, especially in 18k gold, and 9k gold watches presented to employees for 25 years of service in the UK. Plenty of mechanical examples of those with nice movements from ETA and Peseux. Some people hate the inscriptions engraved on the case backs but I love them - the transport me back to the time when the watch was made, when employers were paternalistic and people had jobs for life. All adds to the authentic vintage vibe for me at any rate.
@@AliasEveWatches I was surprised that some of the Omegas are still relatively affordable. Picked up an 18k solid gold quartz De Ville for $450 last week. The 9k presentation watches with mechanical movements were often made by jewelers like Garrard and brands like Rotary and can be had for $300-400. All UK prices including 20% sales tax so possibly even less in the US.
Woah I was just looking at some vintage Credor watches online yesterday! Too cool this video dropped today, very informative Eve! Well done and they are definitely on my radar! 😎🍻👍
I never thought of looking at vintage Credor! Thank you so much!. I found one I really like. Now I just need to pull the trigger. I almost always hesitate. Sometime it's good to think about it. Sometimes not. We’ll see on this one. Again Thank you for making this video. Much appreciated!.
I’ve been looking on eBay for Credors over the last day or so. One thing I found interesting is how often they do not include the size. Or in one case, a very misleading measurement. (One listing gave the case size as 36mm. However, when I read more carefully it was 36mm from corner to corner. I asked and was told it was 32mm wide without the crown.) Just further proof you need to be careful. Thanks again! It’s been fun searching and learning about these gems!
Not me randomly finding your video while looking for Credor and falling in love with those vintage ones and 'accidently' ending up buying 3 Credor (9571-6000, 2F70-0490 and 8J81-6B00) in excellent condition, no visible scratch, for less than $500 (living in Japan has its percs for Japanese brands and people not really into this hobby here 😄). I totally blame you and not my compulsive buying 😛😁 They look tiny next to my other 39-41mm watches but they sure know how to catch the eye and I don't mind the 32-33mm too much as I have a small wrist. Thanks for the recommandation, it helped me go through the "yeah but it's a quartz movement" block I had (if only rechargeable batteries of that size existed that would be great).

You're right . Seiko Credor watches are dirt cheap right now , I bought them mostly for the solid gold bezel (either 14k or 18k). Citizen Exceed watches also were made from gold but those are very rare , I don't buy stainless steel watch btw
I have a collection I inherited from my grandfather and he was big into Japanese Quarz! So I have like 10 Seiko and 5 citizen and a few Casio vintage quartz. So it only makes sense for me to get a credor
But make sure you don't buy for the sake of just buying to fill a spot, make sure you're buying to use. It's not good to haphazardly buy things we don't need during these economic times. 😅
FYI Luckily I looked a little more closely at th Credor. It was the one for $750 on Ebay. Ther dial has water stains near the 3 position. Not what I was looking for. But again, Thanks for the info.
I'm glad you looked a little closer. While the Japanese generally have a reputation for keeping their items in good condition, you really need to zoom in for details especially when buying vintage.
Great video, Eve, thank you 👍🙂 I have a Seiko Lassale, which I SUSPECT has a Credor quartz movement in it. It's not particularly to my taste, but I inherited it from a loved one, and reminds me of them fondly.
Thanks for watching! 😄 I hope the Seiko Lassale will hold a special place in your collection, even if it's not to your taste. Perhaps a strap swap might change your mind?

@@AliasEveWatches So, the watch arrived. It has a simple gilt case and indexes, the dial is more of a cream with gold shimmer. All in all it looks simple and elegant but nothing exotic about it. The case is clean enough (idk the age of the watch) and it has a couple of tiny scratches on the crystal which leads me to believe that it's not sapphire , duh😁.
