I can do basic openings and accomplish all the standard positions as you describe, it is the middle game where I have my biggest issues. Perhaps take us through middle game stragegy. Thank you! You have a very clear way of explaining.

Please help me with the Sicilian. I think I know the book to about 6-7 moves in, but I'm too slow in making threats to my opponent and I'm always getting pressured on the kingside.
The infinite variations of chess make it fiendishly difficult to master. Keep playing and learning and remember it's great for your brain even when you lose. Mental exercise produces mental strength. Never be discouraged by defeats.
That's so cool to hear! I only currently coach chess through these videos, it's a great way I think to help a lot of people get to understand some of the nuances of this beautiful game at the same. Like MMA, there are lots of common patterns that occur in chess games and so I try to demystifying chess and make it a bit more accessible for everyone through these vids :)
@@chess_explained_ Chess is 10,000x harder than MMA (for me). I know because I used to teach hand-to-hand combat to special ops military and many went on to MMA after surviving the Gulf Wars of the 1980s and 1990s. That was, of course, before they started calling it MMA.
These work exclusively for ELO range 0-1300 :) joking, in all seriousness, keep at it, I would say stick to the London system as White, you cannot go wrong
Brilliant, Filip.
Your lessons are incredible.
Thank you so much!

Whatever is Gary Kasparov's favourite opening, ideally one with an early mid-game sacrifice!
Interesting!

The French is just a worse Caro Kann. E6 and c6 both have the idea of supporting d4, but c6 does not block in the light squared bishop.
Great video and well explained. Am on a losing streak atm down to 320. Will watch this again then try and put into practice 👍
You got this! :)

@Fitness4London This is a gem of an advice.
Isn't it bad to move pawns in front of one's castled king, please?
Thanks man! Enjoyed this after an evening of MMA!
In all fairness, I enjoy a lot of your videos.... Do you coach chess?

Great video, but I didn't understand how the pawn can go f5 in the king's indian defense. There is a knight on the way.
The Knight on f6 typically drops down to e8 and then the Pawn is pushed f7-f5 :)
What if you're rated under 75?

I did good with the London system as white, till I got to 1300. Now my computer destroys me 9 times out of 10. 😩
