have you ever seen so many people in a complete trance... thats what it did to me the first time i jammed this on the speakers, i was completely lost from the world, and i played it over and over, brilliant shit
The first two verses you can’t help but admire Justin for being humble, “so now weve come upon the hardest thing ive done is telling you that im a mess” The final verse Justin speaks to us in a different way. His message is a self-critical, self-deprecating one where he can’t forgive himself and punishes himself by publicly & sarcastically mocks himself “stand by for another breakdown, Here he is, the Chameleon Boy” The song leaves you feeling very sympathetic
Thank you. It's exactly the same with me. Since I've heard this song, when my mood changes as abrupt and harsh as it can, I'm calling it "changing colors".
My daughters and I met him at Toads Place in New Haven he was amazing to all the fans. I love that I can play this music and my kids love it too maybe for different reasons but it's great!!!!!
oh my gosh. that last bit of the song. The bit that's not on the cd...that is what amazing is. "I think i'm strong enough, I KNOW I'm strong enough to change. Watch my color change" This is why Blue October is better than any other band out there. The full ability to connect with their audience. I love this song. I love this band. and Justin is my hero.
Justin is the strongest person ever. Now he is “moving on” and he has found the strength to change his life. I admire Justin. All his difficult ways in life.
Ive met Justin several times, and he is every bit as nice. I use to work for a major airline and he came through alot...non of my coworkers recognized him but I did, and i have seen Blue october 17x and would see them again....they are great and Jusin is a genuine guy.
After seeing them 4 or 5 times, I *finally* got to hear them play this song last time they were in Denver. So, so incredible. I can't wait to see them again next month! I'd follow them on tour to every show if I could. I'd have to get a chance to meet Justin eventually that way, right? lol. For someone who as as many problems as he has had, he is definitely one of my personal heroes and has influenced my life in ways no one else has.
I am also a chameleon boy. What's insane is I can see when it's happening. I can feel it happening and yet I can never stop it from happening. Its like I'm just a part of the audience but cant change the outcome of the play. Just sit back and watch the self destruction happen but then after its over I have to again be the one to pick up the pieces and try glueing them back together.
This song is freaking epic. I really don't connect this at all to anyone passed away, for me it's completely personal, and it definitely hits the most personal shit that any other song seems to speak of. Oh and this performance is remarkable. The part where he sings "so now we come upon, the hardest thing I'd ever done; is telling you that I'm a mess" gives me chills every time, because you can hear and feel his emotioin when he's saying that, he expresses the most honesty i've ever seen.
@SoldierSide77 yea well that makes 3 of us you me and him.... ive been in too many institutes to count and have a few of the medical problems he has./.. he is my personal hero for sure mate

I don't understand why this band is not more well known. Songs like this are just amazing.
13 years later and i still listen to this song and i have a deep connection to this song because ive lost family and friends to drugs or paranoia
Blue October's deepest song, imo. Brings me to tears every time.
all their songs are touching my soul, this is the best band ever....
A voz desse cara é muito bonita e diferenciada... curto demais Blue October
It'd be a good choice. Saw them a few years back, quite possibly the best show i've ever seen. Hoping to go see them again here in a couple of weeks.
Almost makes me cry every time I hear it...beautiful song...
