Ed's a smart guy. Builds an app to list all LP-640's in existence, buys a few of them, creates a youtube channel to make them popular and generate high demand, and then also bids on them whenever they come up for sale to be sure the prices remain high. Buys a few here and there and makes money on them so he can make more money telling us the story about it. Honestly, good work.
Car Trek suggestion for ya. Each one of you put in 25k and agree on ONE car to buy collectively. Show the entire shopping experience, the arguments and final purchase. Then go on a road trip to show the strengths and weaknesses of the vehicle. Bonus points if you can end at a small regional auto auction and liquidate it by the end of the series!

That yellow Scud is simply gorgeous! That is what I was looking at for my first Ferrari before prices skyrocketed on them. That said I couldn't be happier with my yellow 458 (which I will have on display at Quail next week). Congrats on the Monterey Blue Murci! I know James was wanting it as well per his video. I wish i knew where my past cars have gone, likely scrapped by now as they weren't rare or valuable in any sense but I laboured over and loved them and still feel a connection to them. Hopefully i see them again being enjoyed as I did. Congrats on the bidding win! Beautiful LP640
Hong Kong is really tricky place for exotic cars
There are collectors who know what are they buying (could be VINwiki viewers who never comments), and there are dealer who export exotics to China or nearby countries; in fact some Chinese riches kept their car in Hong Kong.
So the Manual Murci SV is just an end of this chapter, and the next chapter on Ed’s hunt may start anytime soon…

Congrats on the LP640! Funny thing, Randy got offered the car for $359,000 back early March of 2020. Right before the Pandemic. He wanted to "negotiate it a bit lower" at the time. Glad it's in your hands, can't wait to get my hands on another murci! Safe travels!
That would have been speculating on the future market. Perhaps he was wise to not go over his head for the car at the time.

there’s a white murci sv based out of melbourne australia, haven’t seen it close up but it flew past me a few months ago and the way it was being driven certainly sounded like a manual car. was definitely modified with some sort of exhaust.

I know one person who owns a LP670 SV and I’m sure he won’t sell it. It’s left hand drive too. I assume he still has it as it doesn’t appear to have been sold. I’ve searched the uk plate and there are tons of sightings - be interesting if that ever comes on the market. Plus I’m pretty sure the owner has not long ago purchased an Aventador with a very similar plate. The Murcielago is on a ton of RUclips videos including an early Shmee150 one. Gloss black and looking awesome.

Ed, do you know for sure that vehicle 339 (build # 3831) is not a manual? I saw the vehicle years back and in my memories it was a manual. There is a video of it here on youtube I could send if you think it may be possible. you cannot see the interior/shifter in the video but it sure sounds like a manual. thanks.

You know I gott alove myself sometimes, I stopped the video right before you said I bought it figuring ah he didnt buy it and then came back lol also might I make a suggestion, try and find the original phone dial wheels they had on the very early ones or have them remade and put them on the blue car, as I've never seen a Murcie with those, and if I May be so bold, the black doesnt suit it
the wheels are the wrong size and it looks like a kitcar, like Tyler had this with his tetarossa, so much so I thought he bought the rebodied stuntcar from miami vice and not the geniune article
that and the thing was due for a service and exhaust change, its how you get the power out of those, as if he had just learned what makes a good one and a bad one, and got to matt farah's mechanic and gotten it sorted,
he would have really loved that thing for what it was, as they always screw up and put the wrong gear oil in that's too thin for it and makes it crunchy.
that and those rims were god awful and they have centerlocks with the more common rim size avalable if you know where to look, and most came with the optional larger front tires which screws up the handling at low speed
as like anything else, theirs a reason why it was made the way it was,
