    First of all, very informative video gallery... I've made a full fledge printer watching these videos...
    I only have two observations.
    In each video, you are always talking about how to download and setup Marlin. Shouldn't you be using an existing installation? trying top to explain how to modify an existing setup? I mean, how practical is it that someone buys a brand new SKR pro and the first thing they want to hook up are the fans!? Myself, I have now set up X, X2, Y, Z, motors, the end stops bed size, Temperatures, Heat bed, and also done the motor, extruder and heater calibrations. I've even done a test build with the fans powered directly from the supply. Now I'm looking to automate the fans that brought me to this video of yours.
    And you do this in every video! I'm at 5:49 in your video and you are still installing Marlin. So, practically, I skip the first 5 minutes of your videos without watching...
    Secondly, I always have to play them at 1.5x or 2x the speed... You don't have to speak like you are giving a one-time only press briefing. Its youtube. It has subtitles ad people can always pause and rewind if they don't understand anything. Even after watching it at this pace, we do have to watch it multiple times because there is too much information and we miss something almost every time.

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  3 года назад

      The reason I speak about the same thing in every video is not everyone watches every video.
      Also in order to have a mostly clean CC I need to talk slow or boot screen turns into blue screen.

      @@EdwardBraiman Hi ed.
      First of all, I want to apologize for the above comment. I was out of my mind, angry at myself for bricking my brand new TFT24 with a stupid mistake (Plugged in BLTouch, thinking that if 5V is in the same place, everything else would be too).
      Your videos are wonderful! In fact, I selected BTT SKR Pro 1.2 for our BigFDM (Inspired from github.com/fab-machines/BigFDM) after watching your videos. Last night, we did the first successful build. Here are the features we are going to implement:
      350x300x280 build size,
      300x300 hot surface
      2nd Extruder on X2
      BLTouch
      ESP01
      Flexible build plate
      Can you do one video on the 2nd Extruder (E1) on X2? We have already configured E0 and E1. I can heat it up and extrude too. But the motor doesn't move yet. We would like to do, Multicolor builds, Copy builds using 2 extruders, multiple parts at the same time using the two extruders.

    nice tutorials definitely will come in handy couse planing to build printer wit either skr pro or gtr which is in my opinion better that duet as it has inter changeable motor drivers... non the less have question on power ports.... as i understand every power input line is electrically separated, so is it possible to run steppers and their drivers on 24vdc while board and fans powered by separated 12vdc power supply unit???? Idea is to run steppers and hot end on 24vdc , fans on 12vdc (as more options are available), and heatbed on 220vac.

    • @EdwardBraiman

    1. Write firmware.bin file to the SD card.
    2. Put in SD card in to the SKR PRO
    3. Press reset button on the board.
    4. Wait until led stop flashing.
    Thats all, your firmware updated.
    Switching power mode and plug in USB cable absolutely not affects firmware update. ;)

      What's occuring is on the root of the micro SD card when power is applied it points to the firmware.bin. after it's loaded it renames file to FIRMWARE.cur. I waterdown the tutorials.

      Hi, I just test with a multimeter to be sure. After few test, I found something strange, Fan0 can be set manually, Fan1 start automatically at 100% when I start to move any motor and stop after 3minutes. I'm searching if there is something similar for Fan2.

    • @BrianCYVOCT
      @BrianCYVOCT 4 года назад +2

      Hello,
      as you advised me I searched more and effectively there is a preconfiguration in configuration_adv.h for the fans.
      Here are the 2 sections :
      /**
      * Controller Fan
      * To cool down the stepper drivers and MOSFETs.
      *
      * The fan will turn on automatically whenever any stepper is enabled
      * and turn off after a set period after all steppers are turned off.
      */
      #define USE_CONTROLLER_FAN
      #if ENABLED(USE_CONTROLLER_FAN)
      #define CONTROLLER_FAN_PIN PE6 // Set a custom pin for the controller fan
      #define CONTROLLERFAN_SECS 60 // Duration in seconds for the fan to run after all motors are disabled
      #define CONTROLLERFAN_SPEED 255 // 255 == full speed
      //#define CONTROLLERFAN_SPEED_Z_ONLY 127 // Reduce noise on machines that keep Z enabled
      #endif
      **************************************************************************************************************************************
      /**
      * Extruder cooling fans
      *
      * Extruder auto fans automatically turn on when their extruders'
      * temperatures go above EXTRUDER_AUTO_FAN_TEMPERATURE.
      *
      * Your board's pins file specifies the recommended pins. Override those here
      * or set to -1 to disable completely.
      *
      * Multiple extruders can be assigned to the same pin in which case
      * the fan will turn on when any selected extruder is above the threshold.
      */
      #define E0_AUTO_FAN_PIN PE5
      #define E1_AUTO_FAN_PIN -1
      #define E2_AUTO_FAN_PIN -1
      #define E3_AUTO_FAN_PIN -1
      #define E4_AUTO_FAN_PIN -1
      #define E5_AUTO_FAN_PIN -1
      #define CHAMBER_AUTO_FAN_PIN -1
      #define EXTRUDER_AUTO_FAN_TEMPERATURE 50
      #define EXTRUDER_AUTO_FAN_SPEED 255 // 255 == full speed
      #define CHAMBER_AUTO_FAN_TEMPERATURE 30
      #define CHAMBER_AUTO_FAN_SPEED 255
      **************************************************************************************************************************************
      So I found a good solution, now with that settings my configuration is :
      Fan0 for the Nozzle (set manually or by the slicer)
      Fan1 for the extruder Heatsink (automatically start at 50° and stop below)
      Fan2 for the Drivers (automatically start when a driver is started and stop after 60sec after the last driver has worked)
      Thank's for your advices

    To a PWM controlled pin like here, or directly to the power supply so that the fan runs always when the printer is on?
