myself being a new 65 enjoyed the episode last night, i felt my generation amongst the women and it was great, i hope they continue having future golden bachelors, i also get tired of the young bachelors and bachelorettes as they are a bit different than my generation, i can't relate, so i love this so far, Gerry is sooo sweet!

So sad because his wife had passed shortly after she retired. Retired in May & passed mid July. They had just moved into their retirement home. I applaud him for properly grieving and waiting 5 years to move forward dating again. He honored his deceased wife.

Just finished watching the first episode and now i am hooked. Being 28 male. For some reason this is what i can relate to even though he is like 3x my age. Love it. (Side note) i never watch the younger age bachelor at all.

Gerry's answer about what makes Golden Bachelor different was on point. I was anticipating this season because the age of the contestants. They're not young anymore. So they will really focus on their compatibility in terms of soul, mind and their values.

I've never seen The Bachelor (nor most other reality shows), but Turner seems like such a nice, sensible, grounded guy (so unlike most people who go on these shows hoping to launch a TV career), I might just tune in.
P.S. If I didn't know he was 72, I'd have guessed he's in his fifties.
He is so wholesome and so nice, quite a departure from the usual young bachelor show, studies have shown that ttwatching it brings down to normal person's IQ four points, and more than that can cause brain damage! I haven't watched Bachelor since I was about 19, 35 now. I just didn't like the idea of one person with so many others at the same time. BUT, I would watch this because I think it would be much different with an older generation. Loved how talked about building emotional connection in the boom boom room, versus the physical/sexual.
My husband and I have had that conversation. That is true love. To want you to be happy after they are gone.

The bachelor series started back in the day more focused on actually finding a connection with less drama to contestants going on the show to promote themselves and directors playing us the drama. In this crazy work, it is great to see a more realist show about people actually trying to make a love connection with a more wholesome approach. I hope the production team realizes this as I have been completely turnout off by recent BIP series.

He didn't have to do this. I know tons of fantastic women who are beautiful and accomplished and educated and there are absolutely no decent men for them to date in their age group. If this doesn't work out, He can drive North a couple hours and I'll be his wing man! I'm actually just 3 years younger than him but usually date younger fellas cuz, well, pickens are slim for the older gals...
Anyway hope he meets the girl of his dreams, Who gives him happiness, joy and love and fits right into his family and he can fit right in her family!

I’m in my 50’s and didn’t find my true love in life. Sometimes I tune into the bachelor if a season seems interesting. But I was looking forward to The Golden Bachelor because dating past 50 is a different animal. Not necessarily looking for marriage but true love and companionship where “looks” don’t first define a connection, but a combination of sincerity, intelligence, commonality, communication, and attraction all come into play.
If you answer a man's questions on a date that isn't just perfect, such as my sister and I are sometimes at odds, or something else that isn't sounding picture perfect, you get dumped. Dating was so much easier in our younger years, when men didn't weigh and measure everything.
