    Clearly, a guy who isn't afraid of his relationship with ESPN ending. I think he feels confident he can do it his way and still make a good living( even if the ESPN contract is terminated). Kudos to him and wish we were all able to call out superiors that stink. Very few of us can successfully get away with that.

      I don’t get that. I think ESPN is at war with itself and is split into two camps. You can see some of the guys there jumping for joy (most of game day crew, Stephen a, Greenie) that he’s reviving them, but you also see some old heads absolutely loathing him. I think it’s entirely possible. ESPN isn’t monolithic and not all producers are completely aligned on everything. Seems like a toxic environment and they are trying to figure themselves out.

    ESPN is so corporate and the mistake was joining them. They would try to control this amazing show so much. Pat, you’ll be fine without them. I use to watch ESPN since I was 5 in 1995 until I joined the Army in 2005. I just started to not like it and watched other stuff. Now we have so many outlets online and yours has been the best. Screw ESPN, you don’t need them.

    The fuck is the goal here Pat? Norby is to ESPN as Bill Belichick is to the NFL. He’s been there forever, ESPN might be scuffling in the modern meta of video and social media, but Norby is highly respected and connected. Wtf. This looks like a captain scuttling his own ship because he has a beef with an admiral. Wow.

      it's funny because he already had his own show, Pat is doing ti in reverse. then again, that used to be the plan, get noticed on your own and get the big payday when something big buys you out.

    • @Gearmeshkutt
      @Gearmeshkutt 10 месяцев назад +1

      Actually, never sold his show. The agreement is to air the show that Pat still owns. The people on his show are still paid by Pat. Disney pays for the right to air his show. Pat still controls his RUclips and other social media accounts. He had a $120 million deal before Disney. If Disney dropped him tomorrow, Pat's show doesn't even go off the air for a day.

    I love McAfee’s show, but why ESPN? It had to be the money, I heard him say before the move that he had freedom to do as he wishes. He had to know that at some point ESPN (Disney) would get upset about something said, and now it’s happened.

  • @THINKTVTIME

    Rather him stay on youtube.... The ESPN thing never felt like a perfect marriage. Pat was too authentic and real to work for a company that micro manages everything. Pats Freedom of Speech to say whatever he wants is best part, I love a unfiltered show.

    Much respect for McAfee here for calling out a backstabber exec even if he might pay for it in the short term, it'll legitimize McAfee in the long term and increase his brand way longer. He's one smart SOB.

      Hes increased his cred with the youtube right winger commenter bros but hes flushing his brand into the toilet. The point of a brand is monetization turning your sports show into Aaron Roger's info wars hurts his ability to do that.
